Are you coming from Canada or Boston? A Canadian port just before will mean immigration procedures before any one can disembark and HAL tours usually have preference.
I suspected as much. We will be in Halifax the day before. It's Oli's Trollys at 9:30am we are considering. Do you think we might be delayed enough to miss it? They do the same tour every day at the same time.

Hi
Iv'e read all the pages on this thread but can't remember if I came across any information regarding tenders. I've tried searching too but can't find an answer to my question. I notice that Bar Harbor is a tender port and we are looking at booking a tour not organised by the ship (Zuiderdam). Our arrival time in port is 7am and we would need to be on the tender pier at 9am. Would we be likely to encounter any problems with this schedule? What is the disembarkation procedure on Zuiderdam?
Thanks

On our last cruise (not HAL) we had a drinks package that worked in a similar way. We found that the wine waiter in the MDR would "top up" our wine glass five or six times during the meal. Then we were presented with five or six receipts when in reality we had probably only had a couple of glasses. This wasn't a problem because drinks were unlimited but is this likely to happen on Zuiderdam? If I have a fifteen drink limit I want each one to count!
(Some of them may be non alcoholic :p)

FINALLY! Finished reading through this entire thread and don't have to put up with any more comments like "Are you still reading that?" He'll be grateful when we board and at least one of us knows what we're doing! There's only one question I need to ask. I don't drink much tea and coffee but like a fruit tea with my breakfast. Are fruit, peppermint and herbal teas available in the MDR or should I pack my own?
Thanks for all the great information here. Looking forward to our first HAL cruise in October.

2 weeks. Venice isn't until the second week. My birthday is 9th May and we were originally only going to book the second week until we looked at the itinerary. And we just couldn't resist. Can't wait.

We are booked on this cruise from May 1st. My 60th birthday present to include a long awaited trip to Venice.
Buying OBC (On Board Credit) in advance

Can anyone please explain how the purchased OBC gets applied to your account? Am I right in thinking it is issued as a gift voucher that you have to take to the front desk to get applied? I don't want $60 a day hold (each!) on my card but neither do I want to be spending ages queuing to get my account credited with the OBC.
