Thank you all for answering - I now know what to do.

Didn't even know there was such a thing as a "night butler" and we're regular suite cruisers.

 

However, if this person is not the same person as your regular (daytime?) butler, then yes, I'd tip him when he provides the service, as you may not see him again. Our habit is to tip our regular butler at the end of the cruise.

I believe the regular butler gets off at 8 or 9pm. If you need, or want, anything after that you will get someone different. We have never used the butler that much, but I do get the munchies late at night sometimes! Yes, we always tip at the end of the cruise too.

We have stayed in a suite before and have used the butler, but never after hours. My question is, if you use the night butler, do you tip him then or at the end of the cruise?

Ours was NCL, on the Star, to Alaska in May of 08. We were hooked! Heading out on our 6th next month. Western, on the Pearl - can't wait.:)
