  1. Can anyone with a Samsung phone running Android running 6.0.1 software tell me if they are able to see the deck diagrams under Ocean Compass for the Regal Princess? The latest version of the Medallion Class App will show the deck diagrams for Ruby, and  Sky, but not for Crown, Royal, Caribbean, or Regal. If you try to display Grand it just hangs on Loading Points of Interest.

    You know, there is no reason we cannot pull up the BP's in the OCEAN Medallion App at check-in - just like airline BP's.  I have never swiped and saved those off.  Only reason for a screen shot IMO is if cannot get the app up or a passenger is not connected to internet at the time (like not connected to a mobile provider). 

     

     

  3. Question about the Medallion Class app on Android phones

     

    I downloaded the app on a Samsung Galaxy (android) and on an Iphone and an I pad. On the Iphone and Ipad the OCEANREADY Pass is displayed on a single screen (no scrolling required) so you can save a screenshot of the entire pass. 

     

    On the android phones (2 different ones) the OCEANREADY pass shows the name and voyage information and the top part of the QR code block. You have to scroll down to see the entire QR block but then the name and part of the passenger information is missing.  I called the ocean navigator line and asked if I could just capture the QR code and they said no, that the entire OCEANREADY pass would need to be captured. I know that I can just use the printed boarding pass and I have that printed out but it is really frustrating to have the app say you need to do  screen capture of the pass and then the app makes it impossible.

  5. Can anyone please explain exactly what the "Medallion Access Pass" is. I have the screen that displays an "OceanReady Pass" on my android phone and it has instructions to "save a screenshot or print a copy". Are they talking about the QR code box on the screen? If so I do not understand why I would need to print or capture the image instead of just showing it at the port. I called the Princess help number but they were absolutely clueless.  

  6. Quick update on Ocean Compass/Ocean Access. I have been trying to add my reservation to Ocean Compass for over a month (sailing on regal 11-11-2018 with the medallion) without success. I have called support about once a week trying to get it fixed and I am always told that they will send my information to tech support and someone will get back to me in a few days to correct the problem. No one has ever contacted me.

     

    I called again today, and spent a lot of time on hold and being transferred to the wrong department. The person I finally talked to put me on hold while she contacted tech support (again). She came back on the line and told me that the tech had a question and needed some additional information which I had to give to her and she then put me on hold while she gave the information to tech support. After all of this effort I was told (not by the tech directly but by the agent I was talking to) that OCEAN does not work. It has not worked, and they have no idea when or if it will work. IF they get it to work then they will notify the passengers.

  7. I just got off the phone withPrincess Customer Service concerning the status of Medallions for my upcomingcruise on November 11th . For background, I was on Regal last November.We booked it specifically for the Ocean Medallion. We had 4 cabins and onecabin had the medallions but they did not work at all. We did receive an OBC of $100.00 ascompensation. We all were really looking forward to experiencing the new technology(we were all in the technology business one way or another) so we booked theRegal again for a year later, they would have to have it working by then,right?

     

    Every so often I would checkthe princess web site to see if there was any changes to our cruise and low andbehold in July the cruise (actually all cruises that were Medallion) waschanged to Medallion Preview. I was upset but not much I can do about it. We (3club class mini suites) had nonrefundable air so we were locked in.

     

    The part that really upset mewas the Princess CSR telling me that the cruise had ALWAYS been a Medallion Preview and it had notchanged, so no compensation would be offered. I also asked her for an executivelevel contact I could send a letter to and I was told that I had to send anycorrespondence to the Princess Complaint Department email address. In the grandscheme of things an OBC would not mean much but the attitude of Princess meansa great deal to me. This is going to influence our choice of cruise lines goingforward. I always gave an edge to Princess (we are all Platinum) but that hasfaded away.

     

    If anyone has a corporatelevel contact I can express my displeasure to I would appreciate it.

  8. I just got home from the 11-26 to 12-03 sailing on the regal. We had the medallions and basicly nothing worked. We traveled with two other couples and we all wound up just leaving the medallions in the cabins.

     

    The tag along screens just showed general information such as what was available on each deck or sales promos. The last day I saw some screens that showed tag alongs but they were just generic demos.

     

    Cabin access worked for one person out of 7.

     

    Social Ocean worked for a few people but not us.

     

    Ocean Ready never worked

     

    No one was able to order anything through their smartphone or tablet.

     

    Everyone who had a medallion at check in was given a lanyard to replace the wristband. The lanyard had a holder for the Medallion and a sleeve for the cruise card.

  9. We are on the 11-26 sailing and we just received out Medallions today at 1 PM eastern.

     

    I was able to set up my wife's ocean compass account without a problem. I created her account as new from scratch. Princess entered my information into my ocean compass as I was having a problem getting into the web site. Now I get a message that the name does not match the reservation. Princess IT is supposedly working on it.
