Ok.....lol.  Allow me to be more specific.  Follow me on this.  You get off the elevator on lido (I will use the NCL and RCCL lingo here) and to your post washy washy.  Then we enter lido and ....more washy washy.  So you walk up to guys, where you touch nothing and you give your desire for the burger and they hand you a plate (which if it has germs your point is moot anyway), but again only thing you touch and you sit down and eat it.  Hence my comment.  We can get into whether your version of the NVL and RCCL world actually does anything at all (as compared to what the experts say you should do).

That would be great if you could find a hand sanitizer when you got off the elevator and if you could find a hand sanitizer when you entered the Lido area.   They are non existent

  2. I am currently on the Magic and have to say I am disappointed in Carnival.  There does not appear to be any increased precautions in place.   The pre screening is simply handing over a questionnaire where you say you are fine.   On board there is few if nit fewer than usual hand sanitizer stations.   None for Guys none for the Blue Iguana.   Only some before the buffet line.
Gloves worn by some food handlers but not by others.
NCL is adamant about this.  Sanitizer everywhere including the elevators.  Persons stationed at entrances to eating areas insisting “washy washy”.

  3. We just got off a five day cruise on the Paradise.  This used to be our favorite ship but that is another story.  Anyway on the second day I noticed that a wash cloth turned brown when I ran it under the faucet.  Yulk.....we called maintenance and he fiddled with things for a bit and finally said he did not know why the water was discolored.  Long story short---we were given the run around concerning this and finally asked for a different cabin.  When we  were taken to view the new cabin the first thing we did was to turn on the water.....discolored also.  Then and only then did they admit that it was a ship wide problem.  We were given bottled water to brush our teeth with and told that the water was safe just discolored.  The assistant manager did add that even though the water is safe he would not drink it..........serious?  The water stayed discolored the entire cruise......

We were on the 9th - 20th Jan Cruise from Miami on Divina

I notice you stayed in your room until 9.30am on disembarkation day.

It that a black card perk.?

We were told to vacate our room, latest 7.30am.

We chose express walk off, along almost everyone else judging by the queue snaking through

    the ship.

Interesting......we are Black card and were told we had to vacate by 7:30 because it is required in Miami.  We were on the 01/20/2019 cruise.

  5. We will be sailing on the MSC Divina in Jan.  We status matched to the Black card but since the MSC web site is not very informative I have a few questions.

With the Black card do you have early access to your cabin?

Are you allowed to take wine on at embarkation?

When you have the drinks on us card can you order anything?

    Thank you in advance!

  6. Wow you are amazing! I did a search so as to not be repetitive and did not see Divina cabin 12075. This is our first MSC cruise and we are excited but a little nervous about the size of the cabins. I know this is an inside but that's about it. Thank you for any information.

  7. I agree about Ronald....we had him on our last cruise. Our cabin was really dirty when we arrived and the first night we came back to our cabin he had literally just dumped everything on the bed....a scrunched up towel (I think it was supposed to be a towel animal) Robes that we didn't ask for--

Our Platinum gifts and no Fun times. We bribed him and he then became acceptable the rest of the week. Not great but acceptable. Going again in September and luckily not on deck 7

  8. We are loyal Carnival cruisers so this may look like complaining but just to clarify this is only some things that we noticed.

Embarkation went well for us but we heard others had a very bad time.

Cabin was typical OV Deluxe and yes the air conditioning rumor is true. We heard from several people that their cabins were hot......they are

Plenty of chair hogs and Carnival did not enforce not saving seats. Family's of 12 saving seats from 7 am for all day. Most family members not appearing until 1 or 2. And oh yes we did grab two of them one day.

On the same note Carnival did not observe anything going on in the pool area. We saw children running wild and nearly seriously hurting themselves or guests around them. Broken glass in a hot tub..........

Past guest party was typical but why in the world only one seating section gets served is beyond me. No one in the middle back section ever got offered a drink or food unless they followed a waiter and practically had to knock them down to get attention.

Disembarkation in ports was crazy. No organization and only one exit.

Lido dinner food was not very good. Breakfast and Lunch were fine though. MDR pretty good for the most part.

Great bartenders in the Ocean Mid bar! Personable and make great drinks.

Disemarkation was probably the worst we have ever experienced. Platinum and Diamond were not given any advantage. And yes people that is one perk that I look forward to

  9. We had this cabin on the 01/26/2014 sailing. I loved the extra room! I would book it again but there are some down sides. The one window is at the head of the bed and it has a long ledge so the view is not very good. Only one night did we have a lot of vibration and noise and that was the night we left Cozumel. Upsides and downsides but bottom line is it is huge!

  10. I agree with avoiding lounge if possible. I had a room above lounge on Victory and since it was a aft wrap it was ok, but had to life with some pretty annoying noises. If I had a choice would pick differently. I aim for cabins above and below if at all possible.

On the Sunshine I was in room 2347 a 6B aft oceanview and it was lovely. Picked it because it looked larger, which it was. Pretty sure it will have been snapped up but a good one to grab if available.

You'll enjoy the ship. Aft was great because it is a short hop up the elevator to serenity deck and often more importantly Havana and lido. Enjoy. Had a great time on the ship and thought the dining areas were great with how spread out they were. The Havana area always seemed less crowded and very comfortable, felt like a restaurant and not a ship cafeteria.

I used the Destiny to check rooms also, still a lot of pics and while may be different will give you a feel for things.

We are booked in room 2347 for the Jan 26 cruise. I am curious about this room. Any pictures?
