  1. We will be taking a 7 day Caribbean cruise on Fantasy in the Spring, and definitely want to book this for my LO as she was too young to do it the last time we took at Disney Cruise. Does Disney offer this more than once on a Cruise? is it on an "At Sea" day? Can anyone tell me what day/time it occurs? Do people book a bibbity bobbity boutique experience beforehand as well so they are all decked out as princesses for the tea?

  2. If you're a foodie, it's absolutely worth it. I'm a total food snob, and was very impressed with our meal and whole dining experience. I believe I heard Remy is the only restaurant on a cruise ship that has a Michelin star. Not to be missed.

  3. That is one awesome OOT Bag!!! You've given such great ideas!! Thank you!! Love all the customized labels and added details!

Question for ya: Where did you get the personalized Flash Drive? My fiance and I are teachers and we have family and friends that are teachers- those would be awesome favors! And as you said- totally useful!

Thanks for the compliments - though I have to admit most of my ideas came from other brides who posted pictures of their OOT bags here.

    Flash Drives were from: http://www.discountmugs.com/nc/categ...-flash-drives/

Those came out to about $7 each, (not included in the Swag Bag cost estimate). We gave them out as favors during the wedding. After we loaded them with music, we wrapped them back up in the box they came in (see picture), and glued a navy blue ribbon around them. (our colors were Navy and White.)

Congratulations to you!! All the Best!! Enjoy every minute!!

  4. Also, If anyone knows of a place where I can get a logo on a matchbook (not one of their dumb designs) for a reasonable price and I don't have to buy 2,000 of them, please let me know.

you can get matchbooks at this site which also has some other cute personalized favors. The personalized matchbooks are $17 for 50.

    http://www.favorfavor.com/page/FF/PROD/Match

Another site which has super cute favors, and a sale on their Anchor and Captains Wheel Keychains right now is:

    http://www.lightinthebox.com/-Destination-Wedding--Love-Voyage-Keyring--Set-of-Two--in-Velvet-Gift-Bag_p158941.html

If that deal had been going on when i was planning the swag bags, i probably would have gotten them!

  5. I see some custom pens in there. Where did you go for them? Vistaprint wants more than I want to spend on them.

We did get them from Vistaprint. We ended up ordering a lot of them (100)- with plans to use the extras at home afterwards, and with a 50% off coupon they came to about $1.40 each, which didn't seem like a bad deal. You can get pens on many other sites for less, they just tend to require you to order several hundred, which is way more than we needed.

  6. I love these! So the room doors are magnetic? Was the quality of the magnets good or did they slip down?

Yes, all the doors on the ships are metal, so the magnets stick to them really well - no slippage at all. The quality was excellent, and they were a big hit!

We even printed up a "free sample" in our same pattern that said "Just Married - - - Do Not Disturb!!" that we posted on our door the day of the wedding.

  7. I love the ideas! Thanks so much for sharing with us. Where did you have the flash drives personalized? I also was wondering if you still had any of the cards left? I would pay for shipping!

    Thanks again!

Thanks for the compliments - though I have to admit most of my ideas came from other brides who posted pictures of their OOT bags here. :)

I have a few of the lanyard cards left. How many do you need? and please post your email so i can contact you.

  8. also, where did you get the bottles? They're really nice. I was going to just buy those off the shelf but I might personalize...

I got them on this site: http://www.discountmugs.com/nc/category/sports-bottles/

They came out really nice, and they always have some promotion going on. It looks like 10% off today. Typically the more you buy, the better the price on each individual piece.

    Best Wishes!!

  9. Wow! That's a ton of cool stuff. If you don't mind my asking, what was your budget for each bag? We just started planning the OOT bags last night and I'm thinking that I'll end up spending much more than I expected...

planned budget was $40 per bag, but we went a little crazy copying everyone else's great ideas, and they came out to a little over $50. I did spend a lot of time online shopping for the best prices on bulk items, since we were making so many.

  10. One of the best gift bags yet!!

How many cruisers did you have?

Was this a per person bag or per cabin?

We had 68 cruisers total. I did one bag per per "party." we only had a few single friends rooming together so they each got their own, but most were couples and a few were families with kids. Ended up being a total of 40 bags, plus 4 mini gift bags for the little kids, with age-appropriate toys (bubbles, stickers, beach balls, etc)

  11. How awesome!!!! I love it, you did an amazing job! I have a few questions! :)

First, did you personalize those lanyards? and if so, where?

What were the full contents of the "hangover recovery kit"? and..

What were the full contents of the "morning after recovery kit"?

Also, where did you get the tote bag and the magnets?

I know a million questions! lol

Thank you for the compliments! We had a lot of fun putting them together.

We did personalize the Lanyards - http://www.customlanyard.net/

I just checked their website and they are having a 60% off sale that ends today!

The cards we put inside them we ordered from Vistaprint.com - used their discounted business cards and they fit perfectly! I probably have about 100 extra i can send to someone. i think their minimum order was 250 but Vistaprint always has so many discounts and free "samples" going, you may wish to just personalize them with your own theme.

