  1. IMPORTANT UPDATES
Due to the increased Health & Safety measures in order to grant a safe cruise for all our guests, depending on ship-class, the following experiences will be closed until further notice: Steam Rooms, Heat Baths Whirlpools, Ice & Snow Experiences. Saunas, Salt Relax Room, Harmonic Relax Rooms, Experience Showers, Heated Loungers will remain open to our guests.

    Are these still closed?

  2. You will not have a problem getting a table for your party, they are very accommodating at food republic. FYI, the salmon roll is out of this world delicious! I would go earlier in the week though when it's less crowded. As the cruise goes on the word gets out to other guests of the great food Andy food republic gets busier.

  3. We just found out that our bid for the Sept 23rd escape sailing was accepted. Originally booked in a BB mid balcony for 4 people with beverage and dining package for $2376 taxes and fees included through our TA. We bid $125 p/p for a mini suite we are now in a family mini on the 12th deck. For a grand total of $2626 for 4 people in a family mini suite with two perks is a great deal I think!

We also bid $850 p/p on a aft haven suite and that obv. Was rejected. Hope this helps some of you. Happy sailings and never give up hope that your bids will be accepted this is only 5 days from sailing date and I changed my bids numerous times before it getting accepted. I started my bid for a mini suite at $50 p/p around 30 days ago, revised it several times ranging from $60 to $115 p/p and never got an offer. Then this morning @ 8 am I changed the bid to $125 p/p and three hours later I received aN email stating my bid was accepted! I think going from a balcony to a mini the magic number is $125 p/p. I am a gold member with ncl and always book through my own TA. I paid a pretty cheap price originally for a balcony cabin. Also, pretty much all mini suites for those sailing dates were sold out when I just did a mock booking.

    Hope this helps you all.

  4. I wish had gotten this card sooner. I have 2 cruises booked and plan on maxing out the card in the casino(20k). Taking the cash home and paying off the card. I will get 60,000 points on each cruise. The best thing is that I am Golden in the casino so I save the 3% cash advance fee that the casino normally takes. Has anyone been able to use an upgrade on an already CAS comped room?

Skeeter- does this really work? If you take 20k out from the casino you get 60,000 points?

  5. Yes and the cards do not have to be in the same name. My husband and I each have an NCL card and a BOA travel card, so 4 credit cards. I consolidate the points onto one card on a regular basis.

How do you combine points? What number do you call we have both cards and want to take are points from boa travel rewards visa and apply them to the ncl world points card.. can you provide a phone number for us to call?

    Thanks again

  6. So far I have only seen the cash value of the triple points on NCL charges which can be transferred to any other Bank of America credit card.

I've used points to pre-pay DSC, excursions and my onboard charges including CruiseNext certificates ;p

The Bank of America Travel Card gives 1.5 points on all purchases plus triple points for travel purchases through their travel department. Between the two cards, you can accumulate points (cash statement credits) fairly rapidly especially if you cruise NCL or travel often.

Can you combine points from the. Ncl world points mc and the boa visa travel rewards credit cards?

If so, how do you go about and getting them combined?

  7. Having trouble deciding on what cruise to book because the effects of Irma.. I have choose between 3 itineraries with 3 different ships. The BA cruise leaves out of NYC on Dec 3 2017 12 nights to Eastern Carribean three of the ports will be affected .. St Thomas, Tortola and St Maarten. The Jade leaves out of Miami Nov 16 11 nights for the panama canal no ports will be affected. The Star leaves out of Miami Nov 16 for 11 nights going to the southern carribean and the ABC islands with 2 ports being affected St Thomas and Tortola. I have never sailed the panama canal nor have I been to the ABC islands I have sailed the eastern and western itineraries numerous times. I have sailed the Ba and Ga and escape several times but have never sailed the star or jade.. They are all similar priced we would be sailing in a balcony cabin. What ship and itinerary would you choose? We live in Ohio and could drive to the Nyc port for the ba and would fly to Miami for the other two ships...

    thanks for your input-

  8. Ncl mandates that no travel agent can advertise a price cheaper than theirs. That doesn't mean you can't get a better deal. Many agents offer you perks on top of NCL perks. Usually an onboard credit or free insurance or pre paid tips.

I have two 7 day cruises booked this month - one with an agent who gave me an onboard credit and for the other, the agent had an "affinity group" set up (basically they buy a block of rooms and get perks that they can use them selves or share with cruisers). They gave me the UBP free including gratuity and free prepaid tips. That plus my CruiseNext certificate took the cruise to practically free ;)

What agent did you use for free tips?

