DW and I are going on our 12th Princess cruise. We've taken part in many activities and enjoyed many things. My question is this. What do you regret NOT doing on a Princess cruise that you wish you had done?

Wow. I can't believe the number of people who turn up their noses to a fun assistant waiter parade, cake, and ice cream. Sure, it may not be as it was, but it is something those that didn't cruise years ago can enjoy. Enjoy the ride.

10 day Tahiti cruise in 2013 was great! It's too bad Princess doesn't do it anymore.
-
Again, thank you.

Neverbeenhere, since you've done that cruise many times, what kind of atmosphere/passenger demographic is on the ship? I've done many 7 and 10 day, but never a 5 day.

Thanks you for a useful reply.

Well, then. Embarkation is on Monday, at sea Tuesday, arrive in Cabo for an overnight on Wednesday, departs from Cabo at noon on Thursday, at sea Friday, and arrives back in San Pedro on Saturday. So, I guess the formal could be on Tuesday or Thursday. Thanks.

I assume there is just 1 formal night on the 5 Day get away to Cabo on the Ruby. Anyone know which night it is?

Kenny Chesney has some great songs about beaches, islands, boats, and Mexico.

The commodore was the captain on the Sun Princess during our first cruise. We had him three more times on three different ships. We had our picture taken with him on each of the four cruises. He autographed each one. For a time, I was seeing the commodore more often than one of my own brothers.

Besides the International Cafe, are there other places to get specialty coffees on The Royal?

Saw "Colypso Cabana" on the Royal Princess deck plan. I am curious what it is.

In regards to waiting for "sales" in the gift shops, if you see something you want early in the cruise, BUY IT. Don't wait for a sale. On my Tahiti cruise a few years ago there was a baseball style cap that had "Tahiti French Polynesia" on the front. I didn't purchase it because my previous Princess experience told me to wait for the "end of cruise" sale. Well, they sold out of the hats before the end of the cruise. I never got one. If you really want it, buy it when you see it.

Kind of the opposite. I became a bigger fan of Buffett after taking our first cruise through the Panama Canal.

The cup has always been waiting in the cabin when I have pre-ordered.

CB86,
Ya, I know what your sayin' (though some folks missed it!). I hate to say this out loud, but this deck (and the equivalent on the smaller Princess ships) have been our family secret for years. The extended overhang means you stay dry and in the shade 99% of the time.
Yes! Thank you!

We have M626 on the Royal next January. Does anyone have any experience with the overhang from the Horizon Court above as far as the enjoyment of the view from the balcony of the cabins below it?

Good to hear. We are boarding Saturday!

Intermittent showers in the Caribbean, DW and I call them "liquid sunshine".

My DW and I renewed our vows for our 25th wedding anniversary cruise. It was a 10 day Tahitian cruise on the Ocean Princess. We chose the basic package. It was also February 14th. It was great! The only drawback is I will never be able to top the romance of that Valentine's Day.

Is it possible to connect your smartphone to the television in your cabin to view the pictures and video from your phone? DW and I have Samsung android devices if it makes a difference.
-
Simple question. Booking a balcony, port or starboard?
-
It has been my practice to tip anyone (porters/bus drivers/bell hops) who handles our luggage $1 a bag. Is this about right or am I being too cheap?

Going on the CB in 3 weeks. We are looking forward to using the Medallion apps. I assume we can use the apps without using any of our free platinum Wi-Fi minutes, correct?
