Hi All
I was on this cruise as well.
I agree with everything the OP said, but...
it was not our 1st MSC Cruise, and it won't be our last. We only took this cruise, to book another cruise onboard.
that was a disaster in itself, as the guy had no idea what he was doing, but it all worked out in the end.
Bar service was very slow, they ran out of tonic, so not Gin and t for you, and coke ( diet or zero)
we just ordered 4 drinks every time, Jameson and coke.
I had a great cruise, apart from the 48 hours it took to board ;-) and yes I am also a black card holder.
We received a full refund from MSC, including the tips ( service charge) we paid.
the money was recieved from MSC last week...
So happy days...

Does anybody know what is the deal if you were to book a new cruise on MSC whilst on board?
Thanks.

There is no vehicle access to the EWR train station. You would have to get dropped off at the P4 Airtrain Station and take the free Airtrain one stop to the EWR Airtrain station. The fare is $13/pp.
What I would do is to take a taxi or Uber to Newark Penn Station. NJ transit fare to New York Penn Station is $5.25/pp. The final cost should be a bit less, but Newark Penn Station is a major transportation hub with red cap service available should you need it. It also has restrooms and eateries as well as escalators and an elevator up to the platform.

From Newark Penn (or the airport) you can take any North Jersey Coast Line or Northeast Corridor train to New York Penn Station.
Greetings and thanks for all your help

Can somebody please confirm how to:
If we get of the ship, and take a Taxi to EWR, and from there , take a train to Penn Station Manhattion
how would we do this?
thanks.

Four hours “should” be enough time unless there is some sort of systematic failure at Penn Station. You can sign up at PANYNJ.gov to receive text or email notifications about AirTrain and JFK. Don’t sign up until that day though.
You can also download the MTA LIRR Train Time App. That “should” inform you of any serious delays at Penn when you check.
I had the pleasure of visiting London and Edinburgh last summer and the public transportation in NYC is like a third world country compared to there. It’s an embarrassment. I would have a Plan B just in case the LIRR/AirTrain is out of service when you need it.

Thank You.
Plan B will be the subway, and Plan C will be a Taxi.

Great, thanks for your detailed explanation.
We will drop off our bags on the corner of 37th and 9th.
Our Train at 4 pm, will be the LIRR to Jamacia, than AirTrain to JFK, flight back to London.
Plane departs at 8 pm, so I think 4 hours will be enough time?
-
Our train only departs Penn Station NY at 16:00 - 4pm.but, we need to be there as early as possible, as we want to drop off our bags, and spend a few hours touring the city.

Hi all
Any advice please: We have no issue taking public transport and have taken the train / light rail in EWR / NY many times before.
We get off the Anthem on Saturday 24th March. We need to get to Penn Station NY, ASAP.
below is the 2 public transport options I found:
Taxi to 34th Street Light Rail Station, than HBLR to Newport, then PATH – 33rd Street
Taxi to 58 Legal St at Newark airport, then north Jersey coast Line train, straight to Penn Station.
2 Adults with no walking issues, but we will have 1 large and 1 small luggage each.
What would you do?
or, any other option, apart from a Taxi direct?
Thanks.

or, book it on the Irish website, and you get the Deluxe Alcohol package for free, if you like a drink...

Until a couple of years ago Costa used to publish their new cruise schedule Feb / March time frame, nowadays it will now be towards the end of June.
thank you.
-
Thanks.. we never txt each other on cruises... so wont need that.
-
Can you please confirm, what app is needed for the Anthem?
Thank you.

Any Idea when the 2019 ASIA - JAPAN schedule will be released?
Thank you.
-
I hope somebody can help with this.
We will be in Nassau for 1 day on our upcoming cruise.
If we were to book a room for 2 people at the comfortSuites, is there any chance we can get 4 wristbands?
We will not actually use the room, just a 1 min check incheck out, just to get the bands.
Thanks

BCN as in Barcelona?
We were off the ship, and at the airport in 15 min.
just do self carry off, 1st thing...
but, it is another story about security/immigration lines, etc at the airport.

Thank you for posting this, we are planning the same cruise in June 2018, but a little bit "scared" of Costa...

Hi all:
Been searching RRCL's site and feeling stupid as they just won't show me current pricing for packages. I guess that is only revealed after booking? I know it's all subject to change, but does anyone know what is currently the price at least? Was hoping to know before booking as this affects from where we book (friends in another country going with us see Deluxe included if they book all of us there).
To be more specific, if it's even relevant, we are looking at 7nt on Rhapsody out of Venice next September. Thanks in advance for any information!
if you go to the Irish site - .ie, you will get the package for free if you book the cruise on there.
-
On the Irish site, you get the Deluxe Package free when you book a cruise.
We compared booking it on the US vs Irish site, € vs $, and the price was less than €50 difference, and we get the package free in Ireland.
Well, i suppose we Irish have a reputation to keep

Stopped at Beal's Lobster Pier for lunch. For the record that was a 2.5 pound lobster with a pound of mussels.

Do you mind if I ask, how much did you pay for the lobster?
and please font say market price
Great review, we will be taking our first RCCL cruise in March.
-
Forgot to mention, we are on the Anthem, March 2018, 1st RCCL cruise.
-
Hi, i did a search, but could not find anything.
If we were to book this, i know we have to use it on the first 2 nights, but, can we use it in any paid restaurant? as in, go twice to the Steak house?
Thanks

Was called "The ARK" and we sailed on 9-3. I think theirs was a 3 day chartered. The crew looked pretty tired when we boarded, I think they were heavy drinkers lol
Thanks, i just found it. Looks interesting...
