  1. Hi, we just returned from our bahamas cruise this week. We did the $30 day pass at Melia and I HIGHLY recommend it! It was great!

Once we arrived in Nassau, we went to the visitors desk inside the building you go through there at the port and asked the lady there about it (just to be sure it was legit).

She instructed us to take the #10 bus and tell them to take us to Melia, so that's what we did. Only $1.25 pp fare. When they drop you off in front of the hotel, just go in to the front desk and tell them you want a day pass and they'll give you a pink arm band.

We didn't feel the need to do the all inclusive one because we ate a big breakfast before getting off the boat, and we knew we'd probably leave by 2pm so we could do a little shopping before getting back on the boat. There's a pool bar and also a starbucks inside the hotel, so we just got a couple of waters while we were there and took a few snacks and didn't need to eat at their restaurant.

It's a beautiful beach, chairs available, great pools, beach volleyball available, basketball court - my 17 yr old found a group of guys to play with. Also includes snorkeling, paddle boarding, use of kayaks, etc.

I would definitely go back and do it again. Great use of our money!

    Thanks

We may try this on our next visit in Nassau

  2. Hubby & I have been 3 times & just walked right in through the then Sheraton (now Melia) by just acting like we were staying there. We enjoyed the beach & loungers, umbrellas & cash bar. We had to exit through the Wyndham, because the Sheraton/Melia was locked. BUT my parents did this in October & got busted when going to the pool restroom. So you can either take your chances or go ahead & pay for the day pass at either Melia or Wyndham. Don't take a cab there. Take the #10 local bus for $1.25 pp each way

    thanks for the info

  3. thanks

Been to nassua a couple times and this will be where I go next visit.

    At least to the beach

cant beat the price on transportation

How often the the bus run ?

    Now looking at resorts

    Thanks for the info

  4. Im looking for a Catamaran or Sailboat excursion from Havensight area(or downtown) to St john Trunk bay for 20-30 people.

I have done a sailboat from Redhook to St John Honeymoon beach two years ago and we anchored offshore and just swam to the beach and snorkeled in the area and around the boat.

This Time we want to do the same but to Trunk bay.

Has anyone done this or know of any operators that provide excursion like this.

    we are going in Sept.2016

    Thanks

or it not any from cruise port area any from Redhook ?

  5. Lucky it was Anthem going through this storm

Anthem is the 3rd largest cruise ship in the world at 167,000 tons and can handle storms of this size and no problem cruising out of the northeast (there are more storms in the Caribbean).

If it was the Average size ship of 80,000 to 110,000 tons ships have been rocking much more.

I been through a couple big storms and a Big Snowstorm one of them on a smaller ship and one on a Larger ship and the big was rocking but the smaller was like riding a rollercoaster in bed all night long while sleeping with similar damage shown in the posted photos.

These Big ships can handle it :)

  6. Is there a Sailboat or Catamaran excursion Near the cruise port that goes to Trunk Bay or Anchors off trunk bay?

we did a sailboat from redhook to honeymoon beach a few years ago and they anchored off the beach and we just swam to the beach

but would like to see if anything near the port or if at redhook if one goes to Trunk Bay

    thanks

  7. Im still looking for a Cat or Sailboat from St Thomas to Trunk Bay

even if the boat is docked off shore

Prefer to get the Boat closer to the dock to eliminate the 40 minute drive to Redhook

a few years ago we took a Private Sailboat excursion from RedHook to Honeymoon Beach and docked off shore

but now looking to go to Trunk Bay

  8. will be in la Romona on the Breeze and looking for a Beach

We did the Saona island tour last time but want to try something different another beach .

Really dont want to spend $200 for 2 people for a couple hours and dont want to stay on ship

  9. We have been in the Hot tubes after we see them open up after they have been cleaned -

On the OASIS of the Seas we went in after midnight after it was cleaned and when no one was in them (those giant cantilever) hot tubes

And i had a few beers and I DID GET OUT AND USE THE BATHROOM :)

Bathroom was across from the Hot tube

But takes me about an hour or more to urinate after drinking BUT after the first pee I need to go alot - :p

I do most of my swimming in the beautiful waters of the Caribbean

  10. Everyone is forgetting that Oasis 3 is coming out in the Spring of 2016, so this might be making room for them to place this ship in the Caribbean. Only my opinion.

one of the 3 OASIS Class ships will be at new port in Hong Kong or Malaysia

yes the Asian market is giant many come to Florida to cruise these big ships when I cruised Oasis in 2010 half the ship was International travelers

  11. Im on the Conquest Dec 1st -- is it to late for the meet and greet ?

We also were on the Liberty with the 3 meet and greets and the service was SLOOOWWW this time.

the 2nd meet they had pre-made drinks so I just drank those.

Guess Ill go back to smuggling alcohol onboard and we can have our own meet and greets

When I do buy I only buy the Big FOSTERS beer its $6.95

  12. per person

if you have more people in "your group" it cost less

So make some friends on-board or while waiting for the cab/van :)

when you get off the ship the cabs/vans are everywhere and all trying to compete for your business.

they will come back to pick you up if you ask or you may find other cabs waiting for passengers.

  13. it was $10 per person to Sapphire

    and about the same back

    its a set price

there is some "resort shopping stores" right off the ship and bars

or taxi to the downtown shopping is I think about $4

Emerald Beach / Lindbergh Bay is $4 and is also a Great beach for

swimming but not for snorkeling http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=29585118&postcount=14

I found a few Prices below the more people the cheaper it is they are flexible and may on the way back give you a tour for the same price.Just get out early.

I posted with my main PC which is 1080p

    thanks for the heads up

here is the message in again without the pics :)

"when we got dropped off went through to the beach

and WENT TO THE LEFT we seen a local lady under

the palm trees with 3 large coolers full of

drinks and beer i bought a bucket actually 2 after the

    first one was finished :p.

VIDEO HERE see drink stand at end of video

I didn't buy from the restaurant or the servers on the beach

as i know the beer would have been triple price. we and

another couple we meet wound up being the last to

leave the beach and got a cab that gave us a "tour"

or he took the long way back to the ship at no

additional charge he made a few stops, we tipped

him when we got dropped off. here are a few pics of

Sapphire not sure if I posted them yet.

the beach had seaweed from a big tropical storm the

week before (we just missed it)

  15. I love rum punch and my hubby and my dad are looking forward to some ice cold beer on the beach =)

  16. S. Jersey Adventure - Wow! So the beers were pretty cheap! Not bad. You were saying that your calls and data through AT&T were normal rates since it was a US Territory? Really?! That's awesome!
