  1. It beggars belief that Thomson would re-brand to TUI and then to Marella in the space of a few short weeks and at all the additional expense. Even more so that they are doing some of it whilst pax on board and missing out published ports of call, and then giving away some 1000 pax x 5 ships x £25 each for putting up with it.

Perhaps this is where Thomson well known record of incompetence comes from?

  2. Can't imagine how it must be to be in a hurricane and we shouldn't complain about our weather should we Feel so sorry for them and I do hope Havana isn't flooded and they lose some of their magnificent crumbling buildings Let's hope there aren't too many deaths and they can rebuild as soon as possible but I'm sure I'll see the aftermath in January from Celebration which will make me very sad but we have to go to help their economy so they can rebuild quickly

Punctuation would make it easier to read and understand your posts.

  3. Thomson spirit is a death trap waiting to happen

There are no lifejackets at the lifeboats

We were told at the departure port drill that we had to leave wherever we were on the ship and negotiate our way back down to our cabins to collect our lifejackets and proceed to deck 7 for the emergency muster .

The ships officer told us that if the fire screens blocked our way down we were to override them using the buttons next to the fire door and keep going down and down , Smoke, fire, water , listing ship was not mentioned ,

    I complained on board

Met with the safety officer and staff captain , they agreed it was crazy, unsafe and dangerous but Thomson would not supply the 1200 extra lifejackets needed ,

In a genuine emergency many people will die in the ensuing panic as the fight their way down as ordered and try and get back up 4 decks with their lifejackets ,

I emailed Thomson, maritime safety agency in uk , bbc. Sky. Radio. No interest. No replies,

I am an ex ship superintendent partner in a shipping company , I know what I am talking about here

My advice if your sailing on the spirit is tdguse to sail until lifejackets are otovided at the boats

    Rubbish

  4. Also tried Thomson Cares, they just refer you to the complaints team who ignore you. That title is a joke in a complaints case though I hope they would help in a real case of distress abroad. Does anyone have this experience?

Agreed, Thomson doesn't care and their customer service is pathetic. We had a very legitimate complaint and was fobbed off. However, I am fairly certain that in a case of real emergency or distress they would do much better.

  5. We've been to Agadir many times both as cruisers and hotel stayers and really like it. It has a wonderful beach, the grand souk is really good and the petit taxis from and to the port are cheap and plentiful. The locals are friendly and they like British people. Stall holders are persistent but not aggressive and a smile and a no thank you goes a long way. We've also done the Marrakech excursion from Agadir. It's a long but interesting trip with tons to see and do when you get there. Not to be missed in our view. The weather has always been hot and sunny when we've been.

  6. No, it's simply Thomsons inability to do joined up electronic administrative procedures online.

Its not just the on line things. I rang before 10.00 this morning to reserve a specific cabin but the chap couldn't process my visa debit card payment and said he'd ring me back in 5 minutes. I'm still waiting for the call 8 hours later. Not impressed.
