  1. We were also on the Reflection leaving Rome 3rd June. We did 2 X tours, city sights in Naples. This was an afternoon tour going on a coach around the sights. It was really good. Our guide Vito was most entertaining. Stopped half way at a beach side cafe where we were given a voucher for a soft drink or gelato and a restroom stop. Would recommend.

We also did the Florence by Electric Cart. Most expensive tour we've taken in a while and what a waste of money. Basically you are paying for your 1 hour 30 mins fare in to Florence and 50 mins on a golf buggy with very minimal info given about what you are seeing delivered via a wi fi speaker. It was 98.6 degrees that day so by the time our coach gathered to return (after a 10/15 min walk back to the coach) all any of us wanted to do was return to the ship, but no, we had to go to a leather factory on the way back. The factory was closed (it was Sunday) so just a shop then! which no one wanted to go to.

Complained to guest relations (shore excursions desk closed) and received a refund. Just wanted future passengers to have an honest review of this excursion in case any one is considering it.

Not a Ladies view, but that of a Husband with a Wife who is particular

Whatever grade of stateroom, the room is supplied with:

    Dressing Gowns

    Slippers

    Shower gel

    Shampoo (not for coloured hair)

    Conditioner

    Showercap

    Hand-soaps

A jar with Cotton Buds/Cotton wool

Hairdryer (light and powerful with heat settings)

    Tea/coffee/kettle/creamer/biscuits tray

Ice bucket and ice - Daily - you select the time required for repleshment.

Drinks and nibble selection in refrigerator (payable)

Sewing kits are with GS or ask your stateroom attendant

If you require anything else just ask your stateroom attendant

Welcome to Cunard, there may be will "going back".

thanks for that really useful list. As your lovely wife is 'particular' - your words ha ha, does she like/use the toiletries provided?

  3. Hi apologies if this has been answered previously, but hoping someone who has been on QV recently can answer my question.

What is provided in a Britannia category cabin in terms of shampoo conditioner etc?

    Any cotton buds?

Also, would appreciate a ladies view of the hairdryer. I always take my own as my experience on other lines is not a good one. Hairdryers are usually slow and cumbersome to use.

    Hi Cruise community

I am doing the 7 day norwegian fjord cruise on the QM2 from Hamburg in July 2020, and was wondering if anyone could provide some recommendations on shore excursions (if there are any available) in Alesund, Olden, Flaam and Bergen.

I know this is still over a year away but this will really help me in my voyage planning.

    Cheers

Hi the Flaam railway is a good trip but definitely do it yourself. We stepped off the ship around 10 a.m. went to the railway ticket office and got tickets for the trip at around 1p.m.. Much much cheaper than the ship's offering.

Hi we are considering this option prior to our cruise on QV in June. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Hi we have changed our plans and are now looking to stay somewhere that offers parking and transfer to the docks. so with that in mind do your recommendations still stand or is there somewhere better/

It would help those giving advice, if you let us know if you wish to park at the hotel whilst away, or perhaps need to be near the railway station or airport.

I am sure you will be given plenty of good pointers with a little more info.

OOh yes, good point! We will be parking at the terminal but this would give an easy start to our holiday and take the stress out of driving down from Yorkshire on cruise day, worrying about the traffic the whole time!!

Despite Cunard's best efforts to trash their web site, QV's obstructed views are currently still available in the FAQs (page 13 of the 'Life on board' section) whereas QM2 and QE are only mentioned in passing with no links to views. This is the view from 4136 which is the port side equivalent of 4131.qv-4136.thumb.jpg.ae78135d05cc05db4198649424c83cd5.jpg

Oh thanks I can live with that. Can't wait for June 23rd now!

  8. Does anyone actually use these on Cunard ships? On all the other lines we have travelled I have always found them quite awful and therefore take my own, but would be so nice to be able to rely on the quality of the items provided instead.

  9. Hi everyone we have not sailed on this ship before and have booked Cabin 4131 obstructed view outside. We are happy for the 'obstruction' but wondered if anyone had been in this particular cabin and could tell us their thoughts. many thanks

  10. Thanks everyone. I think my main issue is that the very idea of 'class' is so antiquated nowadays I can barely believe anyone uses the term! Simply refer to it as 'Britannia level passengers' for example, everyone understands more money = more perks, but using such an outdated term is suggesting to new users that Cunard is snobby and could put some people off. Luckily all you lovely people have reassured me that I'll feel very comfortable in my 'tourist class' cabin! Can't wait!
