  1. We are booked on Celebrity Solstice 9/8/23 sailing, and I've been looking at shore excursions.

Has anyone used Alaska Shore Tours for any excursions?  We are looking at the dog sledding

tour in Juneau, and the White Pass Train way up to the Yukon with the bus ride back in Skagway.

Any reviews on them would be great.  TIA!

  2. The "Suite Life" benefits far outweight a small obstruction IMHO.  Especially if you bid and get accepted.  You are paying usually a much lower rate than if you would have booked the suite

in the first place.  The suite cabin itself is much larger than any of the regular balcony cabins.

The balconies are much larger than a regular balcony.  AND, you get to eat in Luminae.  Plus

all the other benefits that come with the "suite life"

So, I'm just being super cautious here....the website says Antigen is ok, but the below from my CVS confirmation shows an "X Not accepted for most travel"?  Maybe that means airfare.  I have this on Thursday before my Saturday cruise.  I've seen other topics about having a backup.  Maybe Walgreens on the same day?  They only schedule TWO days out though & my cruise is 2/26.  Ugh, I don't like all of this 😞  but excited to go.  Thanks, Kris

Just boarded Equinox today, and that is the test we took 2 days ago in Naples, FL.  We had results in 1 hour.  Easy and fast results!

  4. I was able to have the FCC'S done manually for 2 bookings and it took less than a week.  I'm a travel agent, so I called Celebrity to cancel the cruise, then requested the FCC'S be expedited so they could be used on another sailing.  Then, I had the new sailing marked deposit would be by FCC and had the deposit due date extended.

    Hope this helps.

Yes I will check with TA.  I got a refund and just got email for FCC.  For two cruises, both canceled. Could refund be for one cruise and FCC be for the other?

Taxes/port charges are refunded. Cruise fare would be FCC.

I have to respond to this, because this "48 hours" thing from RCI really annoys me because it's not 48 hours from ship departure time, or ship boarding time, it's from 12:01am on the day your ship departs. So for my Saturday cruise I have until midnight on the Wednesday to cancel.  But you have to have COVID test results from within 2 hours prior to departure, so for my Saturday cruise the earliest I can get tested is Thursday morning. So if you happen to find out that you have Covid, even if you do it at the earliest possible allowable time for their testing, it's still beyond their "48 hours" for CWC. Which annoys me.

If you test post, you get a full refund.

Yay!  We are half way there!!! In ATL waiting to rebook with lots lots of people!

Last resort, if you cannot get a flight, maybe you could rent a car and drive.we are in NE Ohio and decided rather than fly to FLL, we would drive.  Don't have to depend on the planes/pilots/weather to get there. We are leaving 5 days before our cruise, and if severe winter weather to forecast, we can leave sooner. Will stay with family once we arrive in Florida.

We did not miss any ports. Go back to the first page of this thread and you will see photos of the letter we received regarding excursions at each port.

Thank you.  I saw the letter and just wondered if there were any last minute changes.  My BIL & SIL are currently on the ship but don't use internet or social media.  I'm anxious to talk to them once they return tomorrow evening.

Enjoy your last day on the ship!

Ordered the tests as could not find anything local for the Rapid Antigen test. Looked this morning and several local CVS Minute clinics now taking reservations up to 4 days out. Have till mid November for the cruise, so glad to have the tests in hand, but would prefer using local if possible.

I have scheduled the Rapid test (Antigen) at our local CVS (Cleveland, OH area) and was able to schedule 14 days out.  I am still concerned this type of test isn't accepted by Celebrity.  I was afraid the PCR test results would take more than the 2 days allowed by Celebrity.  Any thoughts?

    Sailing on 11/1/21

  10. Are you saying the FCC ($355. Value)  you received and applied to your Odyssey sailing, had been cancelled, and you are getting the FCC returned in the same value of $355?

Did you think you should get an actual  refund?  It was originally an FCC to compensate for some issue from a previous sailing.  You will still have it to apply to another sailing.  This is fair.

Why would they give you a cash refund?  It was never cash out of your pocket to begin with.

I asked this on another thread, was looking for an answer from a travel agent? Just how soon are they getting commissions on all the canceled cruises their client has booked?

Here is the question I asked?

    "

How long can the cruiseline keep offering the travel agents commission on a canceled cruises when people are stilling waiting for refunds? Doesn't seem fair to have customers still waiting for their refunds?

A travel agent could stack up commissions from the same customer multiple times before a ship sails.

Say you have one customer who had a cruise in March canceled, rebooks  for May and has that canceled, then rebooks for June and that is canceled, that means agent get 3 commissions? How can the cruiseline keep paying out like  that? "

What about all the work the travel agents are doing in rebooking cruises, taking care of cancelled Sailings, calling the cruise line on behalf of their clients. . . Should the travel agents be working for nothing?  Travel agents work on Commission only.  Their jobs are not easy, ecpescialy now with changes on every cruise line.  TA are only getting paid on cruises that were paid in full.  And only on cruises that were cancelled 30 days before sailing ( in other words cruises that were in 100% cancellation timeframe).

  12. On the Reflection 3/13 roll call, says they got a letter, and are headed to Nassau ...

Regal Princess does not have passengers, their 3/8 sailing had been cancelled, along with the suspension of all sailings that started yesterday.
