This originally caught P&O out and was the original video on YouTube.

It should only happen if the pool level is kept high and the seas are moderate to rough. To counter this, P&O reduce the level of the water in the pool as this reduces the overspill risk.

The new video on YouTube, which appears to have been filmed in Stavanger if I’m correct, is when Iona is in dock. Water level will be higher in port and this seems to be more a case of inconsiderate passengers / too many passengers in the pool at once.

Inconsiderate or to many passengers is still a problem P and O need to solve. We sailed at the end of October 21 on deck 9 in one of the aft balcony cabins. Husband stepped onto the balcony to take a photograph whilst in Rotterdam and got soaked. Called guest services who came and looked. Arranged balcony cleaning, the same thing happened the following day. Had friends who cruised over Christmas in deck 10 aft balconies exactly the same problem in fact in a rough Bay of Biscay no problem. Balcony unusable when in port which on a Canaries cruise is pretty poor. The infinity pools need to be staffed as passengers appear to need reminders that there are other guests on the ship. As for the deck 8 aft whirlpools well they have become the kids pools whilst parents are at the sunset bar.

  2. NCL took care of me!!!! I thought I better try one more time today before giving up. I called my TA and they said it would be an hour wait. It actually was not a very long wait, no where near an hour and I was switched from an Epic med sailing to a Epic Spirit sailing.

Just wanted to let you with Epic med cancelations know there is potential hope and to try back again if you were told yesterday they wouldn't switch. I got price protection too.

Do mean you switched from Epic to Spirit in the Med as if that is the case that is all we are looking to do as well (All hope may not be lost) :-)

  3. Epic guests have only been offered the option to cruise 12 months early to achieve price protection and retention of perks. People book their cruises in a time frame they want so this is not a reasonable offer. UK terms and conditions and ABTA state a 'reasonable' alternative. Currently no new cruises available to view. Shocking customers service. I do not want a refund I want a cruise in the time frame I booked in. Happy to change ship, departure port and even pay additional port fees but I do not see why keeping perks is unreasonable in NCL eyes.

  4. How much more do the rules about passenger cancellations need to tighten here in the UK when booking with NCL? If I cancel because I don't want to sail, I forfeit my deposit. In this case it would be $300 if I chose not to sail in normal circumstances.

If NCL cancel because they don't want me to sail they offer $50 per cabin which in our case means $25 pp!

How about a little more in the OBC offer? Doesn't really cost them that much as it can only be spent onboard. Other lines give more OBC just for missed ports!

Couldn't agree more. Our Easter 2017 cruise on Epic has been cancelled. We cannot move forward by a year as leave is fixed. We will lose $200 OBC and 3rd passenger sails free as we cannot move to when NCL wants and yet as a UK customer if we had cancelled we would lose our £300 deposit. Will have to wait until the 17th and visit TA but as they had to phone NCL to get them to even email the cancellation details pretty disgusted with NCL.

  5. Do we know exactly when? We need something at Easter. Summer 2017 is still unknown for us. I thought maybe Bliss then if it's in Europe.

April 13th 2017 Canaries 10 day definately cancelled. Will try to post email we recieved from TA. Spirit from Venice looks good but we will lose our OBC and 3rd passenger travels free which anoys me. Don't mind a slight increase in cruise fare as it is a slightly longer cruise but I do think as it is them cancelling that promotions should be honoured.

  6. We booked the Epic cruise for Easter 2017 to the Canary Islands a few weeks ago as it was a ridiculously good price. I know a lot of Epic cruises for 2016/17 have been cancelled, but I haven't received any emails from NCL yet.

I'm a little restricted with the Internet for the next week (just using my iPhone), so I thought I'd just ask on here whether anyone knows if this cruise has been cancelled. I don't actually mind too much, as I may even decide to move to the new Jade itinerary which leaves a day earlier. I'm just trying to get an idea of my options.

    Thanks

We are also wondering about this cruise as we now cannot access it on our cruise personaliser( we could last week). From trawling through other threads it seems Epic sails its last 3/4 night cruise out of Port Canaveral on March 25th 2017 but don't know how long a TA would be but hoping we might be its first cruise out of Barcelona. Also booked 23rd October 2016 on a 7 night and have the same uncertainties. Hope we all hear soon.

  7. Hi

We are pre-registering for the Fjords 2016 trip and we can book it next week. They have an offer on where if you book an inside or ocean view you get a select drinks package or if you book a balcony you get the premium drinks.

