I was cancelled as well and had an fcc that was applied. The FCC would have expired but the PCC got approval to extend it. Not sure how this going to work to reschedule. I have done a courtesy hold for another cruise the week before and emailed what is supposed to be my new PCC as the original PCC is long gone. Sucks to be honest.

I was there for the May 21st cruise. The tram ride was cancelled due to the amount of ice that had to be cleared from the roadway. The gondola was open and we rode it several times so that we felt we got our money's worth. The excuse we got for the closure was that there was 17 foot of ice. We enjoyed the hike around and the multiple trips. In this case, the shore excursions through the ship were cheaper since we had a loyalty discount and the shore excursion credit. So for two people we only paid around 45 bucks for the both of us.

Hope you feel better soon. I was on this cruise as well. Luckily no symptoms or illness as of yet.
Â
Victoria debarkation was a total sh*tshow. The captain should have given us more time in the port. This would have alleviated the crowding at the exit points. Seattle is very close at this point and we still would have made our scheduled dock time.

Based on feedback from here I reached out to my PC. They said I could go back to old booking but they claim that when I asked about the price reduction that they were not aware of the changes. Hmm...
-
Final payment for my May cruise was approaching so I checked to see if the price dropped and to my surprise it actually did drop. I email my PC and they got back to me right away processing the drop. Unbeknownst to me was that since they changed the program recently for the perks that this price changed seems like it was a rebook. Before I had 2 specialty meals included and now it is only one. Also, my "free" internet could have been upgraded on one device for 85 bucks. Now to get unlimited on one device I have to pay 175 bucks and now the available upgrade for internet makes you select both guests unless you specifically look for the other option. IN my opinion this is disingenuous at best. I should be allowed to retain the original perks that I signed up for. If I had know I would lose them I would just have kept the original price. Is this common knowledge or something new?

Agreed. I have leftover CruiseNext certificates that will essentially be worthless at the end of this year. I would happily place them on a cruise in 2023 but I will look elsewhere since they didn't work with me to extend or at least combine the two I had for a cruise in May. Shame on them.

This is not good for the cruise industry as a whole. If whole ships are turned around then this could be the beginning of the end for the restart. I am so grateful I was able to take a holiday cruise last week.

Current refund form will not allow for input of a sail date later than May 14th.

Absolutely ridiculous. My cruise is May 23rd and I cannot even request a refund after they have cancelled the cruise. The form is not updated. This is why the call center will be overloaded today.

Just tried to book a cruise in May. At first I can pick the date but when I go to select the cabin the system picks a date that is actually available. The first date is July 4th out of Seattle. Interesting.

I have a cruise specific travel policy from an online carrier recommended here. Flights were booked independently. This policy has a CDC clause in it that states, if the CDC says you cannot travel to an area than I would be covered. I am guessing, but not sure, that since all non-essential travel and travel by cruise is not recommended then I would be covered. I am guessing the insurance company knows that I will eventually get reimbursed from the cruise line but I am going to have argue about the flights. Also, the airlines and cruise lines are offering future credits but if I take them then the insurance believes I have been reimbursed so they won't pay out. I would prefer the cash back now at this point. Â

Sitting in the same proverbial boat. Have a cruise booked on the Joy, May 23rd, out of the closed port of Seattle to a destination that is forbidden until at least July. It is almost criminal that NCL has not at least acknowledged that they are not going to happen. I have insurance but still. Â

Hello,
Â
I am booked for May Alaska cruise on the Joy. To date, I have received nothing from NCL as to the status of this cruise. Fortunately, I purchased travel insurance that includes a provision that states if the CDC says not to travel to a location that I would be covered. Now the CDC has issued that cruises cannot sail and that no one should do any nonessential travel. My question is do I cancel the airfare and cruise and take my chances with the insurance paying or do I take the FCC's and an airline credit? My preference is to get the cash just because of the uncertainty of the future of cruising. I am playing chicken right now with NCL because I know they have to cancel the cruise since the port of Seattle is closed as well as Canada. Do I wait for them to cancel or cancel myself, get the cancellation receipt and collect from the insurance? The airfare is tricky too because I still want the cash back and not a credit. If I cancel and then the insurance denies the claim I would be out of the money all together. Never had to cancel before and wasn't sure of the process. Thanks for the help.

Royal Caribbean now has a cruise that mimics the days of the Veendam sailings. They use the Empress of the Seas to dock at Hamilton and then go around to St. George's. 4 days of bliss in Bermuda and no dockyard. They moved this ship out of the Cuba market.Â

Do you know what the code is? The deal was too good to pass up and I booked a cruise from the list but didn't get my $200 credit. Still working with my TA to get it fixed.
No code but I emailed cruisenext@ncl.com and got a response quickly. Â

Hello everyone,
Â
I have learned so much from the boards here that I wanted to return a little information. I feel that I got an incredibly good deal on a cruise that I just booked. First, I was able to do a double up offer and combine two certificates. Then as I was looking at the terms and conditions there is another promotion that gives you another $200 OBC for select cruises. Just as luck would have it, my cruise qualified. However, my PCC didn't enter it right and it wasn't showing on my confirmation. So a quick email got me the credit. Plus, I received 20 percent off for Latitudes and extra cruise points. I am amazaed at the deal.
Â
It might be worth checking out if you are going to Alaska or Asia. Just my two cents.

I just called as well about a booking I had for 2020 on the Pride of America. The Latitudes offer was added without having to rebook. However, I asked about the free airfare and was told that it didn't apply to POA. However, when I try a mock booking I can add a free night hotel pre-cruise and get reduced/free airfare as an offer. I am currently booked with prepaid gratuities. Seems weird.

Thanks again!

That is a relief. 1/4 mile walk isn't too bad. Is luggage drop off easy? I envision dropping off the luggage, parking, and then taking in the sights around the terminal before boarding..
Â
Thanks!

That's good news that you will be in Waltham! I called around this morning and spoke to the cruiseport folks. They recommended parking at the BRA-EDIC Marine Industrial Park Garage at 12 Dry Dock Avenue. I called them at 617-482-2487 and was told that parking would be $140 for the week and to just show up.
Â
If you choose to do this, I would arrive early by 10:30 am. Hope this helps.
Â
Meanwhile someone at the cruiseport is supposed to call me back tomorrow about the confusing state of their new website. If they want folks to choose to sail from Boston, the parking options have to be clear for every cruise, which they certainly are not at this time.
Â
Wow...thank you! I appreciate the effort. The website is very confusing as people are expecting a big lot to park and to have a shuttle. However, none of that will be available.
Â
Thanks again!
Booked inside cabin - having regret.....

I do not like green eggs and ham. However, I love inside cabins as I get to cruise more. Not in the cabin much and when I am in the cabin, I love the complete darkness for the best sleep of the year.
