Hi there. Wow what a treat. You are definitely in for a great cruise whichever cruiseline you go with. 
 

We did this trip with Princess. Simply because it’s our ‘go to’ line.  It was our first time to SA and it blew us away.  I would do this cruise again in a heartbeat. 
 

There is a huge amount of natural beauty and wildlife to see.   The beagle channel  ‘glacier alley’ was particularly spectacular.  
 

We got into the Falklands (the captain said it’s a 50/50 chance as it’s a long tender and weather is very changeable).

Hi. They are just positioned more to the front of the ship. Princess segment the ship into different zones which have different price points.  We often book BF or BD cabins  on C deck the balconies are all the same size about 9x9  half covered half open.  Enjoy the saving!

My understanding is that on the. ‘Grand class’ ships only the mini suites and suites have a sofa. So premium balconies relate to their location NOT additional seating. Now on the royal and regal. Premium balconies have a small 2 seater sofa.

Huge Balcony

C752 is the best cabin ever! It’s aft facing it has its own little corridor no footfall at all. The wake view is awesome. The whole balcony is covered. We had a balcony dinner on ours when we did our Hawaii cruise - awesome.

We usually go for cabins aft of the last set of lifts. As there is very little footfall. So very quiet. No issues with lift noise. So C710/C709 and back is where we usually book. So close to the lifts. So down to deck 7 in the evening and up to the buffet in the morning. These lifts are not as busy as the mid lifts.

These cabins are also BD balconies so cheaper than C601 you were looking at.

Caribe deck has large balconies. About 9ft x 9ft they are half covered. We love these cabins.

We usual get off with our in transit card and walk to Joe’s Diner at harbor shops for a late breakfast brunch. Then pop into publix and the return to the ship. There is a separate In transit door so you don’t need to queue with all the newbies. Enjoy

Last time we sailed out of SAN Fran we used The Tuscan now called hotel Zoe. It was really central and most things were walkable. To Pier 27 where our ship docked was a short 5 minute taxi ride with all our suitcases.

We had a lot of formal nights on our 28 night cruise last year and opted out of 2 or 3 and went to the buffet dressed casually. This was on Ventura and the only bar off limits was the metropolis.

Don't shoot me for asking this but .......we have cruised with other lines a lot, however this will be our first long cruise.

I see we have 10 formal nights on our 35 night cruise.

If hubby wears a jacket and tie on some of these formal nights will we still be able to get into the main bars, I realise we may not get into the main dining room.

He loves his DJ and waistcoat but at the moment we feel we don't want to do it twice a week. It's so much easier for us ladies.

Yes the doors will open into the same corridor. Have you booked the last balcony A747? If you have this cabin has an angled balcony so will give you a little more outside space.

I don't think so, they are offering 3rd/4th person in cabins for £99 on summer sailings out of southampton. I also noticed the share price didn't take a dip.

Just to say we also have difficulties when booking through Princess UK by having to apply each time for military OBC. However when we piggyback on our US family booking via a US TA the military OBC is automatically added.

I have suggested to Princess UK many times they would save themselves administration time and money to change their process - as once a Veteran always a veteran!

My understanding is this is where the caribe cafe used to be. I think you can see the terrace pool area through the windows.
