  1. Under the same philosophy, it should be against the law to charge a solo traveller a single supplement for occupying a standard double-occupancy cabin. They shouldn’t be forced to spend money they don’t want to spend.

I agree 100% ! the cruise lines are going to lose more money by putting forced charges on their cruisers because if we band together and NOT purchase those extras then maybe they will think twice. Wishful thinking I know lol.

The cruise lines have many unfair practices that effect the cruisers.

Does NCL still charge double for their solo passengers in their solo staterooms?

  2. We have 3 adults in our room. Because 1 person wants to buy the deluxe beverage package that includes alcohol every one in the room has to either buy that package or a deluxe package without alcohol. The cost is prohibitive. I don't drink alcohol, coffee, tea etc but am forced to buy an expensive package that I will not use. I understand some people, in the past have cheated, and that is why they have the policy. But why should I be punished for the behavior of others. They should find another way to enforce their alcohol consumption policy and not force me to spend hundreds of dollars. Note: this was not in place when I booked the cruise.

Tell that one person absolutely not. It’s not fair to the rest of you. I think this should be against the law to force someone to buy it just because one person wants it. What if 3 people wanted it and one person didn’t because they were an alcoholic or had health issues that wouldn’t permit them to drink. This is an unfair rule to enforce. It would probably be cheaper for you to pitch in a couple $100 to have that other person NOT buy the package.

We shouldn’t be forced to spend money we don’t want to spend.

  3. Mr Sancho’s all inclusive has a limit on how many tickets they sell in a day. We missed out recently because of the rough waters but were reimbursed by the co we booked through. We went to the forum shops 3 miles away. $8.00 by taxi for 2 one way. Maybe next time.

Try cruisedeckplans.com that’s how I decided to choose my aft balcony on the Freedom of the Seas.

I’m a member (was $11.00 ) for 2 years but you can still see some pictures even if you aren’t a member but you don’t get all the pictures and videos. I absolutely LOVE this web site and use it all the time.

You can also try looking up the aft balconies of NCL escape on you tube.

From the pictures I’ve seen her stateroom must have been above the life boats and landed between the ship and lifeboat ledge. I also saw a picture where they powered the railing, she may have tried to sit on it. We will probably never know the full story.🤷*♀️

  6. Mine wasn't through Carnival, but NCL. It was to St. Lucia and it was a simple beach day ship excursion. When we got to the beach, rows and rows of lounge chairs were lined up touching one another. They also had umbrellas at every second chair. They only left enough room to walk in front of your chair. The only way to get into the chair was to sit on the bottom and shimmy up...not so pretty in a lot of cases. We were in the third row. We couldn't see the water, only umbrellas and backs of chairs. A little girl who was sitting by us couldn't play in the sand because if she did, people couldn't walk by. It was awful and a wasted day. We took lots of pictures and got our money back. We have never complained in the 20 cruises we've taken, but we felt as if we wasted a whole day and shouldn't have had to pay do do so.

St Lucia was our BEST. We took Cosols tours and had a fantastic time!! Great fun they made a party of it. Water, soda, beer an rum punch was all included in the price, all you could drink. We had his driver Bumpy and he was hilarious.

  7. Proper precautions is the way to go. Carry your own hand sanitizer. when I eat at the buffet I use several paper napkins to handle the utensils and sanitize my hands before eating. The ships are pretty through when they sanitize the ship. Sanitize the things you would touch in your cabin like the toilet and faucet handles and the door handles including the balcony door if you have one. I’m not a germaphobic even though it seams like it lol. These are just suggestions if you’re concerned about getting Norovirus.

    Sanitize often. [emoji16]

  8. Try Kayak I don’t know when in January you are going or for how many days but kayak has some good deals plus check on syber Monday also.

If you need a car Charlie car is a great company plus you catch their shuttle to the main location then chose the cruise drop off point. A free shuttle will pick you up within 10 mins to take you to the cruise ship.

    Good luck.

  9. I just bought my first hard luggage. I chose Calpack because it seams sturdy, has an inside zip cover on one side and has built in locks so I don’t have to use those little luggage locks with a chance of losing the keys. Can’t wait to see how it holds up! Cruising January 2018

  10. Help! I am now starting to research airfares, etc. to get to my cruise leaving out of Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, flying in from Denver, CO.

The prices are giving me a gulp, but even more frustrating are the unavailability of flights. Am I missing something? All I can find is through Air Canada and United (really one and the same as United uses Air Canada for some of their flights!).

Don't mind that there is no direct flight which is understandable and changing flights in Toronto isn't so bad, but what I am finding is the horrible times available! They all get you into Quebec City in the evening and late evening or even a bunch of overnight flights. The one or possibly two flights that get you into Quebec in the afternoon/late afternoon are hit and miss and if available almost twice the price!? Am I missing something? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    What dates are you going?

See if it's cheaper booking one way, both ways, sometimes it is. Also you can choose the cheapest airline each way. Sometimes you can catch a great deal from an airline going one way, also you can try going a day earlier and leaving a day later. I find Thursdays and Saturdays are cheapest for flying most of the time. Check every day even past midnight.

My example for 2 of us, we are flying from Providence RI to New Orleans then from New Orleans to Ft Lauderdale for our Cruise and we are flying 3 different airlines booked one way. Cost if I booked multi city( at the time I booked) the cheapest was $864. Doing it one way to each city and back home was AA from RI to NO $268.56 from NO to Fll

Southwest $132.42 and from FLL back to Providence Jet blue $242.48

Total $643.56 saved $220.64 and got a better choice of times. It doesn't always work but it's worth a try. I try it ever time we travel and usually score!

    Good luck!

  11. I like numbers and just to give you a round about example, RC Freedom of the Seas between all the stateroom including the suites at an average of $13.50 pp for inside to balcony and $16.50 pp for suites gratuities is a minimum of around $52,900.

That divided by 1300 crew members only equals out to about $40.00 extra a week for each crew member. That's not even a $1.00 more an hour because they put in more then 40 hours a week. That is not a lot of extra money for the services they provide us. So before you take away your gratuities remember this.

    Happy cruising everyone. [emoji568]

  12. This post is not aimed at anyone and is just my thoughts. Cruising is like a bargain all inclusive vacation with some exceptions and the cruise lines don't make any itinerary promises. It is the chance you take. Their first concern is your safety and if that means changing the itinerary or canceling the cruise then you shouldn't get upset. You have every right to be disappointed but remember, the cruise lines want you to live!!

The ocean can be merciless and I have seen how bad she can get so I would rather have a Cruise canceled then live through one of those again. Be thankful the cruise line has the safety of it crew and passengers as their priority.

    Safe and happy cruising everyone![emoji846]
