I can't make reservations for any dining.  The website keeps saying "no venues available."  The website in general sucks.

That is for specialty dining venues.  They open closer to your trip.  If you are trying to choose Fixed Main, Fixed Late or Anytime Dining, have your travel agent add it if you have one, or call HAL reservations if you booked online to have it noted

Page 1 of the food. It has a box around it.

Some advice on the bacon - you want it to be candied & crispy. I'm not even sure how to order it. (Hard caramelized?) We had some come out a little like syrup-dipped bacon. It was not great. The coating needs a bit of a crunch.

Whew.  Thank you.  And yes, it should not be drippy!

  3. You would so much more value from a Chase Sapphire card, Reserve or Preferred. Your 25000 points for $250 beverage card could have been a RT ticket to Hawaii. And, Chase protects you.  Fraud is handled immediately.  They provide $10,000 per person of travel insurance per trip, lounge access and if if book travel through their portal each point is worth 1.5.

  4. I have had deck 4 aft rooms on this class of ship numerous times and I have NEVER heard anything from the dining room.  The verandah is much deeper than other decks.  I absolutely love deck 4 and am sorry the aft corners on it were sold out already on my next trip.

It would come in handy on those cold ship days sitting on the balcony or out on deck as it keeps any drink hot for hours.

The cup itself has a long lasting battery that sits on a charging dock that plugs into an outlet.

Ember is the best. I miss mine terribly when I travel

They are the smaller pods - not the Vertuo we have at home - if you have the original espresso capsules, they would work!  🙂

I was told by someone here they would not work.  I hoped to do the same, bring the tradition Nespresso capsules but someone said it was a different, propriety, machine.  Oh I hope you are correct

But can't you order coffee from room service 24hours a day by just calling?

Yes.  I’d cover my head with a pillow to speak quietly at 4 am or so.  Meet him at the door when he VERY lightly tapped and just carry it in myself.

I'm not a fan of Keurig coffee machines so we did not use the one in our suite.  We ordered room service coffee in the mornings.  We also had good "go cups" so could get coffee from Neptune Lounge or Lido that would stay hot for a couple hours.  We thought the Crow's Nest had the best coffee.  JMO, Cherie

Oh how I wish they were Keurig machines.  They are like a Nespresso but not actually a Nespresso so we couldn’t use this pods in machine.  Whatever was provided was absolutely awful.

  9. I sailed on her last fall.  We had a nice cruise.  The food was good.  We did, for the first time on a cruise, the open dining and we liked it.  Chose it for next trip as well.  We were in a Neptune so we had the club orange benefits.  There is a separate line to enter the dining room and you are seated right away.  I'm not sure how long the wait was in the other line but there were usually quite a few people.  I had to ask for the Club Orange menu.  It was never brought to me without asking.

  10. So if a couple has a great cabin booked and a group of 3 book later, can they say, “I want THAT one” and get it? Or would this only happen if ALL triples were full and the group would otherwise be turned away?

it could end up an upgrade situation for the couple.

  11. I thought specialty dining like PG followed the dress code of the night.

my last cruise I saw no one really dressed up as in Tux and gown and I used to.  Most were wearing church dresses.  I only saw one man in the dining room who didn’t even try to step it up from whatever he’d worn all day.

there are some cabin pics on halfacts.com - here is a corner aft on Beethoven deck - https://halfacts.com/pinnacle-class/4184-nieuw-statendam/

The aft suites were smaller than the regular Neptunes.  I wonder if they did this to make more space?

It just a shower.  😐. Nothing fancy, I don’t think.  On the link you provided (thank you!) I saw a tub in one on koningsdam.  They must have made the switch between.

I went to check the deck plans as that sounded strange and OMG - all the aft Neptunes are showing shower only on that ship.  WTH!??  I’m afraid it looks like what you were told is correct and I stand corrected.  I’m going to check the other Pinnacle Class ships to see if they are the same.

that would be a game changer for me 😔

I hope it is a nice shower if it is taking the place of a tub/shower and a separate shower.