    Contents of Hangover Recovery Kit:

    2 starbucks - instant coffee's

    2 packets of tylenol

    2 packets of pepto bismol

    2 packets of imodium

    1 roll of Tums

Contents of Morning After Recovery Kit:

    1 roll Lifesavers - mint

1 roll Lifesavers - fruit flavored.

We ordered all the tote bags, magnets and all the stickers used in the kit through Vistaprint. We found a 50% off coupon online and it came in very very handy.

    Hope that helps!!

  12. Sorry the pictures didn't come through as big as i'd hoped.

The big plastic toiletry bag has a sticker that says "Jim and Layne's Cruise Wedding Survival Kit .... Party it up ..we've got your back"

The other kits fit inside that bag and included:

Gringo in the Sun Recovery Kit

Motion of the Ocean Recovery Kit

    Hangover Recovery Kit

    Morning After Recovery Kit

In Sickness and In Health - inside of which was the O'Sh*t Kit ... for when you hurt yourself or someone else (mini first aid kit).

We included our welcome letter (with the captains wheel at the top)

and a "calendar of events" with dates and times of privatized events, and on the back was a "cruise roster" of guests and their cabin numbers.

The Flash-Drive was actually our wedding favor - given out at the reception which we pre-loaded with our favorite songs - kind of like the CD idea, but it can fit a lot more music than 1 CD, and can subsequently be used for other things.

  13. Please see the previous post titled ***5 Star*** Wedding on the Sapphire Princess - for the review and some preliminary wedding pictures.

I want to thank past brides who shared their ideas and photos with us, as most of these ideas came from them! I called them "Wedding Swag Bags," as we are from the LA/Hollywood area, it seemed to me that everyone on a cruise is technically an "out of towner."

The most used piece from the whole swag bag were the lanyards. I initially thought they looked pretty cheesy and couldn't imagine anyone putting them on, but EVERYONE thought they were fantastic and incredibly useful. Everyone also loved the door magnets so it was easy to identify rooms of our wedding guests if we needed to get messages to everyone.

Happy to answer any questions. Best wishes to everyone!

  14. Yay! It's great to hear from another Princess Bride! Was the Wheelhouse Bar very open? Did you have non-wedding guests around you or peeking in? If you end up putting all of your photos in an online album please let me know, I'd love to see more pictures.

My coordinator told me that I couldn't have my wedding and reception in different locations, did you have your locations decided before you got on the ship?

Locations - ahhhh, one of the MANY issues. Having never sailed on the Sapphire before, we didn't really know what to expect. Since we were such a big group, and had so much stuff to set-up they gave us 2 different rooms for the wedding - one for the ceremony and one for the reception, but i don't know if this is standard practice or if they were making an exception for us.

There were many discussions about the locations for the different events with TWE. It wasn't until 6 weeks before the cruise that the venues were confirmed, and it wasn't until 5 weeks before we sailed that they confirmed we could keep the wheelhouse for the 3rd hour of our reception private for our group only.

The folks at TWE have never been on the boat before and weren't able to answer the majority of our detailed questions (ie - how wide an aisle runner to get? where would people be seated during the ceremony? what exactly is included in the food stations? can we see pictures of the food stations? what format to bring our wedding music with us to give to the DJ - CD's, flash-drives, DVDs?)

In the planning phase, we decided to go on several "Bon Voyage" tours of the Sapphire (through Princess - at $39 per person) before the wedding, so we had an opportunity to see the different venues and get an idea of what to expect and what to bring. We even paid the extra $250 fee to have someone from TWE meet us and give us a personalized tour on one of the trips, but she wasn't much help and we felt it was a total waste of money. They wouldn't allow us to set up a meeting with the on-board Cruise wedding coordinator during our tour either, which was particularly frustrating, as I believe having had the opportunity to talk with one of them about how they've done things in the past - what worked and what didn't - would have eased a lot of the stress of uncertainty. We brought our florist/wedding planner with us on one of the tours, and a camera and tape measure and walked about answering most of our questions ourselves.

When they finally told us the confirmed locations, I was a little skeptical about Skywalkers for the ceremony - i really didn't want a "Disco" feel, but we brought some nice decorations and were able to change the "mood" in the room dramatically (thought I have to give that credit to our florists). The big windows let in beautiful sunlight which actually enhanced the mood and the pictures so far are amazing. I wanted an indoor ceremony due to the uncertainty of the weather conditions and my concern over too much wind from the moving vessel that might reek havoc with my veil, and this way I feel we got the best of both worlds. We held the "Bedeken (Veiling) and Ketubbah signing ceremonies on the dance floor, and set up the Chuppah and held the rest of the ceremony on the other side of the room. We did take some family and wedding party pictures outside on the deck as well since the weather was so nice and the views spectacular at sea.

The Wheelhouse Bar was great for our reception. They allowed us to close all the heavy drapes to make it feel more like a 1930's night-time supper-club, even through it was bright and sunny outside, which was exactly the look we were going for. We brought in little electric "tea lights" that we placed on all the tables to soften the mood. They had all the doors except the one near the forward elevators closed and blocked with a sign that read "private event." So everyone entered from that one door. We weren't bothered by any non-wedding cruisers as far as i could see.

    Hope that helps!
