And, that’s why I came here to see if anyone had any information. I’m grateful to those that were helpful in answering my question.

Why do people post stuff and say I was told/heard but don't say by who or where
Because it wouldn’t matter in the answer. But, since you’re interested, it was a family member that is going to be on our upcoming cruise. She heard it from a YouTuber that is cruising on the Caribbean Princess this week. I hope that satisfies your concerns.

I’ve been told that Princess Cay is closed? Anyone have information on this?

Dh and I would be in Australia right now. We weren't cruising for this trip, but flying to Sydney and then to Melbourne. We were going to spend a couple of weeks with our son (he lives in Sydney) for his birthday and for Mother's Day. Also, we were excited to get to meet the parents of our son's girlfriend. We have never been to Melbourne, so we were looking forward to spending some time there as well as time in the Sydney area. Who knows how long it will be before Australia is "open" to visitors again. They are very rigid with their restrictions. We're sad that we weren't able to spend this time with our son and his girlfriend, but we have had several FaceTime conversations with them. Thank goodness for technology! Can't wait to get "down under" sometime in the future.

Who's the captain? He's the bald headed one, in the middle, Peter Jansen is on the right and the pilot is on the left, It's not Draper..
Our captain on the Oosterdam has been/is Michael Willems. 25 years experience.

I feel sorry for those new passengers who are affected. Let's just hope there are some open spaces where they can be accommodated if repairs can't be made.
We were having breakfast in the Lido Market when it happened, and didn't feel a thing!
I agree. Someone just lost their wrap-around aft deck!
We were still in bed, but awake. Our cabin is mid-ship, Oosterdam, and we didn't feel anything either! We're were blown away when we saw the damage! Glad no one was hurt.

We got on board around 12:00, had a nice lunch in the MDR, unpacked and are ready to sail!! Time for muster drill and then away we go. Watch for us. We'll be on our balcony (7072) with a Seahawks flag!

Work interferes with my life once again!

We were on an Alaskan cruise with our daughter and son-in-law last year. Dh and I were in a Neptune Suite, so we asked this very question. The answer was a very polite but definite no.

Call me old fashioned, but those monster ships just do NOT appeal to me in the least!

Love the toot battle!

I think that was the name of our ship. I would have to look it up to be sure. It was a beautiful older ship. She had some pretty interesting history.

I have a friend and her family who will be sailing on Celebrity Edge for the first time tomorrow. She has many HAL cruises under her keel as well as many others on Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, and Chandris (remember them?). I'm interested in learning what she thinks about this Class of ships.
Our very first cruise was on a Chandris ship (~1990). Hooked us for life!

Thanks! See you tomorrow!! This is addicting.

Have you requested a wave from PTZ?
Yes. Hopefully we're all set!

We'll be on the Oosterdam next Saturday!! Getting so excited! Watch for a wave from us...we'll be flying a Seahawks flag off our veranda.

We normally eat around 7pm at home, so we tend to stick close to that while on a cruise. Generally, we'll set out reservations for 7:30-8:00 as it seems a bit less hectic at that time. Good luck and bon appetit!!

I have thoroughly enjoyed your thread. Your pictures are beautiful and I love reading about your experiences. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful adventure with us!!