  9. I know it's not a lot, but it's not only the savings, it's a better location.

1 thing that has to be considered is that if we rebook in order to get the OBC that was offered under the Balcony Bonus, we lose the cabin upgrade. So we passed on that as it would have ended up costing $160 to get $100 OBC.

The reason I ask is we are going to book are next cruise on the Escape in September 23. We are booking either the breakaway 12 night in December or the bliss trans Atlantic in April. I was wondering if it's even worth booking on the cruise ship. Seems they don't give that great of An offer. So you can't book a guaranteed bx and go to a ba then I'm assuming?

  10. See what extra promos they're offering. We booked the inaugural Bliss for next April on our cruise last May. The offer was to book at the rate for a BF balcony & get upgraded to a BA. We were also able to have the booking transferred to our TA afterwards.

If you're looking to book 4 cabins, you could buy 4 cruisenext certificates. $1,000 charged to your onboard acct, and use them as deposits on the cabins. Because you will get $500 OBC applied (basically a 50% discount on the certificates) you get a $250 deposit on each cabin for a net cost of $125.

They may also run a promo allowing you to use 2 certificates for each cabin.

That offer now only saved you $80 pp on the TA itin.

    bf to ba

1649 vs 1729. Seems like a poor offer.

  11. Hello fellow poker players. Can someone who has played in the 2016 event confirm what the main event prize pool was? For 2017 it says 350K but is that the guarantee or expected guarantee? I have a voucher, but before I commit I would like to know what the actual numbers are. The CAS folks are all pretty vague about it. I can find all of the info on the tournament except the actual amount of the ME from last year. Thanks all

    350k guaranteed

20-25% of that for first place.

  12. My degree is from Johns Hopkins thank you. And you described it very well indeed. And if it so turns out that they have excess supply then NCL will surely change their strategy as said in my last post. The point is the market will correct itself. And I don't see it as nickel and diming as it is an optional place to dine. Plenty of free options to dine on the ship. I did a quick search on AIs and I came up with a "cheap" price of $1500 per person for 7 days. And the difference between an AI and a cruise is you are stuck at that one resort where in a cruise you normally are visiting multiple destinations. Cruises are definitely a better option for me. Especially when you consider CAS. But I understand different people have different tastes.

The whole point to my original post was uptown grill was for many a great quick stop burger restaurant that was free- they removed it and added a for "fee" restaurant. Why? That's what pisses me off. They have enough for "fee" restaurants on the Breakway, why did, they have to go and add another one? That's why I say "nickle and diming" I understand that ncl is a for, profit organization and they are out to pad their pockets and make shareholders rich😂🤣 but changing uptown to Jimmy Buffets and charging is for the birds. Pretty soon there will Be NO free places To eat and everything will be upcharged 😓

  13. It's called supply and demand. If people are willing to pay then that is where the price comes from. If they are not willing to pay then NCL will surely change their strategy. Calling it nickel and diming is just silly. You have a choice not to dine there. And if enough people also make that choice then things will change. I find cruise lines to be a much better deal than AIs. But maybe YMMV.

Moby- where did you get your economics degree from? Only when the place was free was it in demand professor dumbledoor- they supplied a product and the demand was too high for free. So,they changed the "free" dining to ala carte trying to create an even Equilibrium!! That seemed to work fairly well as people would eat at the ala carte prices and pick and choose what they wanted to eat..and keep the margaritville restaurant somewhat busy and relevant..and that obviously didn't sit well with the ncl execs because the food sales obv plummeted because people where only using Buffett's restaurant for UBP frozen concoctions and volcanoe nachos and the occasional burger here and there. So they decided to test the market and charge flat fee of $14.99 and now all the sudden they have excess supply- it's called ECONOMIC GREED MOBY! In lamen terms to me that's called " nickle and diming"

As far as AIl inclusive are concerned; two people, airfare included, can stay at a moderate resort for around $2000. In my book that's a pretty affordable option. One to consider vs inside cabin with UBP package on a cruise ship, NOT including air can run around $1800 or much higher depending on ship,itinerary,etc....

Relax and breathe the fresh air-

  14. BRING BACK UPTOWN GRILL!! Why get rid of a awesome burger joint to replace with some over rated jimmy Buffett BS!! Burgers @ best are average- uptown grill had great selection of burgers and toppings- Its Ncl nickel and diming everyone- I'm so sick of cruise lines taking away good ( free ) dining venues and replacing with for fee bull ****!!! I'm done with all this bs- I'm going back to land all inclusive vacations!!
