Glad you are enjoying the review. Thanks for such kind words. It means a lot to me.

When you say that your family hasn't "made it as far down as I go" meaning in the Caribbean?

I meant that when I snorkel, I am really only able to dip below the water. You seem to go deep down and get up close. Do you hold your breath? I know Sakari can hold her breath forever. Just amazes me. I love snorkeling but I get very anxious at first. I despise the salt water in my tube. Once I calm down and enjoy myself... tour is over.

  2. I am late to this party......I get so excited to see you've put out a review. You've got a way of making me feel like I'm on the trip with too. Its my get away! Thanks for always sharing and please don't stop. My hubby and I cruised out of Miami for the first time last September on Vista. I loved the new ports. We have always cruised out of Texas but I have grown tired of the same ports and wanted to try something new. Aruba is on my bucket list and your review reaffirms. We are going on our next cruise in July with our kids too. Its out of Port Canaveral. Have you ever been to Amber Cove? I looked in your signature line. We do not have an excursion booked there yet.

  3. I'm sure you've already come up with plans but when we went last September, we did the ATV tour around the island. I loved that tour. We even got a little beach time. The company was Solid ATV Scooter Rental SXM. My husband tells me it was book thru Carnival. If my memory serves me correctly,  you went to St. Maarten after the hurricane and took pictures of the distruction. You rode with a friend I believe? I'm an avid follower of your picture reviews. =)

  4. I was on same cruise that just ended Sunday.. I did notice the carpet in our suite was a bit gross looking. Other than that, the ship was in tip top shape. The entire crew I encountered went above and beyond. I really enjoyed the cruise except I felt there were many rude passengers. More so than usual it seemed.

  5. As the parent of a disabled child I am appalled at the people saying the child doesn't need a leash but maybe would need one if disabled. Do you even think before you post? No child should be leashed up like an animal.

Agreed. My 20 year old disabled son survived without a leash. He deserved the same as everyone else.

I also can't get over folks saying that THOUSANDS of people are disembarking at once. I've been on 8 cruises and have never been in a mob with thousands of people pushing and clawing their way off the boat every man for themselves... My 8 experiences have been with zones and a roped off line with people moving in a nice orderly fashion. My children are able to pull their own luggage and walk along with me. Never have they been snatched, trampled, hurt, etc. I don't raise my kids to be morons.

  6. There is a fairly high chrome shelf(?) around the bottom of the railing. It's easy to picture someone standing on it and leaning over the edge. Add a jostling crowd on disembarkation day and you have an accident.

Yes... this is my 8 year old child and you can see that bottom ledge well. You also get an idea of how tall an 8 year comes up to the top of a railing.

  7. It did show up initially. Your problem is that Photobucket has revised their user agreement and to use third party hosting you have to upgrade your account at $400/yr. Here is one thread about it:

To get pictures you had already posted that are no longer visable, google 'photobucket embed fix' and choose the patch for the browser you are using. I have moved my photo hosting to Shutterfly. EM

    Thank you!!!!!!!!!

  8. Looks like you're making the best out of a tough situation. I can't imagine not being able to get the news of home when something so big is happening. I pray your home is dry when you make it back.

I was wondering if a cruise gets extended like yours... Do they still entertain like normal cruises? Do shows go on? Are they repeats? Just curious how it works.

Good luck to you. My husband is a police officer in West Texas who's been in Houston this week helping with rescues. Its so sunny and dry where I am that its absolutely surreal what is going on on the other side of the state.

  9. You shouldn't worry about it. I just got off the Breeze on Sunday. We were on the same itinerary as you when tropical storm Franklin was crossing the area. The captain reversed our itinerary and moved our second sea day from the end to the beginning. We had beautiful weather in all ports. The captain announced we would stay about 200 nautical miles away from the storm. We had one cloudy and choppy sea day. No big deal.

But...we didn't hear anything until the day before we were to dock in Cozumel. They won't announce anything until the last minute.

    Enjoy your cruise!

I was on the same cruise... Prior to the cruise, I think it showed rain for most of the week. We ended up with with one rainy and rough sea day is all... I was very pleased with our weather!

  10. I just got home from the Breeze. A little girl was standing on a chair on a 6th floor balcony room and fell over the railing onto the 5th floor near the Ocean Plaza doors. She landed on her face.

The ship diverted towards Clearwater, where it met up with a Coast Guard helio that evacuated the girl and her family.

The ship returned to Galveston on time.

So sad... I do hope she will be ok. I am on the ship now.
