  1. Im planning to book the 4-BR suite in ‘24 for our 50th anniversary. Grandsons will be 10 and 13.  I’ve been comparing both ships to a degree.  Know they’re similar but seems Symphony improved on some things.  Any big difference I should look for?  Either better than the other?

  2. I have 49 on RCCL - know I need 175. But will be adding more the next couple of years. The b2b I’m on next year is 25 nights but don’t think we booked with the double points (😩)!  Just thinking maybe I’ll do some Royal cruises with friends to eventually reach D+, although I’m perfectly happy with Elite+ on X.   Thx for your responses

  3. I’m Elite Plus on Celebrity and have cruised a few times on RCCL. I know I’m only Diamond on RCCL but have several cruises scheduled on Royal.  What are the points values on Royal?  I still need a lot to get to D+ but hope to eventually get there.  Have 2 long cruises booked next year in regular balcony cabins but booking the BIG suite in ‘24.  It’ll just be 7 days but can’t find how many points I’ll get for each category.  TIA.

  4. I’ll be on Apex b2b beginning October 3, then the TA on the 10th - hopefully.  Are the shows spaced out at 7 and 9-ish like on the other X ships?  We usually do the 7:00 show then dinner at 8. We’re not in a suite so will do MDRs.   Planning on doing Eden for my birthday.   So wondering if we are ok with 8:00 or need to do earlier.  Def want to see the Eden show, but may not be able to get there by 9:30.  We’re on Apex again B2B in January/Feb, in a regular balcony the first week, suite the second.  Can’t wait!

  5. I'm trying to decide which floor to book a sunset veranda room on Apex.  I'm on a B2B and my second cruise (a TA) is on 7th floor, but I'm wanting a SV for the week before.   It would be easy to do 7th floor and just move up for the second, but want to have a good experience.  Help!  Are the higher levels better?  Read where there may be some soot on the lower floors but don't want to be directly under the top levels either.   Thanks.

  6. One of my worst pet peeves.  I even wrote Sam's Club an email once because they did the same thing on an "invitation" to something, said, "Your invited."  I asked them WHAT was invited?  My dog, my friend, my brain??   Glad she put Seamus in his/her place!!!

  7. I'm booked on the same cruise June 15.  My flight to Rome has canceled.  I can get to Boston (from SC!!!) but nothing else.  Talked to Delta today and was told it had actually canceled.  I made my reservations with FBC so will have to get with them eventually.  Just wish X would hurry up and cancel.  I canceled over $1,000 worth of tours last week.   We had a river cruise following this one out of Munich/Passau to see the Passion Play in Oberammergau but it has postponed to 2022 so we're rebooked to go then on that one.  Got too much going on next year to rebook this one to the same cruise.  Was going to use my FCC to pay for my October TA on Apex but I'm figuring it will be canceled too.   Want to do the same price perk to rebook it for 2021.   Such a MESS!!!!!

  8. Has anyone taken the train from Bergen to Oslo?  We can’t book it until 90 days beforehand (need it in August so can book soon), but wondering how hard the booking is, where the station is in Oslo, and any tips. We are ending our cruise in Bergen, flying out of Oslo 2 days later.   Thanks for info.

  9. Just FYI, after reading about Steve getting "con"Ed, I called asked TA and asked about my OBC I gave on the Mardi Gras cruise (I have a TON), and was told that $275 of the $300 they are giving me is refundable - the Celebrity OBC is not; however, Celebrity reserves the right to make a change. So hopefully it was Celebrity and not the TA that did the "con"-ing.

  10. Steve, just got wind of this thanks to someone on the Mardi Gras thread. Read every page tonight. It was great. Glad you like the S class. I do too but love all Celebrity ships actually. Know V will like it. Wish we could get something scheduled to cruise together again, but maybe we'll see you stateside soon. Anxious to meet Bill and Rosie (and others) on the MG cruise. Safe travels home and drop me a note when you read my Christmas card (I asked you if you want me to send you something!).

  11. Probably our favorite experience. The long thread is on the roll call section -- under Xpedition. We went in March 2012 - there was rain in the distance but nowhere near us. Water temp was warm enough that some didn't wear the wetsuits. Would really like to go back and do the other itinerary (but I think they've changed that now) but would like to see at a different time of year to see perhaps the babies. We did the Celebrity add-on to Machu Picchu -- first class all the way and we thought worth what we paid. Others say it's too expensive - and we don't do top-shelf spending - but did on this trip. If you're going that far you may as well extend it and go on to Peru!
