  2. I did do a search but could not find what I was looking for. We just completed our first Carnival cruise, but have cruised other cruise lines, and I am wondering where I find casino offers, I did check my offers on the Carnival website but I am not seeing anything. Our cruise was March 25-April 5/2024. I am looking to see offers with free play. Thanks for your help.

    From my understanding, we are rated at tables on our average bet. Each game has its own theoretical loss % and number of hands or games per hour and that number is extrapolated over our time played and we are turned into a number based on that.ย

    If you sit down with $1000, play $200 a hand over 20 minutes and lose it all and don't return, you have very little value to a casino.ย

    A $25 a hand player that spends 24 hours playing over a week and ultimately loses $1000 is a more valuable player than the $200 bettor.

    Do you care to elaborate? A loss is a loss, am I missing something? $1000 is $1000ย

    No, not from the Bronx, when our daughter was young she saw the word Bronx on tv, then the name was used on one of her shows she watched, so she decided to name her puppy Bronx and then I took the name for Cruise Critic lol

  7. Jamman54, I would also like to thank you and Patti for this review. We have never cruised with Carnival before, but we chose Venezia as our first Carnival cruise. This review makes us feel much better about our decision. Thank you again, and you guys really do work well together and I really enjoy the pictures and your writing style. I am going to look for more of your reviews ๐Ÿ™‚

    So, the "why can't they do it" doesn't matter when they don't do it. If they don't do it, then I go do it.

    Without being judgmental, I think that might be part of the problem, if they don't do it I will, that is what the cruise line is hoping, they put the gratuities up, cut the service in half, and now the half service barely gets done. I realize that gratuities have been talked about a lot, as well as housekeeping, but personally, I don't get paid enough to do my own job on a daily basis plus do someone else's job. I go on vacation to get a break from my hospital job, which I am sure you realize is busy.ย 

    Cruise lines are trying to recover from Covid, so is the entire world, but as an employee, and not a business owner, I have no one to pass my expenses on to.

  10. We are on the September 13/2023 NCL Joy going out of Quebec City. We did request the 2 day deviation when we booked the BOGO flight through NCL and they are flying us from Halifax, NS to Montreal to Quebec City, and then coming home we are flying from LaGuardia to Montreal to Halifax. They are good flights considering how inexpensive they were ๐Ÿ™‚

    This was our first time booking the BOGO deal and we would do it again with no hesitation. NCL did send out an email at the 75 day mark indicating we would get our flight details around the 30 day mark, I called around then and they emailed them to me, the first flights were not great, but they said changes were coming for different flights and the confirmation number was not going to work. A couple of days later the better flights appeared in my NCL account and the email, and I was able to log into Air Canada and book seats ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. We just got our flight information, flying from Halifax to Montreal to Quebec City and then LaGuardia to Montreal to Halifax. Our flight leaves Quebec City and returns from New York. We did a 2 day deviation pre-cruise. Our flights are great, no late night arriving home, and saved a ton of money. This was our first time booking the BOGO deal with NCL but would definitely do it again ๐Ÿ™‚

Could you post the internet prices, as well as the specialty dining prices, but only if it's not too much trouble, don't let it interfere with your vacation ๐Ÿ™‚ย Thank you in advance, and no worries either way.

    First, it is not the Jones Act, as that applies to cargo ships. Second, and maybe even more importantly, it is a US law which would not apply to a cruise passenger boarding and disembarking in Canada. But, Canada might have a similar law that would not allow this, but that still would not excuse how much disinformation the cruise agent told you.

  14. We are doing an NCL cruise that starts in Quebec City and ends in New York, with Halifax, NS (our home town), being a stop 2 nights before New York. I called to ask if we could disembark in Halifax and the answer was no in our particular case. The agent indicated that it violated The Jones Act because were boarding in Canada and disembarking in Canada. If we opted to disembark in Halifax we would be fined, and the cruise line would be fined, but we would also be responsible to cover their fine as well.

    We have disembarked in Halifax in the past, but we needed to have written permission to downline, and if I remember correctly, it took approximately 2 months for everything to be confirmed. It was NCL and it was before covid.
