  1. Hello. I appreciate that this is a very random request, and a long shot, however cruise critic folk are very helpful so I'll try anyway.  On the Arcadia world cruise we were booked  on a Quad bike P.O excursion to Casela nature park in Mauritius on 25th March.     Me too. Mine has been pending for 2 days. Not sure why.  I have received  the p.o email as I was due to disembark in Dubai and had  booked a 3 day post cruise stay.  Now disembark Cape Town on 1st April. No update  about flight back to Manchester.

    My rule of thumb when applying for visas is to go for the highest level one as that normally covers all scenarios as one thing that has to be allowed for is the unexpected.

  4. Hello. Just been looking at the Roll call comments and posts re the  Arcadia world cruise and related segments of this cruise. We are joining in Hong Kong ( 2 nights  hotel stay pre cruise) and disembark in Dubai ( 3 night hotel post cruise stay). Do we need to apply  for ETA for the 1 day the ship is in Colombo? I have not been given any information but now I am wondering if it's our responsibility, if required, or does P.O sort this on board. Thank you for any advice. Never been to this part of the world and it's rather daunting, especially with the "fending for ourselves" aspects involved pre/ post cruise but didn't want to go to HK and not have any  time to actually see HK or have time in Dubai and just transit to fly back to UK. Any other advice most welcome however trivial. Thank you

     I am surprised at the MDR wine not kept with cabin number for the following evening. This  was available on Britannia in February.  We did note that we could take the wine out of MDR in the  glasses provided  whereas  previously we had to decant into generic wine glasses to take out.

  6. Hello. Went to Oistins on Friday 24th Feb. Great experience and yes the stage music is  loud, very much like a music festival with people dancing. It's crowded but everyone seems to be there to enjoy the atmosphere. It was 10 dollars per person each way from the Port if sharing taxi. Quoted 40 dollars if non share.

  7. I am not affected by any cabin changes and feel for the OP, however I do wonder why P.O seem to use the most sought after cabins as presumably isolation cabins. If,  unfortunately,  passengers have to be moved to isolation cabins then one would assume that they do not require what would be deemed the most popular choices.  Why disappoint so many other pax?  Why not use standard balcony cabins?  I do not understand the logic.

  8. Hi. I agree. I uploaded photo of myself and partner exactly the same way, and got the required tick to say completed. At Southampton was informed that mine was blank so taken again  at check in then on boarding  was told no picture ! So guy took it again practically   on the gang plank lol . no idea what it looked like but after the stress of  lft test and the result  wait I didn't care about photo profile.

  9. Hi. I have been reading this thread but not previously  commented. I am also on the 1st April cruise, rebooked on this  additional sailing as I was  originally booked on part of the Aurora cancelled world cruise. I thought that "shared table" dining was not possible anyway and only booking or linked pax could be seated together. That we can cope with, but we really want to enjoy the shows, entertainment and dancing on Aurora. Am also hoping that Sindhu re-opens as this is  a significant birthday cruise whilst away and hoped to celebrate ( with a special meal even if just the 2 of us ) Daren't tell partner that there's a possibility the cruise may be cancelled. We were  booked on the March 2020 transatlantic on Azura which  was cancelled only days before sailing so he will think we are jinxed as this is our 2 year  long awaited  return cruise.  Staying positive.

    OK. I didn't think that pre registration was available for these 2 cruises. My mistake as I would have pre registered. Glad I rang early though. Thanks

    Well done to those of you that got cabins of your choice.

    I am wondering if some agents or P.O were taking bookings prior to 9am. I rang my T.A at 9 am literally on the clock strike and, although on hold for  15 minutes, when I requested a few certain cabins I  was  informed that the entire cabin grade was sold out. That was for an Inside on  the Canaries  cruise not even Balcony 

    or Suite . Difficult to believe. I did manage to book an alternative grade  and notice that  the price has now increased significantly. Fingers crossed that next year's cruises go ahead for everyone.

    We were expecting it to not go ahead in the original format, but did think we would be offered a replacement (more than likely around the UK) but no.

    It just says they will release some alternate itineraries will be released next week for those wanting some winter sun next week ... so I'm guessing down to the Canaries/Portugal/Spain, ie any destination wanting to reboot their tourist industry.

    I guess we will just have to wait and see ...

    Hello. I have  not posted for awhile, although still keeping  up with you all. Just had the unfortunate cancellation email re Aurora part world cruise for next March. Gutted  as this was booked on launch day. So that's every cruise from March 2020 transatlantic through to March 2022  cancelled. So sorry for everyone booked on Arcadia or Aurora for early  2022.

    Thank you for the link. I hope the insurance issue can be resolved for the benefit of all. Surely some of the most reputable insurance companies should be now putting together a suitable policy for these, albeit new, staycation sailings especially as various cruise lines are making this decision. They would have the monopoly and a perfect target market. I think personally that most of us would purchase a policy just for the staycation cruise and then purchase annual insurance at a later date if that is their usual purchase preferences due to number of cruises.