We have only ever been on one cruise before and that was a Thomson and we just had an inside cabin which was very very small and noisy.

If we go for inside/ocean - what are the sizes of the rooms like in comparison to the balcony rooms? If we choose this option would we pay able to pay the difference between the drinks package they are throwing in for nothing and the premium?

Do RC give you the option of being able to choose a room and if so have you any tips for where I should be choosing rooms for inside/ocean.

Is the balcony room worth it - its our anniversary so thought I would "push the boat out" :) and splash out. If we do get the balcony - any tips for which room?

    Any info would be great.

    Thanks

    Shirley :)

We are looking for a Fjords 2016 and are awaiting the release of itineraries can you point me in the direction of where I can find Navigator dates as couldn't see them on Royals website? Thanks

  8. Thanks for replies. We want to book the Dunns river falls in jamica and the dolphin swim in cozumel but weren't sure if to book them online with ncl now or book on board or even book the dolphin swim with the dolphin park itself.

Have just booked ours for Greece and Turkey and online with NCL we got 10% off booking 3 excursions in advance. Worth a look to see if this applies to your cruise as not just Europe according to the website.

  9. Celebrity has just released its itinerary for 2016. Some of the cruises look great - at a price - with some perks. It is tempting for people like us who are restricted to school holidays and can't just follow the perks / discounts re a cruise.

Am just wondering if you think that P&O should release their itinerary as soon as possible and if it would entice you to book ASAP.

Like you we are restricted to school holidays and we always book early to secure dates and cabin we want but not impressed with Celebrity this time. For 2015 we have a concierge cabin booked for the ffjords last week in August same cruise would cost more just for an oceanview. Seriously hoping P&O don't follow this trend.

  10. In all fairness, that's what a for-profit company should do.

Only works while you have customers! Upset enough and you have a problem. As UK cruisers who have enjoyed Royal Caribbeans product we are not interested in all inclusive cruising which seems to be there way forward in Europe. The result is that we are sailing with other lines we also enjoy but for whom all inclusive is an optional extra payment and not part of the basic price. All inclusive is popular for new cruisers in the UK but less so with more regular cruisers it is a gamble they take as cruise prices ex UK are generally higher than from the USA and many passengers do not cruise regularly as a result.

  11. It has been much commented upon that Adventure has an outbreak of norovirus and will undergo a deep clean before she sails tomorrow but passengers on todays Indie sailing were also emailed and as we sail on Tuesday just wondering if Indie did have a problem as roll call posts for Indie saying no delay in boarding today despite email. More info would be helpful:confused:

  13. Thanks for the replies. Due to the time of the year it should be full of kids anyway so figured she would have lite friends to play with and I'm sure she'll find something to be entertained.

    First cruise, here we come!

Did our first cruise in 2009 when DS had just turned 9. It was a 4 night Baltic as DH was concerned about motion sickness. Returned to Vision a year later when DS was 10 again Baltic for 7 nights and DS loved it both times in fact is one of his favourite ships. You will be hooked on cruising I am sure.:)

  14. Currently looking at a 10 day Canaries cruise from Malaga in Feb or March 2015.

This will be our first time with Norwegian - up to now it's been Royal Caribbean for us. Time wise NCL looks good - what differences can we expect between RCL and NCL please

Did this cruise at Easter this year having sailed mainly RCL had a fantastic time and booked same itinery on Epic Easter 2016. Other than the lack of a formal night very little difference we are converts especially as we have to book early and travel UK school holdays and the prices of other lines we have sailed just don't compare. I would definately say give NCL a try:)

  15. Going on Adventure of the seas in the October school holidays.

Never done RCI before, what's it like in general ??

    Done p&o and Cunard before.

Does RCI require us to dress up ?

RCI no different to P&O in fact would prefer RCI as saw the worst behaviour I have witnessed at sea from children on Ventura. Cunard is in a league of its own but then I suspect you have not paid Cunard prices for this cruise. Don't give the tickets away go with an open mind and your formal wear as in our experience you will need it. Also please remember that everybody is responsible for their own behaviour and that of their children. RCI staff will challenge poor behaviour and parents who are not adequately supervising which I have never seen done on P&O. The personal insults starting to appear on this thread are disappointing and not necessary.

  16. And yet overall sailings out of the UK are up and P&O has the largest number of passengers.

Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app

I would hope P&O have the largest number of passengers out of the UK they have the greatest capacity. Do you have any idea of the percentage of fares they are selling at the select rate?
