  1. Thank you for responding!

It must be another cruise line. I remember them requiring a certain number of registrants before they schedule the meeting. My Roll Call is not very active so I was trying to see how many were registered to make sure we were having a meeting. BAH! My mind is gonzo!

    Thanks again!

  2. Hello!

I am looking for a little help. Maybe I am remembering incorrectly or am thinking of a different cruiseline (sorry but NCL remains my fave however I have cruised a lot of different ones). BUT if I am recalling right, there was a link to register as a cruisecritic with NCL and they put a note in your room on when the meeting is. I think I had to do this the last time I cruised with them (you give your name and booking# and then they tell you how many other people have registered as well.)

Am I thinking wrong? Or did they do away with this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Dee

  3. We stayed here in the fall 2015 and found that it was nice. Would def stay here again! It has a roof top pool which is pretty and there is a restaurant up there as well. We didn't want to do too fancy of lunch or breakfast eats so we walked to the Denny's a few blocks away and there is a McDonalds down the road a bit in the opposite direction. The front staff were wonderful and gave us a map and directions and also called a cab for us when we wanted to venture further.

I know they also have a shuttle so this was a huge perk for us as we didn't want to bother with a cab from the Airport to the hotel.

    Have a great vacation!

  4. We have booked this motel for our one night pre-cruise stay...I have not seen many reports about this motel....just wondering if we did not make a good choice...

Please share with us your opinion and suggest some place to stay if this is "low on the list"

Thank you for any help, Tom & Pat

    Our 50th wedding anniversary!!

Hi! I stayed at this property in November. It is a decent property but there were a couple things that I would have liked to have known. The shuttle takes a very LOOONNGGG time to show up. It was about 45 mins for us to get picked up. It was about 8pm when our plane landed and we weren't anticipating the wait. The second thing is that there is no restaurant on site. They do provide another shuttle that will bring you to a sister property for their restaurant. (The food was ok but I would have preferred staying at the hotel.) BTW you also have the option of ordering delivery.

It's not bad for the price, however we are returning to Fort Lauderdale in the spring and choosing another hotel. Mostly because we want to have more amenities available to us.

Congratulations on 50 Years! We cruised in November to celebrate my in-laws 50th! What an accomplishment! ENJOY!!!!

  5. We just took Academy for our 9/1/13 sailing on the Breakaway, (thinking - maybe like you-, eh, can't go wrong... good price... we'll see how it goes...)

It was a nightmare!!!! We almost missed the ship!!!!! Do not take this bus line!!!!!

We were in the city at noontime and the driver got lost. At about 1pm he started asking if anyone on the bus knew the address of the port!!!!!!!!!!!!! I called and I mean CALLED everyone (dispatch, NCL) to try to get help. The dispatcher was giving directions the driver was not taking them! Embarkation ended at 3pm but I had to get someone to call the port to extend it as long as they possibly could and we finally pulled into port at 3:15pm!!!!! We were the last ones on the ship and boarded with our luggage in tow during the muster drill!!!!!

Too much stress... Please save yourself the anxiety... it ruined the first 2 days of our cruise because we were so angry!

  6. I was faced with the same issue coming from Massachusetts. We decided that we would book the Academy bus through the cruiseline. A word of advice...

    DON'T

After leaving in plenty of time, the bus driver got lost (just after noon) in NYC and we were still trying to get to the ship at 3pm. The driver wouldn't pull over so we could get cabs and I had to call several people several times to get them to hold the ship for us. (We were literally the last ones on and walked on luggage and all during the muster drill).

Sorry I don't have an alternative but I didn't want you to face the same situation we did.

  7. Another option is a place called Tranquilo. Just reopen a few months ago and it's #4 on tripadvisor. VERY VERY CLEAN. They don't do day room but u can ask for morning checkin. The highest price is 125. The reviews and pictures r nice. I stayed 2 weeks ago and it's better than the 4 star hotel cause everything brand new and ur 2 blocks from beach. I really didn't want to say it cause it was my little secret....lol

I will definately look into them. And I will not tell a soul.... lol

  8. Hi. Rhodeway Inn & Suites offer day room from 10-6. It's $49 and they will shuttle u for free to the airport. U also get free wifi, use of all their facilities, and a free breakfast. Just ask for one of the newly renovated room. Stayed end of March and it was clean and worth it for the price.

I agree with ctrnh225. Rodeway is not the nicest hotel but it might be the only one that will confirm a day room and it sounds like your family just needs a place to rest for the day.

Thank you so much! I looked at the Rhodeway but other posts state to look elsewhere. If it were just my husband and I the scenario would be much different. There are too many variables with the inlaws along (diabetes, inclimate weather, cranky-ness)... I am thinking that this may be our best option.

And thanks for the review. I will def ask for a renovated room! :D:D

  9. Hi All!

I am in desperate need of some suggestions on what to do with my inlaws post cruise (while waiting for a flight).

We are coming off a cruise in Miami but flying out of Fort Lauderdale at 7pm. I am sure their patience will be wearing thin and they will be exhausted from the disembarkation process.

I looked at Sunny.org and a Dayroom would be great but every hotel I contact state they don't offer them. I do let them know they are listed on the Sunny.org website but to no avail.

Any suggestions? I am desperate for options.... help:eek:

    Thanks,

    Dee

  10. We will be travelling on the Breakaway in Sept and I had the same question as I never used this service. My boss however, cruises Celebrity and uses Academy bus any time she goes (out of Union Station in Worcester). She says there is never and issue, they are pros and it makes for a more relaxing vacation to leave the driving to someone else!

As a natural born worry wart I feel a little better knowing someone else has had the same experience with them.

Now I can't wait to get my relaxation on!!!!!

  11. I went on a great cruise with NCL. They now stock items on board. You don't have to pre - order and I on the EPIC I ate most of my meals at the BUFFET believe it or not. The Maite' D there looked for me and my husband (because he loved to see what the buffet had to offer and I just tagged along initially).

We got GF cookies and muffins. Pizza was made for me and bagels were toasted for me in the morning! Pasta dishes and all the potato products were GF. Royal Caribbean doesn't do that! (they carry hamburger buns and ice cream cones too... but I did not get around to it... too many options!)

Good luck Gluten Free-er's -- I look forward to seeing more posts :D
