Please consider calling an audiologist and getting an evaluation for a cochlear implant! On our last cruise I saw a woman (she was about 60 maybe) with 2 cochlear implants. She was enjoying activities, conversing in the dining room, having a great time! Insurance will probably cover it and it will open many doors for you. Just consider it, have the evaluation. You can always choose not to do it! But it can be life changing. Of course you should go either way- ask what services they have for the hearing impaired- bed shakers for alarms, TTY or caption call for phone, interpreter services, etc. Being dead doesn’t mean the end of your enjoyment of these activities!!!! On the Magic there were vending machines for detergent. Only took sign & sail card. Only 1 (out of 3) washers were working.

We sail in October and are in room 10274 - the exact opposite from your room. This will be our first time on the Magic and first time this close to the actual Lido doors. What was your experience in the room and on your balcony?

Love the location! We've been in 10272 in the past. No noise from the Lido, so convenient. And you are near the laundry room- bonus if you have laundry to do. We always do a load 1/2 way through the cruise. 2 teenage boys who change clothes CONSTANTLY! Wasn't a fan of the Lido coffee, preferred the coffee bar (personal preference only). Never had trouble getting a seat in the Lido buffet. Had difficulty with getting a lounge chair in the shade on sea days. Casino was SUPER smokey- tried to avoid as much as possible. Smokers on our ship would light up wherever they wanted- no one told them otherwise. My husband said something twice to people smoking. No biggie, just don't like the smell. Someone was smoking on a balcony near ours. Our steward Ordin was AWESOME and so so nice. 88 keys was GREAT! Got there early- theater filled up quickly. Didn't see a comedy show. Love the Lido movies, too. We thought the dining room food was the best we've had on 4 cruises. I didn't eat in the buffet- not my thing, but my VERY picky step mom did and loved it. Have fun!!!

Just got off the Magic. New favorite ship! Food was AWESOME, entertainment was AWESOME, had the best time! Crew was great, never saw the ice cream machines out of order. Alchemy bartenders were the best! No complaints. Had room 10273- balcony on lido. Some delay in boarding (fog at the port) but otherwise perfect cruise [emoji4]

Just off the Magic- do laundry in the morning, less busy. The washer was $3 a load, dryer $3 a load. Brought my own detergent.

This is the best review EVER!! A lot of people would be dissing Carnival, Magic, etc for the mishaps, but you just take it in stride- so refreshing! "What?? No bacon mac & cheese?? I'm never sailing Carnival again!!" Lol!!! Thank you for taking the time to write this review and put a smile on our faces! What drinks did you try??

Easy! Cucina del Capitano restaurant, Twilight Zone frozen drink, enjoying coffee on the balcony in the morning, Red Frog Pub, people watching, leaving from Miami (beautiful port!), sitting on the comfy chairs in the shade on the Lido, piano bar, waterworks, ropes course, mini golf, 24 hour soft serve ice cream, Reuben sandwich through room service and most of all- the beautiful Caribbean Sea.

Not sure about the steakhouse, but the Italian rest. did have a kids menu. Saw it at table next to me.

Does anyone know if the Steakhouse and Cucina del Capitano have children's menus? We will be traveling with our 2 kids- age 13 & 10 and they are not big steak eaters, but we LOVE the specialty restaurants! Also don't want to pay $35pp for the kids to eat a burger.

I brought walkie talkies for my two 16 year olds they were $25 at Walmart and as long as your on the same channel they worked perfect

We have 2 kids going with us, age 13 & 10. What is the best way to communicate with them on the ship? I've read somewhere about texting through a Carnival app and another about walkie talkies. Suggestions?
