Which ship will you be on?
As above, newer ships have real refrigerators that get super cool. I know Symphony and Harmony have them - not just coolers like the older ships.

I’ll be on the Harmony.  Good to know they have a real fridge that could potentially keep milk cool enough.  Picking up some milk from the Windjammer and storing in the room fridge is my first choice.   The shelf stable milk is my contingency/back-up.

    Giving in to the toddler

    Sounds reasonable...

I’m trying to prep in advance to avoid issues.  Don’t want to be the cabin with an early rising toddler who has a meltdown who then wakes up the surrounding cabins who wanted to sleep in.

Kid is mostly happy go lucky but at 6AM even a short minute of crying can feel like ages when concerned about disturbing others.

  3. Ideally I could run to windjammer or do continental room service. But when I saw the kiddo loves milk, he wants milk shortly after waking. I’m trying to do all I can to mitigate any toddler meltdowns to wake up other cabins.
Room service would be hard to time just right with him waking up and not either waiting for the milk or being woken by room service.
Going down to windjammer would also risk meltdown as it will take time to get him and myself semi-presentable.
I figured the shelf stable would be the insurance plan for morning meltdown avoidance.   He has had it before and by trial/error found he will only drink the whole milk not 2% or any other variation.

  4. I’m cruising with a toddler who absolutely wakes up asking for milk so I need milk ready for them each morning. I picked up shelf stable milk to bring in case the room fridge isn’t cold enough to store milk.  Since milk is a free drink item and not alcohol, do I still need to pack it in my carryon aka diaper bag or can it go in the luggage?  I initially thought luggage but then I wondered if it would get flagged and I would have to go to the naughty luggage room since on x-ray it would appear as a liquid and they wouldn’t think milk versus booze/soda..

    Thoughts?

  5. I’m bringing my 2 yr old on an extended family cruise in July. We will be on the Harmony OTS. On deck 5 there is a running path that goes all the way around the ship. I was planning on visiting that deck often with the kiddo to let them run around and get the crazies out.  Would that be considered rude or poor behavior??? First time cruising with a kiddo or on this class of ship but I cannot imagine that area being too crowded or heavily used.

  6. I’ll be in a junior suite on the Harmony OTS. From all of the room pictures and YouTube videos I have seen this room doesn’t have any room divider type curtain.

I’ll just be putting it around the pack and play not really dividing the whole room. Reaching the ceiling for hanging using magnetic hooks isn’t a concern as DH is 6’0 tall and BIL (in different room, same trip) is 6’4” tall.

  7. For those of you who bring a curtain to hang in the room for privacy, what kind of curtain do you bring? I keep going back and forth between shower curtain (obviously not the clear liner type) and window curtain. If window curtain, what length?  My toddler will be in a pack n play and I’m planing on hanging a curtain around that. First time cruising with a kiddo so this type of cruise item is new to me.

In January, I sent off my US passport for renewal.  Took about 4 weeks to get my new one. Oddly enough still waiting on getting my old one back.

On, Feb 5th, my young (under 5) DS applied for his first passport. I’ll update when I get his back.

DS just got his passport … took less than a month.

  9. Also request the pack n play in advance! They have limited numbers of them. Once requested, it should show up in your cruise documents/receipts.

My in-laws are paying for my next cruise (yahoo!!!) and their travel agent put in the request. I can see the pack n play on the invoice.

Thanks. Where do you pre-order them from.

Since posting links is frowned upon, do a search for Royal Caribbean Diapers. One of the top search results should be their direct page for ordering.

edit: the brand they sell is Huggies.

I thought this meant I can’t wear any hair spray LOL I was in a panic thinking about my curly hair becoming an unruly birds nest. Mama needs her anti-humidity hair spray! 😂

So glad, to know I’m not the only one who initially thought about hairstyling products and not entertainment shows!

  12. Does anyone know how often the official Royal Caribbean excursions go on sale? I know Black Friday (day after American Thanksgiving) is a great day for sales. My next cruise departs before that. My son is too young for a COVID vaccine so if we want to get off the boat we need to book an RC excursion. Right now they are 5% off which doesn’t seem like a sale to me. I was hoping someone might know when traditionally sales have occurred. I know I could book now and then cancel/rebook if the price goes down. But I’m not sure if I want to obsess that much over the price.
