What's the difference between formal night and gala night and how many can we expect on a one week cruise
Difference is some call it gala others say formal suggested attire is the same regardless. For a 7 night you will have two.
-
Intersting negatives if you ask me, a little research would have solved most these issues, BUT glad you enjoyed the good, the Divina is a beautiful ship.
Agree
Curious regarding internet being slow what devices OP was using and what time of day.
-
Also have "Italian night" red white green and "flower power" Think 70's/80's.
Wouldn't count on anything really being "adults only". It might be posted as such but MSC doesn't enforce rules very well.
-
I guess I'm odd when someone says "booze" I don't think wine.

Personally love the complaints from people who say they've sailed with multiple companies or one company on multiple ships for many years and their 1st and only post on CC is negative with no specific details or comparisons.
"The food was horrible" - was it under or over cooked, did they use spices or sauces you don't normally have?
"Drinks were expensive" What did you order? how much was it?
"Entertainment was boring/not enough to do" what were you expecting?
"Cabin was small" What cabin were you in? How big were you expecting considering the size of the ship an how many cabins there are?
-
Yes you can. See at least 2-3 every cruise.
-
Just don't be surprised if some aren't as formal as you might expect.

I have found those special short 4 night cruises are probably the worst cruises .
The staff hates them since most of the passengers are very rude and demanding, trying to fit everything into 4 nights especially the drinking.
Very often the line will switch crews and or give staff time off thus keeping the ship understaffed.
I have been on two and will never do one again.
Just my 2 cents.
Completely agree. We've only taken one a few years ago on MSC but that was enough for us. Totally different experience than the 7night cruises which we love. Also a totally different experience when the entire ship or half the ship is chartered VS a non chartered ship. Really do wish the cruise companies would tell people when booking about large groups onboard.
-
Out of 8 MSC cruises I'd say somewhere in the 60-75% range do the jacket tie/nice dress. More sport coats than suits at least from what I've seen on Caribbean sailings.
On a 7 night cruise it's two formal nights.

Flight sounds fine to me.

The Bars and casino will run as normal as will the kids club.
As for entertainment: That can be tricky and will depend on the charter group.
I would say there is a good chance with the K-love group that very few if any "regular" musical entertainers would perform. Wouldn't count on having the "regular" ship performance in the theater either.
What entertainment may happen is during the day: the pool games, trivia contests and bingo.

We've booked a B2B covering 7 nights western Caribbean followed by 7 nights eastern Caribbean.
Are the theme nights/entertainment/menus repeated or do they vary over the 14 nights?
Repeated
-
How about a 7 nt cruise in february eastern caribbean?
What kind of themes could we expect?
Will there be any formal night ?
Two formal nights, Italian night, white party and flower power.
-
With only 4 nights don't know if you'd even have both but the typical
Italian night - green white or red any or all
White party - White of course

Using Jiffy Jeff for the 1st time in Feb. QLS reply to our simple questions was rather unprofessional in my opinion so we went with someone else.
-
So we picked Jiffy Jeff as our Shuttle service in Feb. Two other shuttle providers we contacted didn't seem very professional (to me at least) even though they are recommended A LOT on here.
Just have a dumb question - Did Jiffy Jeff have a trailer for the luggage or was everything packed in the actual van itself?
-
Well then they would be on the security cam...
Not necessarily. Cameras aren't everywhere.
-
How early do most book the shuttle services going from FLL airport to Port of Miami?
-
My guess is it was a fellow passenger not a crew member going through bags as they are left in the hall with nobody watching. That is one reason we try an put our bags out as close to the time it has to be out by rather than putting the bags out before we go to dinner.

The CDC issued a a travel alert for people traveling to areas where this once rare virus is now rapidly spreading, and it has advised pregnant women to consider avoiding these regions altogether, as the evidence grows that Zika can cause infected pregnant women to have babies born with the severe birth defects. The countries of concern include: Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Martinique, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Suriname, Venezuela, and Puerto Rico.
The most common symptoms of Zika, a flavivirus related to Dengue, Yellow Fever, and West Nile, according to Richard Kuhn, Head of Biological Sciences at Purdue University, include flu-like symptoms (fever, body aches, headache), as well as rash, joint pain, and conjunctivitis.

Wow it was just a "silly" question folks.
Just like all the packing lists full of items few if anyone really needs or uses so why pack it in the first place they just take up space.
In this case it is provided items: one few use and one that is against the rules to use anyway (at least for its original purpose).

What about the Getaway did the kids really enjoy? If it was the waterslides an pools they would probably be much happier on the Epic.

As said above Official rule is NO.
HOWEVER we've never had issues bringing 6packs of bottled soda. I know they have checked it in our bag cause it was moved but still arrived to the cabin. We'll see if they have gotten more strict about the rules since our last cruise when we sail tomorrow.
