    ENTERTAINMENT

Holy cow —- best entertainment aboard any ship I have been on. And not just one specific thing, it was across the freakin board.

Choir of Man was Outstanding, Beatles were Outstanding, the 5 piece band that goes on in the Q for country western was outstanding. Kinky boots was very good. The Jelly Beans that play by the Mojhito bar - amazing - she sang some patsy cline that might make you cry - her partner sounds just like Neil diamond, so good. The piano player in the atrium was great. Guns and Rojas were both good and great. Good with the rock and roll stuff. But great, amazing when they did the frank Sinatra set - the lead singer was dancing with the older ladies.

(hmm, I am only 54, you might think I am 80 with this review. But some songs just showcase voices, and boy, everybody who was a singer on that ship could SING.

By any chance did you (or anyone else reading this question) see the country band in "Q"?  Do you remember their name, or perhaps get a video?  Hubby, my extended family and I were on the inaugural sailing out of Miami and "Camille Rae and the Rae Bans" were the band.... they were PHENOMENAL!  Our whole party of 10 spent every night in Q listening to them, they were THAT good!

We are debating on re-sailing the Encore during April and want to know who the new band is and if they are worth seeing.

    Thanks,

    Elaine

  2. i was in Haiti this past May and i was awesome! i recommend doing the roller coaster it was only $15 for 2 people and you charge it to your room. Really the best thing for your money in Haiti, the zipline was about $100 per person but it only lasted 5 minutes total.... and you just go over the water not really what i would want to spend $100 on but the coaster was sweet you get an amazing view of the island and your cruise ship at port :)

Would you recommend a one-time ride, or the full day pass for unlimited riding?

  3. The first day you board, get there ASAP.... while waiting in Port, focus on touring the ship and getting a "lay of the land." Most of the time, you can't get into your room until a certain time, and touring the ship is a great use of your time.

This way, you will know where everything is on your first day, and not wasting time finding each activity... or finding a really cool hang-out place on the 5th day of the 7 day cruise (like we did).

We took a Disney cruise and many people decorated their doors.... I thought this was so cool!!!! So, I did on our Honeymood Cruise on Royal Carribean's Oasis OTS.... It made our room VERY easy to find (since we were the only one's that decorated the door). Magnets work great!!!!

I like bringing a night light for the 3am trips to the bathroom. RC Oasis had an AWSOME one already in the bathroom, but I have found most cruise lines don't... and full brightness is very tough on my eyes.

I love the previous posts about 1: creating a tradition; 2: bringing an extra baithing suit; 3: simplify, simplify, simplify; 4: bring highlighter for the daily paper to mark events you want to go to.

    JUST HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
