  1. People ask me all the time how can I go by myself ? I usually say I'm not by myself I'm with 2000 other people. The only thing that is a bummer abount going solo is that it cost more money. So do not be concerned about going solo just have fun.

I couldn't agree more. I am on the shy side so hopefully I will get the nerve to talk to some of those 2000 people.

And the money issue is definitely a bummer. But this is nothing new for singles.

  2. Yes I can confirm that singles get lucky on a Celebrity Cruise. I usually go RCCL or Carnival but I met a great girl on Celebrity-too bad she was "geographically undesireable"

Like sologal said above, I'm not looking to fall in love, just for someone I can pal around with. Though, if I did fall in love I certainly wouldn't complain. ;)

  3. There are some of us out there.

    I'm 33. I'm single. And I've cruised a bunch on Celebrity.

And BTW- IMHO- you are correct about Celebrity. You'll definetly have a better chance finding someone closer to your age on RCCL, but (even so) I also like Celebrity better...

Well, that at least gives me a little hope. I'm sure I'd like an RCCL cruise but being my first solo cruise I want to make sure I feel like I have plenty to do. No other ships have really appealed to me as much.

  4. Also, most older travelers are active and fun to converse with.

Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against older travelers and very much enjoy their company. It's just that I work with a lot of older people in my job (which I love), without a single person close in age to me. So I was just hoping for some companions my own age while away from work. I'm sure I will still meet people.

I am afraid to book a ship other than Celebrity because I am not too much of a partier. I'm pretty nerdy and rarely use alcohol as a tool for entertainment (though, I do enjoy a good buzz). I chose Celebrity for their enrichment classes which totally thrill me. Gives me a chance to brush up on my Italian, learn some new cooking skills, and possibly attend some interested lectures (see...nerdy). The other ships didn't really offer anything like that.

Princess has Scholarship@Sea, but their food is awful. At least, it was on the one ship I went on. And I like food!

    Oy!

A vacation is what you make of it though, so I am sure to have fun regardless.

P.S. Words like fooey are part of what makes life so enjoyable.
