  1. Could someone please explain to me how upgrades work and if i am able to get one since final payment has already been made. Quick overview we family of 3 are currently in a deluxe OV on deck 1 midship which we paid 1599. we can book a balcony that carnival picks the location for 1659. would that be something people would take since its a balcony or not since its picked by carnival and would lose our 2nd bathroom.

  2. They will accept them on board (even without a name on them) those that say they won't, don't know what they are talking about, I just did it 2 weeks ago, $1200 worth.

Having said that, they can be a PITA. I had to go back down to GS 3 times during the cruise to get them reactivated because they would deactivate and my S&S would be overdrawn.

I though as well that they should be ok. Ill be calling to find out for sure

  3. I'm confused by these answers. If these are just the Visa/MC gift cards you get in a store, why wouldn't she be able to use them anywhere that Visa/MC is taken? Does Carnival specifically exclude these for some reason?

so am I. i just want to know if i can use them like cash, as a lot of people now a days are using them instead of using bank accounts do to fraud. i only shop online with them. I dont want to get to the port with no creditr card and not be able to use the cards which are basic prepaid credit cards.

  4. Can you pay your cruise off with them instead? Or is that already paid for?

we already paid off our cruise in July. I put that we are using cash for our sas account, thinking we could just add those prepaid cards on like cash, but im not sure thats possible

  5. Im hoping to get that call as I want to try a Balcony again. On our first ever cruise we were assigned to an inside on deck 1, we got to check in and they had us upgraded to an OV which was really nice surprise.

  6. only thing I found wrong with this was at Dinner in th mdr when you ask for one they bring it, but if you ask for another my dinner was over before they brought it back. I asked if they could bring me 2 and they said they were not aloud.

  7.:eek:Seriously? Wow...just wow. I can't wait to see how many peoples clothes gets ruined from leaking bottles.

And IMHO there is no way they can open every bag and check the liquids.

We never put toilitries in our carry on always in checked bages. we have special bags that have plastic liners so if something leaks it not on our clothes. I was just relaying what I was told from A carnival rep. She said they are opening any bags that go through the scanner once they get on board that they see has liquid in them. so no not every bag just the ones that come up on the scanner as looking liek liquid

  8. I use Apple Cider Vinegar every day for Rosacea. I contacted the Special Needs Department and told them it only comes in bottles. I can get a 16 ounce bottle but it is a bottle.

I received an email back stating that I would need to pack the bottle in my checked luggage or else it would be confiscated. I was told it would be okay to do that.

I really don't want to put it in my checked luggage.

I will be taking a doctors note with me and hope they let me take it on.

And for those of you saying I can do without, I don't think so. It is a 21 day cruise and it would be a nightmare.

Therefore, my point being, is that why would they let Vanilla and Hot Sauce back on the ship when I was told no to the ACV? Special needs said they are not letting any bottles on the ship in carryons.

Does this go for shampoo also because I have seen a lot of "fake" bottle that are made to especially carry booze.

From what I got from my Carnival cruise rep Lisa is that she says that no bottles are aloud on board that you carry on. Shampoo and other hair stuff is aloud to be brought along but in your checked bags at the port. She says they are going through checked bags at the port and taking out anything liquid that looks like its illegal that is found inside.
