  1. We love them! We've been on two. The first one they took over an entire village outside of Florence. They bussed us over, and split the captains club members up by their status. That assigned you  to a restaurant in town for dinner. They had wine tastings set up all through the village before dinner. When we got back onboard, they had a fireworks show over the ship on our departure a midnight. It was a fantastic evening!

  2. We just returned from 10 nights in an aft Sky Suite on the Reflection. Greek islands and Malta. Our 8th cruise with Celebrity.

It was our best cruise ever. Service was excellent all around. Butler service was as frequent as we asked for. They did everything we asked for, and then some. Room service was on time ( early by 5 minutes), food was hot and as ordered. Food was excellent in Luminae. Service was also good.  Tuscan was so good, we went twice! We commented to each other several times how good the service had been throughout the ship. The ship itself was in very good condition. I read all the negative reviews, and went with an open mind, and we had a fantastic trip. YMMV.

  3. I can't speak for the E class, but we organized a bar crawl on the Equinox a few years ago. It was a blast! 14 bars in 14 hours! We did take some time off for meals and a quick nap. We used the daily planner as our guide, and started at the Sunset bar. We started at 10 am and finished at 2 am... I think...

Luckily, the next day was a sea day! Good luck!

  4. We just got off the 6/15 sailing of the Equinox. Aquaclass cabin on the hump. The ship looks terrific. Not a lot of significant changes in the cabins. We did have a new mattress that was very comfortable. Also new carpet in the cabin, and the new furniture on the balcony. Other than that, not much was changed in the cabins. Overall, the ship was very clean and in excellent condition. No new menus in Blu, and we never made it to the Persian gardens, so can't really comment on the spa.

  5. Thanks for your review! How do you get a Lyft with a chill puppy like that?? That's how I want to travel from now on! We are in the same cabin in June, and wanted to ask if you've been bothered or noticed any significant noise from above? We love the location and AQ in general. Some of the reports we've read on that area were conflicting about noise. Any help would be appreciated!

  6. How about organizing a pub crawl? That way you can sample them all! We did this a couple of years ago with some friends we met on the ship. It was awesome! We met at the sunset bar for a breakfast cocktail, and as the day went by, we checked them off the list. We weren't in a hurry, and we're way past slamming drinks just to get hammered and race to the next bar. We started at 10 am at the sunset, and finished at 2 am at Quazar(sp?). All 14 bars on the Equinox. We all had time for lunch, dinner and a mid-afternoon nap to get right with the world. It was a marathon. Well, the only marathon I'm ever going to complete, that is. We gained a few folks here and there, and lost a few, but had a blast. We took pictures at every bar to prove we were there, we ran in to Chicago Paul and Edward ( surprisingly enough at the Martini bar!) and made friends at every stop. Fun was had by all. I'm not sure that was how Celebrity intended us to use our Premium package for, but it made for a good time by all, and the best sea day we've had! Oh, and here's a hint: the crew does not find it funny at all if you hint that they should sneak 8 of your tipsy friends down to the crew bar so that you can check that one off the list! No sense of humor at all, apparently!

  7. I’m looking at booking a cruise on equinox in aqua class there is 1547 and 1545 available I realize that 1547 has a larger deck and cost a little more but it says there are obstructions? Any input on what is a better a aqua cabin is appreciated

We were in 1545 last summer, and it was fine. The "obstruction" was the window washing equipment next door. No big deal. The extra large balcony more than made up for it. It was a really quiet cabin, and we had a great cruise!

  8. We were there in August. Taxis and buses are very expensive. $15 pp for a coach ride to one of the beaches.

Not a lot to do in the port. It looked like it was still under construction. This was the week before the hurricane, so I'm not really sure what was damaged, and what is left. I would advise against going to the resort you see at the port as you tender in. I don't remember the name, it was not memorable! We thought that was the easiest to get to. Not. They had a 20 minute line to get bus tickets, a 20 minute bus ride and another 10 min walk to get to the "resort". Then we had the choice of a $25 pp buffet which was not good. Not much of a beach area, around a small swimming area. It might be a good day to get a massage on the ship!

  9. Make sure to take advantage of the Gastrobar happy hour. They have one or two per cruise. On our last Equinox cruise, I was looking at some of the really expensive craft beer liters. One was $ 35!! I commented on how crazy that seemed, and the bartender told me about happy hour, everything was half off, and with the premium package, a $ 35 beer was $4.50! She then suggested that I buy several, and they would hold them for me for the week! So, for the week I would run down to Gastrobar, and have them grab a beer out of my stash, and take it back to the room or wherever! It was awesome! She got a really nice tip on our last night!

  10. Looking at Deck 11, cabin 1570..aqua class....why?...seems to be only cabin midship available but appears to be under the pool..is this an issue?

I have requested midship for this my first cruise...nothing available in concierge.

My wife and I stayed in 1570 last year on the Presidents Cruise. It was very quiet. No noise from above or below. We did have a smoker on the balcony next door that they took care of. It's in a really good location. We love AQ for Blu and the Persian Gardens. Book it! You'll love it!

  11. Key West has the Mel Fisher Museum ( http://www.melfisher.org/‎ ) on Greene Street. Mel found the Spanish shipwrecks , the Atocha and Santa Margarita .

Lots of really cool gold and silver jewelry, bullion and jewels . Last time I was there they had a huge pile of silver bars just sitting out in the open. The museum tells a great story about Mel and his determination to find these two ships. Should be good fun for all ages .
