Log on to your booking on the Carnival website then choose Cruise Manger / Specialty Dining / Chef's Table. You can then pick the day of your choice on the dropdown menu on the right. We are cruising on Sept. 3rd on the Vista and have booked our Chef's Table. Looking forward to it!

When did yours start showing an available date?  I can get to the Chef's Table, then add my name and my husband's, but when I go to select date all it says is "Invalid Product".  I am hoping we can still get into it and it isn't completely booked, but I know it is popular and they only have room for like 12.  I haven't had time to call Carnival and wait, though I will at some point soon because I don't want to miss out.

  2. I did a B2B Bahamas with Carnival with my family and was pregnant. My husband got Cheers, I did not.  Maybe it was just a good day or things have changed, but we didn't think we could and I mentioned it to the bartender at the first bar and they told me to go to Customer Service.  I took my pregnancy form that attested I was less than the limit of weeks pregnant and they accepted that for both cruises.

    1. Can you lock your own cabana to store your valuables? No, there was no lock, but I just left my e-reader and our phones under towels in the cabana, no issues.

    2. How far is the walk to a swimming beach? A couple of minutes at most, we were in #10 and were right across from an entrance to the snorkel area.

    3. Although not right at a beach, do you still have a great view of water? Yes, gorgeous view of the water and the ship in the background.

    4. How far is the restroom and lunch BBQ? We had a restroom just a couple cabins from us, lunch was a little further, maybe about a 5 minute walk, that's it. None of it is really very far if you are a healthy adult with no issues. When you get onboard they will have you go to the shore excursion desk to pick your cabana and they have a map with where everything is located to make it easier on you.

We loved having our cabana, and with me being pregnant, it was awesome to have a cooler space to relax in. Plus we had a lot of shade around ours which was nice as well.

Edit to add: I wasn't drinking, but there was a bar very close to us, and wait staff walking by constantly.

  4. you were lucky. They are not supposed to be looking at notes at all.

It wasn't required for me to submit the doctor's note in advance, which is a change from before, and I did anyway. But it was actually a bartender that told us that we could do it this way. I was fortunate that I brought the letters with me and did it on both cruises.

  5. We were on the Liberty last May for a 4 night cruise and we really enjoyed it. I will be at a conference in October and have a few days afterward to do a mini vacation. Carnival had a nice deal on a suite on the Liberty and I ma thinking it could be a lot of fun.

I have heard reviews that a 3 day cruise is a "booze cruise". Is that really true? I don't want to be on a ship of crazies!

Also - how are the suites on the Liberty?

We just did a 4 day and a 3 day on the Liberty back to back. There was a bit of a difference in the crowds on the cruises, if anything I would say the 3 day had more families, but also more partying. Both were a lot of fun and we didn't have any issues with either. The 3 day had a lot less people in the dining room (we did your time dining).

  6. Has anyone ever heard of Carnival letting one person purchase the cheers program if there spouse cant drink do to allergies they allow it on RCCL as long as you buy the soda package for the second person?

I know a lot of people are posting that they won't allow it even with a pregnant spouse but I just did a back to back on the Liberty and they allowed my husband to purchase Cheers without me. I had documentation of my pregnancy signed by a physician and it was a simple thing to do at Guest Services (that FTTF line really helped out!). They may allow it if you have documentation from a physician. Worth a shot maybe?

  7. The 8 year old...you will carry their card...they are too young to be "out and about" on their own. A 17 year old should have the maturity and life-skills to keep track of a card...after all, a 17 year old is able to get a driver's license...and they don't lose that, do they?

Well, one would think but things happen. If the 8yo has the unlimited soda program, she will need her card, or whomever is with her to have it, to get a drink, correct?

  8. I ended up taking it, $569 per person is still below what I know the balcony rates were when we booked. It's out first vacation together and I think it will be a nice little surprise. I called instead of doing it online, and the lady was very helpful. She wanted to make sure I got one on port side because that's where good views will be when we dock/tender, and I told her I wasn't the happiest with the two I was offered so she went through all the available ones and we ended up with one on Lido, cabins above and below us. I am super excited about it!! Now I just have to keep it a surprise. :D

  9. We are sailing on the Glory in April, currently in an Oceanview on Main Deck Aft, kinda close to the elevators to Lido. We paid $419 + tax each for the cruise. The offer is for a Balcony for $300 total. I have never had a balcony, but this is our first trip together and I have always want to. But $300 seems a little higher than what I would pay to upgrade. Thoughts? Thank you!!

  10. I am planning a family cruise for June and several (ages 9 to mid-60s) want to try ziplining. Apparently there are several options available.

In Cozumel we are going to Chankanaab Park for the dolphin encounter. I noticed that there is a ziplining course there. The prices are higher than the other stops. Is it that much better?

In Belize we are using cavetubing.bz for tubing, but I found they have a combo tubing and ziplining tour. It's an additional $25 to add ziplining at Belize Zipline Adventure to the price of the cave tubing, which doesn't seem too bad a deal.

In Roatan we are taking the Victor Bodden tour. We can add ziplining at Mayan Jungle Canopy for an additional $45 each.

Have anyone tried 1, 2 or all 3 of the ziplines? If so, what would be best for a multi-generational group. None of us are extreme sports enthusiasts, but we're not couch potatoes either.

I have personally done the Victor Bodden ones in Roatan. We had an absolute blast with our guide, there were plenty of lines, and we had a photographer go with us and then was able to purchase a CD at the end with our pics. Everyone we met was wonderful, and then we got to check out the animals he has there, including 4 baby monkeys! I have ziplined in other locations (though not Belize or Cozumel), and these were fun because there were so many of them and we got to learn how to do tricks/go together/etc, but not really what you want if you are looking for a long lasting zip line up high over the jungle. These you more go through the jungle/grassy area surrounding.

  11. I have done ATD with both my Carnival cruises, including the Valor. Absolutely LOVE it. I have been with 2 of us and with 3 of us (so I know, smaller parties make it easier), but have never had a wait, and we have gone at all different times. Both cruises we found a wait staff in the first night or two that we loved and then requested their section each night after. The hosts knew us quickly and knew where we wanted to sit. I love the flexibility that you get, especially with the port days.

  12. Just got back from the Victory. I had heard from cruisers a couple weeks before us that they were able to buy liquor at the duty free shop in the terminal and carry it right on the ship in the plastic bag. They must have been lucky. I had just our 2 bottles of wine (for 3 people in our cabin) and I almost got strip searched to make sure it was wine and not liquor, not to mention they searched through the carry ons of the 2 people with me to ensure they didn't have anything.

You are allowed 1 bottle of wine or champagne per passenger over 21, anything else will be taken and held until the end of the cruise as long as it is in its original packaging.

Honestly, we just buy a couple bottles from Bon Voyage and it is so worth not having to hassle about it.
