  1. What is the best and cheapest transportation way to get to Los Angeles Airport (LAX) from Westin hotel in Pasadena? Also once we disembark from the cruise ship in San Pedro California what is the best cheapest way to get to LAX? How is the traffic on a Sunday morning to LAX?

  2. DH and I will be in Hollywood California and we''re thinking of going on Carnival Imagination.

Does anyone know the port where to embark on the Imagination? Is it far from Hollywood California? What is the best and cheapest way to get to the port? Also what other cruise line have departures in California? Looking for nearest to Hollywood. We will be in Hollywood in early October.

  3. I will be vacating in Vancouver BC sometime in Oct or Nov of this year. Is there a cruise line that starts somewhere (don't know where) and ends in Vancouver or leave from Vancouver and ends up somewhere else. We have done the Alaska cruise and don't want to do it again. Please tell me how I am able to search for a cruise.. No Hawaii destination.

  4. Just this past February there a great deal on the Gem. 9 days in the Caribbean for a very low price. Booked the cruise for myself and DH on Friday and sailed the next day. Couldn't chose a cabin due to late booking. But got a cabin on deck 11. Great location not far from the elevators and one flight of stair to the buffet. Nice quiet cabin. We live in New York so it was only a 45 minutes drive to the port. I had a previous engagement so didn't even go home that Friday so had to do our packing the morning of the sailing. Were having lunch in the buffet by 2pm. Great cruise.

  5. DH and I were on NCL Gem three weeks ago we were surprised that in the MDR for dinner they did not serve shrimp cocktail on any of the nine nights. While on Carnival shrimp cocktail were offered every night. We didn't know lobster night was the first night so we missed it.

  6. Last November my DH and I were on Carnival Breeze and there were an outdoor Indian station. Most days we ate there. Really delicious Indian food. Everything was very fresh especially the naan. Nice touch was the fresh cuncumber sticks. Spoke to other cruisers and all loved the Indian food. :

  7. DH and I on NCL Gem a couple of weeks ago. It was from Feb 8 to 17th. I show a great price for a 9 days cruise leaving from NY. Only $329. Booked the cruise on Feb 7 afternoon. Had prior plans so were not going to be home till morning of Feb 8. Got home at 9:30am rushed around to pack for myself and DH. Did a couple of loads of laundry. Jump into the car at 12:30 pm, drove to Chinatown to pick up some food for the kids dinner that night. Finally we were on way to the port. Got to the port at 2:30pm

  8. One of my fondest memories was my very first cruise. Just spending time with my Dh, Dd and her boyfriend at the time. Now her husband of two years. Then we took another cruise together and we did an excursion where we went swimming with the dolphins. We had a great time. These days my Dd is busy working on her master so we haven't taken a vacation together for a long time. Dh and I miss cruising with them.

  9. My dh and I were on the same sailing. The ship were rocking very badly. My dh got very sick and were in bed the following day. Please don't let this prevent you from sailing again. Every staff member were very nice. Especially the ladies by the dining areas. Love it when they say washy washy and then spray your hands. Love that the food were served hot especially the soup. We felt that there were not much variety. There is one side of the menu that is standard with steak, fish, chicken and pasta. Then the other side of menu changes daily. The ship is on the smaller size. On certain days they will show a movie in the atrium. We thought that this is a poor chose to show the movie. This is a heavy traffic area. The customer service, shop, java cafe, cruise consultant are all in the atrium area so it was pretty hard to hear the movie. Wish the movie were showed in the Stardust theater. I enjoyed the entertainment. We went to the nightly shows. I loved the production shows. The comedian were funny. And the magic show were okay. We enjoyed the ports at least most of the ports. San Juan we did lots of shopping. Bought lots of change purses at Coach for a very reasonable price. Great for Christmas gifts. Found great sales at Polo and Tommy Hilfiger. Had a wonderful Spanish dinner. St Thomas had the best prices for liquor. Bought ten bottles of Hennessey. The port that we did not enjoy were Sanama in SD. It's a very poor area. It was sad to see how people lived. Made us feel that much more blessed. Had to take a tender over to Sanama. The air conditioner were not working it got very hot. A very uncomfortable ride. Not much to do in Sanama. Can't understand why NCL had it as a port stop. Most people we've spoken to didn't enjoy Sanama. If anyone has been to Sanama, please let me know where you went and if you enjoy it. Perhaps my dh and I just didn't know where to go.

  10. Does anyone know if I can bring a bottle of wine on the day I broad the ship? And will there be a fee if I drink it in my stateroom

? Need answer asap since I will be broading the Gem tomorrow morning. O, another question do they give you body soap and shampoo?

  11. I can't believe it but I just booked a cruise on the Gem. Wasn't looking for a cruise but came across a great bargain. And I was lucky to able to get next week off from work. Sailing tomorrow. My question is ... Has anyone had the pleasure to meet Special K. My DH and I met Special K on Explorer of the Sea. At the time he worked in the MDR. I heard he may be with NCL. Does anyone have any information? Hoping he is on the Gem so we could say hello to him.
