  1. My wife and I are interested in doing a dinner at 150 Central Park (Harmony of the Seas).  Do they still do the 4-course dinners there that include the wine pairings or is that something that is only available with the Chef's Table (which I realize is just having wine included as part of the cost of the dinner, and not necessarily a specific pairing for each course)? If they still do them at 150 Central Park, is there a way to book that in advance?  I see that we can book 150 Central Park in advance, but it's for a flat fee of 64.99 (discounted down to 57.99 for our cruise currently), but that price would clearly be for the regular dinner there, not one with matching wine pairings.

Thanks for any help that you can provide.

Captains noon update said we will still be to Ft. Lauderdale on time. Working on getting the fourth engine going. Still running some tests. All ship services up and running. Captain apologized many times for missing the port, but said safety first. Just seems like a normal sea day on board. Guest Services said we will be reimbursed port taxes and fees.

It seems like HAL should be offering more than port charge and tax reimbursement.  Weather-related issues are completely beyond their control, but mechanical issues should have them bearing accountability -- a couple hundred dollars in shipboard credit (or a refund equal to that amount since you're so late in the cruise) doesn't seem unreasonable.

  3. Anybody have experience with staying in the interior cabins directly beneath the casino or the casino bar on the Nieuw Amsterdam? We're pretty light sleepers and want to make sure we're not going to hear the sounds of the casino games while we're trying to sleep. The reviews on the "J" categories seem very good on the main deck (directly below the casino) but we're traveling with our 9-year old son.

We have a couple dozen cruises under our belt, including one on the Nieuw Amsterdam, but we've never booked one under the casino before. Don't know how insulated this ship is compared to others.

Any advice you all could provide is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

  4. The last two Carnival cruises we've done haven't had orchestras. In fact, with the broadway-style shows on Carnival, it seem like they're requiring more of the performers to pull double duty (singing and dancing) thereby reducing the number of people that are required to be on payroll.
