Play what you enjoy, just do not play at minimum. My experience has been if you wager somewhere in the middle, they play better. Min and max seem sucker bets.
I am typically a high limit $5-$10+ player, but when on a ship, no way. I will only "play up" on HL in land based casinos and even then you have to be careful because some are vacuums.
Play .02 instead of .01, that can make a difference as well.

Too close.
High winds, rough seas....too many variables

On the 22 day, we had mostly brunch, but occasionally I remember it being labeled as "lunch"

I'm Platinum
Always a balcony cabin.
Never been in pools or the human soup pots.
Never done any waterslides.
I believe we have done every Carnival stop, eastern and western, at least twice.

Tell that to the people who were on the Sunshine a few weeks back.

They may not pop up, but they frequently change course. We are still living the dream in Ft Myers from IAN that was 90% supposed to hit Tampa St Pete (120+ miles to the north). The recovery will take years and some areas like Ft Mtyers Beach will never be the same. Not arguing your cruise scenario.
That sucks and can't help, but at least you had some time to prepare. Maybe not prepare for a whack that hard, no one is ready for that.

I have been reading the “quick” reviews for this ship and I am a little concerned as the reviews are not very good.
It is not Disney World at sea. It is a smaller ship and your night time dinner choices are quite limited. That said, it's a nice ship to get you to your next destination.
The ship, is not your destination, unlike the mega-ships.

Now if he was also smoking on the balcony while urinating, you could really double report him and maybe get some action from Carnival. 😒
You meant smoking weed, right?

Thanks for the info tidecat. My brother in law is skittish about our August Panorama cruise. I basically told him Mexico is far safer then our hometown of Los Angeles...

It puzzles me why cruises still go to these places (Nassau has had a US Level 2 advisory since Oct) when it is advised against. Why put people at risk?
That is what that country is. You travel for the differences, the adventure. You can't always be coddled when traveling, there are sketchy places in the world, be careful.
Sometimes you have to be comfortable being uncomfortable in order to really experience certain countries.

Do you think there’s a chance the cruise line will find another port? We are wondering if we should just stay on board if they end up in Jamaica. Thoughts?
Don't go wandering around anywhere in Jamaica. Not near the port or any hotel/resort, unless with an escorted group, like a tour.

Yeah, I think it's very uncommon. I've never stayed anyplace that made me give up my passport for the *entire* time. If you mean taking it and giving it back later that day, then yeah. But never for the entire time.
My experience in Africa is somewhat limited - only 2 countries - but still never had it happen.
I have had to do in several places, Moscow (as said above) comes to mind. Had to surrender to hotel at check in, got back on departure.

Lots of hotels in Europe and Middle East and Africa will make you give them your passport when you check in and you get it back upon check out.
True. It's not that uncommon.

On Luminosa from Australia, we had to surrender our passports due to French Polynesia requirements, we stopped in Tahiti and Moorea.
They were returned a day or so after our stops there and before reaching Hawaii/USA.

What is the pecking order of those casino group invites? Elite the top A-#1?

I typically post a summary of our cruise after the fact and will try to do a more detailed one with pictures etc this next time around as there is so little on the Luminosa other than the great Longest Review ever from @EngIceDave
Curious about how "De-Australian" it is now.

Some speculate that loud volume does work because (using some logic) the laud noise makes it seem as if you are winning, inviting more players to play.
It's all a computer.
