  1. Yesterday I made my 3rd attempt to reserve at tropicante for Thanksgiving day. I have not received a response. I contacted through their website, facebook, and I finally emailed directly. Our group was most excited about this stop and tropicante. I wish I knew why they are not responding. With such amazing reviews this surprises me. We are very disappointed and starting to look for other restaurant/beach options. :loudcry:

  2. Hasn't been working for me all day. Anybody else? I get an error that the page doesn't exist?

This has happened to me and I had to do password change and then it worked. My password was stored so I know I didn't forget it.

  3. We were researching costa maya and came across a video of Steve giving a tour of downtown! The fact that he was promoting other bars and businesses like his sold us on tropicante. I hope to meet him while we are there. He seems like a great guy and I've yet to see a bad review of his establishment

  4. I spoke with norwegian last week and asked if the certificates I've been purchasing will go toward the $300 per person required on the onboard account and he said I would still have $600 hold on card or need $600 cash when checking in. Just wanted to share this.

  5. I did a land vacation in cozumel. So many great things to see, especially on the wild side of the island. San gervasio ruins are nice, El cedral, and fun shopping. You can grab a cab and do a custom tour. On our cruise that is our plan. I want to do the tequila farm this time and show my family the other great things I saw last time. Chaunkanaab is a wonderful beach too with so many other activities.

  6. I compared a carnival cruise out of balrimore to bahamas with ncl cruise out of new york going to the Bahamas the same week. If I bought unlimited drink package with carnival the two cruises would cost close to the same, carnival being just a tad more. The ncl price includes 200 surcharge for ubp. I have not sailed ncl yet so I can't compare which atmosphere I will enjoy more. I'm going with ncl because it is 4 hours less of a drive.

  8. I just bought a large vacuum bag for a dollar just to experiment. I put 12 dresses, 3 tank tops, 2 shorts, 1 pants, 3 bikinis. I did not use a vacuumn, just pushed the air out and I still have room for more in the bag. It lays in the bottom of my carryon with still room for much more.

  9. I may get flamed for this, especially since I can't imagine that the parents who allow this don't have a clue at how intrusive and annoying it is. But, just in case parents really have no idea, I am putting this out there. I am clueless as to why any parent thinks it is ever okay to let their children run up and down the hallways on a cruise ship. I know they are kids, and we should let them be kids...But, isn't it more important we teach them to be humans first? It is just not appropriate or considerate at any time of day to be running down a hallway outside of other people's cabins. Do you not realize how loud and annoying the constant thumping of feet running past someone's cabin door must be. And, it doesn't matter what time of day either. If someone is trying to relax in their cabin in the middle of the day or early evening, that is their right, and there is absolutely no reason for anyone to be running around in the hallways ever.

They should send them up to the track. Maybe I'm old fashioned but running inside was always a no no for my kids.

  10. I don't have a credit card and don't want one. I'm buying onboard credit. I figure if I can't afford to wait to get that cash refund back in a few weeks I probably should not be going on vacation. I have until November though. I just buy a 25$ on board certificate each week.

  11. Good morning,

I have been to cozumel but my travel companions have not. The plan is San gervasio ruins, hacienda antigua, the other side of the island to see the wild waves, an adult beverage at the little bar that sells drinks in coconuts and lunch at coconuts bar and grill. Should I pre-book or can we just grab a cab outside the port? It would be $285 for 5 hours if I book now. Thinking it may be less at the port and just grabbing the first cab I see?

  12. My sister in law was on the escape recently and purchased the thermal suite package. They said they would not do it again, only due to spa staff walking around hounding them to try other spa packages like acupuncture, facials, massage etc. She said it was hard to relax, peacefully. Anyone else have this experience? I'd like to try it but don't want to feel like I'm on a beach in the Dominican being hounded by vendors.
