Hi - We're going to be staying on night in a hotel on the Brazilian side of the Iguazu Falls and would like to travel over to the Argentinian side of the falls as well. Has anyone done this, and how did you do it (tour guide, bus, etc.)? I read that American citizens need to show a "reciprocity document" to cross the border. Does anyone know what the is and how to obtain one?
Thanks for your help!

What other Brazilian ports do you have on your itinerary?
The only other Brazilian ports are Ilha Grande and we end up in Rio. Can't wait for Rio!!

Personally I'd just spend the day at the beach in Guaruja.
With time spent in rush hour traffic both ways, you won't have much time to see the city, and it is not really a touristic destination, but a business capital. Lots of highrises/skyscrapers, a few second rate museums and shopping/restaurants you can find in any other world city.
Thanks for your advice! I was starting to think that staying around Santos would be better myself. I appreciate your help!

Hi - We're going to be on an NCL cruise that will be in port in Santos, Brazil from 7:00 AM to 6 PM mid-week and would like to book a non-ship tour to São Paulo. Does anyone know of a tour company that does that tour?
Thanks for your help!

Thank you so much for your advice! These are two of the tour companies that I looked into previously and know that they are both rated highly on Trip Advisor. I've contacted both of these companies today. I really appreciate your feedback. :-)

Hi - Our NCL cruise goes to Punta del Este,Uruguay and Montevideo, Uruguay at the end of March. I've been researching these ports on Tripadvisor, hoping to book a private tour, but there doesn't seem to be too much to do there in these ports and I can't really even find tour companies for Punta del Este. Has anyone hired any tour companies in these ports, or have any recomendations? Thanks in advance for your help!
Swimming in Ocean in Brazil
in South America

My husband and I will be heading to Brazil and were planning on doing some swimming and snorkeling in Ilha Grande and at the Copacabana Beach in Rio, but someone warned us about the terrible pollution in the ocean around Brazil. Has anyone swam in either of those places and if so, how was it? Thanks!
