  1. Hello all! I am Joanne, husband-Don and friend-Dawn. I know too many D's but I personally call him Donny. I've sailed with both D's but not all 3 of us together. We're all excited to try something different besides the Bahamas and Caribbean. As soon as Carnival bought the Venezia I wanted to try it out but already had cruises booked so had to wait til 2024. We've always wanted to travel north. Glad to meet you all!

  2. Thanks for sharing, I'll be on her 4/22-5/1 for a B2B. I'm going to guy sea bands tomorrow (I set my phone reminder as I keep forgetting). The cruise that got off 4/13 had a horrible time with sickness as there was a storm. I always take Meclizine but that work if you can't keep anything down. I hope you're all better now! Oh and just to let you know you can get your free water at any bar and you can get your free drink after 5 on your last day at any bar or in the MDR. You have to go to Pixels to get your pin. We had gotten an email reminding us, they changed it after Covid.

  3. Hello, we went to Warwick in September 2022 and had a great time. It does have a "beach" with sand, but no waves as it's on the harbor, but great pool with umbrellas. The drinks were unlimited but very watered down. I'm not a big drinker- only takes 1 Carnival drink to get me buzzed and I drank 10 Mango Dreams (they used clear Rum and I believe they diluted it, I could taste it on the top but very small amount). You can only choose 2 menu items and I forgot to take pics of the food but it was average. They did have a DJ playing music and trying to get some interaction but only a few played. Depending on what you're looking for. I looked at RIU and it looked more party scene for sure. We had Breezes scheduled but cancelled after people in my roll call said it was dirty and needed work. We're heading back in April and now I'm looking at Sandals to splurge for our 25th anniversary. Melia is supposed to be done in April/May 2023 too. We left at 3 and were back at ship at 3:15 but there was major traffic, so I see why they recommend leaving early, if there was a wreck, you could be in trouble!!

    Here's a video

I finally made because all the other ones I could find were older.  Video description- September 2022-We reserved our day pass at Resort For a Day for $110 , adults only, all inclusive. This was from 10 to 6. It took 10-15 minute taxi ride from the port. We got there before 9 and they would not let us leave the lobby till 10. It did include all you can drink, but you can only choose 2 items off the menu. I did not get pictures of the food, it was average. This was a relaxed resort with plenty of spots in or out of the sun. They did have a DJ that came around 1130 and hosted some games. There was not a true beach, this is on the harbor and there was a roped off section with sea grass and lots of fish. Great view of boats and great staff. Towels are included, so you don’t have to pack yours. Check the price of the taxi for the way back, it was $10 for both of us there from the ship, but the 2nd taxi said $18 when he dropped us off back at the ship. Feel free to ask any questions!

I'm not a terribly experienced cruiser so please forgive me if this is a "common knowledge" question.

I am booked on a cruise (not yet paid in full) and the same cruise in the room next door is now about $40 cheaper.  Not a huge amount, obviously, but everything else seems to be the same ($25 on board credit).

I can't find on Carnival's site (maybe they don't list it) whether you can cancel and rebook at the lower fare, or whether you can call and they'll give you the difference, or anything like that (perhaps the answer is "none of the above.")

    What do you normally do?

I have booked with a PVP/travel agent and Carnival. If I booked with a PVP/TA, I contact them about the lower rate, if I booked with Carnival I call them and they give me the lower rate and deduct the money off the cruise since it's not paid for. Once it's paid for you will get the extra money as on-board credit. I have called up to the week before the cruise to receive onboard credit

  7. Thanks for sharing Ron and Michelle! We are heading on the Mardi Gras in 42 days and am excited to get prepared with your review.  Great pictures and thanks soooo much for the fun times. I'm a nerd and read fun times, all the menus and drink choices and deck plans before I go on a ship! We are from Buckhannon, WV and now live in NC. We travel home and pass by Princeton every time on the way up and down. Glad to meet you!

  8. Thanks for the update everyone, I’ll be on the Magic in 6 days in a spa balcony and am so excited!!! I was wondering about sushi options, when I had booked her a year ago I thought she had Bonsai Sushi but I just looked at all the food options and don’t see any sushi except as a tray delivered to your room. Even the Glory had sushi and she’s older.
Also did anyone go to the thermal spa? Is it crowded? Do you have to wear a mask relaxing on the heated chairs?
    Thanks in advance! 😊

  9. Thanks for all the info! I was wondering about the mid internet package as we've had the social one and couldn't do anything without it taking an hour. We've never been on the Horizon or similar and are excited for a bigger ship. So many food choices!!! 42 days and I'll be looking at that beautiful water!

