Independence on Nov 10! First full takeover cruise and are already on the countdown! We would love to get to know a few people ahead of time!
We are looking at booking this cruise as well. Did you book through Bliss directly or a travel company?
-
We did rent thru Island Marketing. I would recommend going thru Island Marketing or contacting the Harley Dealership and setting something up directly with them. Either way you will be more than satisfied!
-
We did rent bikes and had a great day!!!! We rode all the way around the island and stopped at many places, no issues at all.
This is something we would do again for sure..
One thing that was a bit tough is the map we were given wasn't the greatest and things are not marked really well so we did miss a few places we wanted to stop had some great unplanned stops!

Hi all....I really thought I read the answer to my question somewhere but now cannot find it and I cannot find any info on the Dollar Rental website....so here it goes:
Is there a shuttle for the Dollar Rental location right outside the port? We will be on the Allure Dec 4-11.
And if so how do we find it?
Thanks for the help and Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!

Has anyone stayed at The Drift in Fort Lauderdale
We stayed at The Drift in Feb. Rooms were very small but very very clean. We would definitely stay here again. Within walking distance of restaurants and bars. We used Uber from the airport and to the port.

Is Park Cafe a good place to hang out and have lunch once we board?
It is the best place to have lunch and be sure have one of the famous roast beef sandwiches!!!! They are amazing!!!!

No Fishermans platter, but Lobster Tail last night! Was asked if I'd like another:)
Yes please :):):)
LOL
-
Nope, didn't see lobster in the Windjammer on the 1st formal night on our Sept. 25 cruise. I would have snatched it up if it was.
As stated above there was lobster on the fisherman's platter, but no shrimp on the 2nd formal night in the MDR. Prior to coming to dinner, we looked at the Jasmine menu on the cabin TV and it stated shrimp included, but the paper menu in the restaurant excluded it.
Thanks for the response...the first formal night menu doesn't really look like it has anything that special on it? Or am I missing something?
Wondering if that would be a good night to book somewhere else.

On our last 2 Oasis sailings Lobster was available in the Windjammer on the 1st formal night.
Has anyone that has sailed on the Allure recently experienced this? We sure hope so!!!!!!

Super easy - when checking in, just tell them you have 4 people and give them both your room numbers. You can even make reservations in advance the same way.
We were just a couple when we were on Allure, but we could still dine at a table of 10 or get a table for 2 if we wanted a quiet night. You can specify what you feel like each night when you check in.
So glad to hear this!!! Thanks!:)

We have MTD for the first time (not by choice but early dining was full).
My DH and I along with another couple will be on this sailing and both have MTD. We did not book together (my husband won this cruise) and cannot get the reservation numbers linked, even after calling Royal 4 times.....
So for my question........ How hard will it be for the 4 of us to be able to dine together? I know we will be booking a specialty restaurant once or twice but the other nights....will it be hard to get a table for 4? And, actually we wouldnt have a problem dining on a larger table...love meeting others!

Sounds like all the more reason why to Self-disembark! I'm actually thinking of trying the ship to plane (or whatever they call it) where they send your bags straight to the airport.
We used the ship to plane service once when we had a group of 12. Within the group 5 were flying to Las Vegas and 7 were flying home. It was AWESOME!!! If we ever plan to go fly anywhere right off the ship we will always use this service. We had a rental van for the day and dropped the 5 off at the airport and the rest of us spent a few hours at the outlet mall in Orlando. So nice not to have all the luggage to worry about.
Most of our trips we spend a few extra days in Florida and do the self-disembark, which is always pretty quick and painless.
Those 2 will be the only options we use.

Anyone out there that has used this guide?

Didn't even think about this until reading this post....we will be renting a car once getting off of the Allure in December and heading to the Keys. We have rooms booked in Key West. What would be our best route? Will be getting off the ship as early as possible (carrying our own bags) so will have time for some stops along the way!

Stayed there two nights in June and loved it. Great location, nice little market right at the hotel, close to airport and Port Everglades. I was a little nervous about some of the bad reviews but experienced nothing negative.
What type of room and what was your room location?
Thanks!!!
-
I was checking the reviews on trip advisor for this motel and the current ones are not great......
I had been looking at this location for our December stay but think we will be going with the Best Western Oceanside

We are 14719! When are you cruising ?
I looked at the deck plans and it looks like we are right under the sports deck. I am hoping this is not going to be very noisy since we are far from the pools and the kids areas...
We will be on Dec 4th sailing
-
If we plan on being at one bar for awhile or on our pool days we always tip the bartender or server with our first drinks and normally have great service the rest of the time!!!!
Everyone appreciates a little bonus and we appreciate the great service!!!!
-
We didn't think about the noise and now reading this post I tried to find the layouts of the decks to see what our cabins are under and I cannot find them on Royal's website...we are in cabin 14716 and 14718....anyone have any idea what is directly about us?
Thanks :)

On our last 2 Oasis cruises lobster was served in the Wind Jammer on the first formal night. They had table set up off to the side with a server.
Sure hoping this will be the case on the Allure in December as well.
-
Was this recently? It's been a few years since we sailed Oasis.
It was in Feb 2016 and Jan 2015 so pretty recent :)
-
On our last 2 cruises (on the Oasis) lobster was served on the buffet on the first formal night and then in the dining room on the 2nd formal night....not sure if the Allure is the same but I sure hope so!!

Hi everyone,
Well so far I have 3 different hotels booked for our pre-cruise stay. As of right now we will be coming in the evening before our cruise. There are 4 of us (2 couples). We would like to have dinner and drinks when we do arrive. Here are my options so far:
Bahia Mar Ft. Lauderdale Beach- a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel
BEST WESTERN Plus Oceanside Inn
Ocean Beach Palace Hotel and Suites
Not sure which one to keep!!!
Shuttles or breakfast are not important to us....much more interested in good restaurants and bars for a Saturday night.
thanks!!!

Hi all,
We have never needed to rent a car post-cruise...but will this December.
Will this be pretty doable: Carry luggage off ship as early as possible, get to a rental place, and then a few days later return rental to their airport location.
We want to get off and get going as early as quickly as possible...would a better option be to Uber to a different rental location?
Thanks
Tampa Transportation from the Four Points Westshore

We are a group of 6 that will be staying at the Four Points Westshore. What would be our best form of transportation to the cruise port? With 6 of us there will be at least 9 pieces of luggage. This is our first time sailing out of Tampa so not clue what to expect. Thanks in advance for any advice!
