Meredith,
I understand your disappointment. We have 2 cruises scheduled which will give us the number required to be elite. I realize it’ll probably mean nothing in the long run. Oh well. But it’s still fun to cruise.
Tell your Queen trivia expert husband I said “hi.”

We arrived at the ship just after noon yesterday. It took us 3 hours to go through the line and get to our cabin. Getting to the pier early will have its advantages. There was someone in the group before ours who was taken aside. There were several positives but I don’t know what % that translates to. I haven’t asked what our sailing % is.

Sooo great meeting you guys too! Hopefully our paths will cross again one day. I looked for you at debarkation to see if you would send me your bear video. Could you possibly email it to me or something?
I will if I can figure out how to message you privately.

Just a couple of other comments…
The crew was fantastic all week. The cruise director and staff were hysterical. It felt so good to laugh!!!
Upon arriving, I was one of those flagged for the blue lane. Just a minor glitch. I didn’t have a credit card attached to my account. *gasp*. I also had a minor glitch with my medallion. It took <5 min to correct it. Overall, we liked the medallion.
I thought the quality of the food in the buffet better than in the past. Except for the soupy scrambled eggs. The variety was understandably lacking but I get that. Alfredos and the noodle bar are good. We enjoy the crown grill on every cruise.
We always recommend Alaska to anyone interested in taking a cruise.
@wondertwinsmomit was great to meet you!
@CruzinNoony I enjoyed seeing you two again. Safe travels.

Yay! So excited that you’re back!

Our first Princess cruise was for our 25th wedding anniversary. As a surprise for me, my husband arranged for our best friends to join us. I remember them knocking on our stateroom door and when I answered I just stood there with my mouth hanging open. We had such a good time.
I also agree that a favorite memory is the moment I get on that ship.

Can you tell me the stop to got off of the train for Hotel Bethel?
We may have just emailed the hotel and asked.
-
We stayed at Hotel Bethel. It was listed as a best value on Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed. The corner room was worth it. So was breakfast. The hotel is on the canal at Nyhavn and is within walking distance of several sights. There is a bus stop on the corner. We took the train from the airport, then a short walk. Getting to the ship was a short & easy taxi ride.

We stayed at the Hotel Nerva. It was within walking distance of all the major sights (except the Vatican). Hotel staff was excellent and breakfast was wonderful.

Yippee!!! Another trip with Florence. :) Thanks, Marla! It's always fun to read about your adventures.

Yay! I've followed your travels the last two winters. I'm looking forward to what you have to say about a couple of the ports we'll be visiting in April. Bon voyage! Have a fabulous time!

We stayed at Hotel Bethel. It's one of trip advisor's best value hotels. It's on the canal at Nyhavn - within walking distance to nearly everything. If it's too far to walk, the bus stop is on the corner. The hotel also has a wonderful breakfast.

Just got off the Ruby and omg, most comfy bed ever. And beautiful new duvets and pillows.
I totally agree. I want that mattress in my bedroom.

Anyone have a rough idea of what the white jackets (like a track top / jersey/ heavy cotton) with Princess logo cost onboard?
Thanks in advance x
I bought one onboard the Royal last year. This hooded one is reversible - one side water resistant, other side fleece. It doesn't have a Princess logo on it except for the zipper tab. I think I paid $35. Well worth the $$.

It looks like it is 6.3 miles, roughly 11 minutes by car. Since it isn't in walking distance, you're probably best off taking a taxi or Uber there. Another option is renting a car if you plan to see more than just central Santa Barbara. My condolences for your loss.
Would you happen to be a member of Elks Lodge 613?

SBAnt,
First off, my apologies for not doing some homework first.
It sounds like Santa Barbara is a tender port. How far is it to Goleta Cemetery? I know that's an odd question. I've just recently lost 2 close relatives and would like to visit their graves.
Thank you,
Vicki (riansgrammy)

We disembarked from the Royal Princess very early on a Saturday morning and took the ship's transfer to the airport. There was NO traffic. Got to the airport quickly. Took no time at all to find our luggage, get checked in and go through security.
-
We just spent 11 days on the Royal and loved it. We didn't have any of the issues that seem to bother others. In short, I agree with Pam's comments. I would sail her again.

Boarding a plane for a long flight to Copenhagen tomorrow. We board the Royal Princess on Friday.....I do think we are kind of excited. :D:D:D:D:D
I understand your excitement!! We have 10 more "sleeps" before we leave for Copenhagen (but I'm not counting). We board the 19th.

The hair appliances I use at home specifically state they are NOT to be used with converters or adapters. I purchased dual voltage ones to travel with. Calling the manufacturer is an excellent idea.

Last year on the Sapphire we were in the explorer’s lounge. There were chips, queso, chicken, cookies and several other things. It was too cold to watch on MUTS. LOTS OF FUN!!! GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!
