I just got an E-mail from Celebrity informing me of the new requirement for a negative Covid test to be perform no earlier than 72 hours of boarding. Our boarding date 16 August 15, 2021.  My problem is that we fly in to Ft. Lauderdale on August 13th.  Tring to get it on the 12th would be risky in case we didn't get the results back before our flight.  We plan on getting tested this week just in case one or both of us tested positive we wouldn't have waisted the money by flying to Florida just to get denied boarding.  Regardless of all that, does anyone know if there are testing sites there at the terminal?  I'd think that since Royal Caribbean also requires a test that pop up sites would be pretty frequent in the area.  Anyone has any information or thoughts on this?

We don't get in to Ft Lauderdale until after 10:00PM so testing at the airport isn't an option as they close at 9:00PM.

I’m virtually certain that the purpose of the second bullet point is not to permit guests to leave the ship on their own in those ports. I believe these restrictions are coming from those ports/countries.

Things may change (either way) by the time of your cruise.

Thanks for the input.  I'm hoping things relax because we prefer to wander instead of taking tours.  If we have to take a tour, we will.  I can't see being in ports and just staying on the ship.  Thanks again for the input.

  4. Hi! I hope your cruise is wonderful!  We are booked for the Ultimate Southern Caribbean cruise next month and can't wait to be on board again.  I was wondering if you might be able to post some information on shore excursions.  I received  an E-mail from Celebrity today with an update on health protocols and was a little confused about it.  I called Celebrity and the agent wasn't too informative.

This is a clip from the message.  I wanted to know if they allow you to leave the ship in ports covered by the second bullet point or are you forced to take a tour in order to get off the ship.

Thanks for any help you might be able to provide.

  5. We just booked an NCL cruise to Northern Europe and got the Premium Drink Package as part of their current promotion. My question is are there any sparkling wines included with that package or do I need to upgrade to the Premium Plus Package? We like champagne. In 2017 we went with NCL through the Panama Canal and got the (then) Ultimate Package with did include champagne. Also I read at another site that the drink of the day was excluded from the Premium Package but included with the Premium Plus page.  This seems contradictory to the up to $15 per drink limit since the daily special is always under $15.  Any help would be appreciated.

  7. We leave for Alaska on the Coral in May and I was just at the Princess website looking at the deck plans. When accessing them, there is a question as to when you are sailing; one says before September 2019 and the other says after September 2019. It looks as if there is going to be changes to the ship in 2019. I didn't take the time to compare the deck plans for each so don't know what changes they might have scheduled.

  8. This is an old thread but I thought I'd give it a shot... Does Carnival still offer the OBC to stock holders? I've seen old references to it but the forms people attached all have expiration dates that are long past. I looked at the Carnival site but couldn't find any reference to it. Has anyone used this recently?
