  1. You could have a car waiting for you for £289/$426 seating 4 comfortably with luggage transfer to Heathrow.

1PM flight is just enough of a realistic time, realistic with you docking at the posted time and being able to debark. If the ship is late due to weather or water or fog, then you should factor that into your flight time unless you can change your flights if you are late.

Advertised arrival times for cruises to Dover is 9.30 am, assuming a swift disembarkation and getting bags say 10 am outside, then 90 mins transfer by motorway if clear to the airport that's 11.30 am, all transatlantic flights have check in starting at four hours so a flight at 1 pm is open at 9 am and closes two hours before say 11 am.

It's far too tight and the M25 has jams regularly.

I say not before 3 pm and so does DCL.

Big tides affected arrival of one cruise in 2010 so I would not recommend booking this early.

I live an hour from the port.

  2. Hello. Thinking of making the leap to the Walt Disney Suite (8030). Who has been there (or the Roy O. suite)? Any issues with noise above?

If anyone has pix of the Royal Suites post-refurb, that would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I have stayed in 8030 on the Wonder there were NO noise issues, and NO noise issues ion the Magic in 8032 8034 8532 (bar a little from arcade machine) none in 8040, 8562 8564 8566.

  8. Do you have a preference between PALO brunch and REMY brunch since you have done both?

I assume that they are very different experiences.

    soccer

Each to there own each is great.

Preference is Remy dinner, it's so wonderful, it's dinner theatre, a performance its good so good. There are extras, the rose, the chocolates after. Tell them in advance of any allergies they will give you a set menu for you. Run with their suggestions. I like steak well done they said medium rare for Wayu steak they were correct.

Palo brunch so much to have the buffet the set plated food, the strawberry soup, the desserts.

Palo dinner, a great Italian experience.

All great but this is my preference order.

  9. Thank you to HOST Ex Techie for saying such nice things about my thread and my trip report, I am very glad you enjoyed it so much, and thank you for bumping it up again,

PS When I look at the thread as Ex Techie is on my ignore list I have the luxury of not seeing his posts, however for some reason on subscribed threads I do see an extract of the post highlighted, So thanks agin for the warm comments I might unignore you soon. So far circa 100,000 people have viewed my blog so I do not need to bump it up, I have had many very very very nice responses particularly on another board and it's helped many people get an insight to the reimaginedMagic and a Med cruise, it would be great if everyone here was positive here and contributed to people who are planning to cruise DCL in the future rather than the odd person who only can make negative comments and not actively contribute to the community.

The information on my trip report is up to date and from this month, so people haven't cruised DCL for three years but still post.

  10. We're doing a 4 day Dream cruise, and I am arranging a car service to pick up from port and take us to the airport (There are enough of us that it's cheaper than going through Disney Transport). What time should I request pickup? What time do people normally get off the boat?

You can normally get off from 7.30 am.

A lot depends on what breakfast sitting you are on and if you go to it.

Main breakfast is normally 7 am fixed and the late breakfast is 8.15 am

These are based on your evening MDR sitting main or late.

    So

No breakfast then set car from 7.45 am or 8 am.

Main breakfast and go to it. 8 am > 8.15 am.

Late breakfast and go to it then 9.00

Everyone should be off the ship by. 9 am.

Allow time to pick luggage up and border control.

  11. One of my favorite packages to receive in the mail. Cruise documents! They are even more special since most cruise lines don't even send these out anymore, and leave it to Disney to even customize them for Halloween. Just one of the many details that makes Disney Cruise Line special!

  12. I am still going through my pictures and I sure hope I took one that doesn't have a pole in it. :rotfl:

It's very hard not go get a pole in that view, or someone there getting food.
