  1. Hi, I was on the Emerald last December and had the Premier package. I will get the premier package again, partly for the classes. I would take 2-3 each day. None of the classes are too difficult, they are mostly entry level and you can ramp up the intensity on your own if you find that the classes are not difficult enough.

The classes did sometimes get full. I usually got there about 15-20 minutes early, I would put my water bottle and towel on a mat and go use the machines while I waited.

I think you will find that the classes are a fun way to keep active while on the cruise. I also met a lot of nice people who were also in the classes.

    Enjoy!!

We go back far enough to remember the Midnight "Show" buffet with marzipan sculptures, Ice carvings (that were created earlier in the day by the pool), mounds of shrimp, lobster, and too many other delicacies to count. (and the huge chocolate fountain😇)

    Those were very special days!!

  3. Buying a bottle on the ship and having it delivered to your room and make your own drinks.

    The streamers at sail-a-way

Getting the docs delivered, I know it makes more sense the way it is done now, but, boy, it was so exciting.

Getting a phone call stating that the price had gone down and I could either upgrade or get OBC

No specialty restaurants, which are fine, but I think the quality of the food has suffered in the main dining rooms

And, I loved the horse races, where the teams would build up to it by dressing themselves and the horses up.

I also remember paying $2700.00 for 2 of us for 7 nights in a stateroom with a window, now we are paying $1600.00 for 8 nights for 2 in a balcony cabin and these two cruises are 34 years apart.

So, not all bad and still absolutely a great vacation :)

  4. I have booked an Alaskan cruise for next summer. I booked 2 cabins on line, one for my husband and myself and one for my sister and brother-in-law.

I paid for the deposit for both cabins and used my phone number and e-mail address for both.

(We often travel with family or friends and I usually make all the arrangements).

    Now, my question:

I called Princess and asked the representative to link our two bookings together, so that we can sit at the same dining table.

I was told that I could make the request for myself and my husband, but not for my inlaws. I explained that I had made the booking and all the information is in my name, but was told that they would have to contact Princess and request to sit with us for dinner.

Although I guess I understand that someone might try to sit with someone that does not want to sit with them, this has never happened to me on Princess or any other cruise line.

Has this happened to anyone else and if so, what did you do?

I know I could call back and say I am my sister in law and request the reservations to be linked, but that doesn't seem right.

If I call back, and get another representative, will they link the reservations?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

  5. We just got off the ship last Sunday in Barcelona. Our flight was scheduled for 10:25 am. I went to the front office and confirmed that we would be with the first group off the ship (two out of three in our party had this scheduled, the third did not, so we fixed that), we got our luggage tags and were in one of the first groups off the ship.

We also had HAL transport to the airport. Our group was assigned to get off the ship at between 6:30 am and 7:00 am. There are no announcements yet at this time, you just leave on your own. We got off the ship, located our luggage (which was very easy, as it was only those on our flight and one other flight in our group). We brought it over to get weighed and it was sent to the airport. We got our boarding passes, walked out to the bus and were taken to the airport, about 20 minutes away.

Since we were checked in, had boarding passes and had no luggage to check, we just went through security, went to the gate and had about 2 1/2 hours to wait for our flight to leave.

    Very easy to do.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask :)

  6. Dear afternoon tea lover's;

I am taking 14days Panama cruise on coral princess on Dec 1.

Hoping to enjoy some afternoon tea on board especially on sea days.

This is our first princess cruise and am wondering if princess offer afternoon tea. If they do, do they have it everyday? Where do they have it? Is it formal or self serving?

Thank you for your reply in advance.:)

I took this cruise last January. Yes, they do have afternoon tea in the dining room. It is very nice, it is formal with white glove service, served to you. Relaxing and enjoyable. I only went a few times, always on sea days, so I'm not sure if they have it on port days.

Also, it's not quite afternoon tea, but there is a cart that brings the tea and goodies to you at the pool area. Very nice:)