  10. We did YTD on the Glory in May and the most wait was 5-10 minutes and that was just 1 night out of 7. You couldn't check in on the Hub app. We love YTD because sometimes we were hungry as soon as it opened and other times, we got there at 8:30. And we would also schedule it around our plans for the evening. We also like it because you can choose to sit by yourself in different parts of the MDR versus on the set time, they set you at the same table with other guests, unless  you had pre-requested to be alone with the maitre d. Enjoy your vacation!

  11. This helped a lot! This is an awesome deal. Wish I had known about this before I paid for my cruise and excursions! Could have saved $500!!

You’re welcome! This is my 1st time using it and I’ve done 7 cruises. I saw AARP mentioned on here before but always thought they were talking about the membership.

  12. What is the discount with AARP and where do you find the info to purchase the cards?

It’s a savings of 10%. I just bought a $500 gift card for $450 with 5000 points I earned from taking quizzes on rewards for good on the AARP website. Once you earn your points, click on gift cards tab or purchase and look for Carnival. It came in 3 business days by UPS but you have to sign for it. I called UPS and had them send it to their holding location since we were at work when they came 3 times!

  13. It’s similar to most private islands with the beach day and lunch that’s included. It’s not as pretty as HMC’s white sand IMHO but it offers great snorkeling because of all the rocks. Definitely pack water shoes and if you walk opposite of the food you can find secluded areas on the shore with beautiful tide pools with tiny fish and sea urchin and other creatures. We rented a clam shell last time and it was Hot under it. This time we’re renting a cabana (bungalow on carnival’s excursion site) for my friend’s 40th Birthday. They fit 4 people and you get air conditioner with 4 chairs and towels inside and 4 reserved lounges outside. There are some YouTube videos of the island giving tours and showing the bungalows. Oh yeah, you can also leave the “private” area and see what the locals are selling. It’s near where the tender (water shuttle) docks. We got some great wooden sea creatures. Have fun!

As you can see there is a fence to keep the sting rays enclosed. We decided to walk the island when we were there in May. It really wasn’t that far and it’s on a paved road. We got there early and the guys were mending the fence getting ready for the excursion. There was a bathroom and platform to sit and watch. I included the map so you could see the walking trail. We did have a tram pass us but they weren’t going to pick us up, they had a set schedule of excursions. We also walked around to the kayaking area and saw a garden for the people that stay on the island. We met the gardener and he showed us around and let us have some fresh vegetables! That was our highlight talking to the gardener. We finished the day with a lounge on the beach under a tree. Last time we went in November, we headed out early and found hammocks and hung out there. By the time we got to the beach in May, all the hammocks were taken.

I understand you have a cane, and it may be a long walk for you. But honesty, I would feel short changed to do the sting ray excursion there at HMC. I felt bad for the rays in that tiny enclosure. They did had conch, starfish and sea cucumber friends. Grand Cayman would be so much better as what I understand they’re free but know they get fed. Ours was cancelled because of wind so I don’t know.

I did a picture review while on the Glory if you want to see more pictures [emoji4]

  15. We had free WiFi at McDonald’s not too far from senor frogs and it was slow so then went a couple stores down and got it a local restaurant. Ordered some conch fritters and a drink to use it but there were plenty of people using it wi hour buying anything. It was fast! b3b9a7be5d8cda4797c9f1607bbff6a3.jpg

  16. I am taking my friend on the Ecstasy 2/20-2/25 2019 for her 40th Birthday and was going to surprise her with a cabana at Princess Cay on her actual birthday 2/22. I tried to book it with an option of remaining private and didn’t see that option. I called Carnival and they said it is not an option for the excursion to just be on my cruise manager and not hers. They said there is no way to make it private! How is that possible with all the technology today?

So I guess I just book it and hope she doesn’t see it. I would wait till the last minute but what if they’re all booked? My friend ordered me gifts on my last cruise and I didn’t know anything about it until it was delivered, so why can’t this be the same?