    Your link worked for me so that was great. My fault as that was the page i ckecked but  didnt read the front headlines LOL - went immediately to find a cruise. Too eager to find a suitable cruise - but I am thinking will still be too pricey. Cheers

    Thank you - will do. Dates and prices are what would like to know. So much to check out now with all the UK staycations. Wish they had all launched this week for comparison.  Waiting for the Celebrity info as well but FOMO on the better cabin options makes waiting more difficult.

    now THIS is a cruise to nowhere I’d be happy with, the onboard experience is more than enough to want to sail with them. A luxury experience with Disney, what more could you ask for 😅👍

    Hello joeecco. Please can you tell me where i can find more information re the Disney 2-4 nights as you mentioned. I have been on the Disney cruise official page but only 7 nights from Dover showing. Cant find any shorter cruise info.Thank you.

    Did Staysure say why they would not cover onboard medical expenses?

    Surely a misunderstanding of some kind with the insurer and OP initial question. Surely all Travel insurance that include cruise cover would cover any onboard medical requirements. I have booked a staycation cruise but not  ventured into the insurance purchase as yet. Waiting for the perfect answer on here as someone always provides the solution.

    Well it really is very easy, but it depends on which company you use. 

    P&O recommend CPS. you'll see a link in your booking, and maybe you have a free parking option with your cruise. either way this is the simplest option. 

     

    It is a great service. so. If you do book with them. In your confirmation email, will be an attachment, with a sign to put in the front windscreen, usually it will say AZU, eg for Azura, and so on, and full details of their phone number should you have a problem.

     

    As for arrival time, be guided by the terminal and time that P&O will give you, and follow directions, in whatever way you like to use, eg sat-nav, to the terminal. you will be nice and close , so you will have plenty of time to get there. 

     

    As you get to the dock gate for your terminal, there will be CPS signs to guide you right to the ship. there will be staff there too, pointing the way for you. Stop and ask if you want to. 

     

    Literally, you will be guided to join the queue ( usually not long)  right by the ship! There will be CPS staff waiting, they will call you forward, and you will stop and turn off your car engine. The really nice member of staff will look over your car etc, and take your booking details, and give you a receipt, for your key, to keep safely , as you will need that on the day you come home. A porter will come over to you and take the cases you want him to take, and you hold onto what you wish to carry on yourself. 

     

    the lovely member of staff will ask if you have got everything out of the car that you will need, and then will wish you a great holiday. you walk away and your car will be driven off to a secure place, for the duration. 

     

    Don't worry if you come back to a different terminal, from the one you left from, or even if it is changed last minute due to any technical issues. CPS will know.

     

    On return, when you get off ship and have cases, you walk out and there will be staff who will point you in the direction of a car park just opposite the terminal. You walk over, hand in your receipt to the person in the hut type thing, and you will get your key and told which zone your car is parked in. 

    Sadly then, you have to drive home .

     

    There are other companies you can park with but this I'd say for you, is the best option.

  19. Hello. I haven't posted for a long time,  but have been  following topics avidly. With the announcement of the  staycation cruises I am considering the Britannia 4 night. Previously we have always booked Select and used the courtesy coach, however we would want to drive down a few days  prior and stay, perhaps Southsea,   then drive to port.  Please could others advise how the parking system works. I believe it is hassle free but I have no idea what to do and I  get rather anxious in unknown situations  so I like to be prepared. Do we get an allotted time and told where to go to drop off luggage then do we park the car? Sorry this may seem trivia to those  experienced. I know the port probably will not not as busy as we usually experience but there seems to be cars everywhere when the coach pulls into port terminal. Do we then have to go and find the car after the cruise. I can misplace mine in the supermarket car park,so that could be another day searching added to holiday LOL. Thank you. Viv

    Hi. Booked for the Hong Kong to Dubai section of the cruise, so fingers crossed it will go ahead. Should be in Iceland  now, also on Aurora, which was booked on launch day.

    Good afternoon to all who have helped me to  stay positive whilst  in the 100+ club. I can now announce  wait for it , drum roll ............ just checked my credit  card and YES. Refund received.  Seems like the  last emails  to CEO office  and to cruise TA CEO may have produced a result. Wow. Hope others in the 100+ club  also have good news . Thanks everyone.

    Hi Graham & Hampshire Steve. Unfortunately so. The postman has  just this moment walked straight past without delivering any mail, so no cheque yet again. I honestly do not know what else I can do. I have emailed all the contacts from several pages ago on this thread and although I have had an acknowlegment email nothing more positive. I have considered a Section 75 but realise that they are also inundated and that action would also  take several more weeks. I really wish that all   the March 100 day club  could now  report a happy ending, but we may at least be able to go out for a meal to celebrate when we do receive the refunds.

    Hi Steve. I am also now  beyond stressing about the refund. Latest in my debacle, another call to p.o  yesterday informed me that I am now due a cheque refund , which I know from this thread seems to be the norm. I have asked this  very question to the T.A and P.O on every call and been assured it will be a card refund. So now accosting the poor postman every day instead of my card log in. Postman came earlier with a lovely brochure for "cruises with confidence in 2021 and beyond."  Am seriously thinking of making an  in exceptional circumstances request for OBC or at  least my FCC to be used against the May 21 IONA booking.
