  1. NJ and Nevada regulate slot payouts by state agencies. The tribe regulates the payout for their casinos. Carnival regulates their payout percentage and does NOT publish this percentage. Most large legit casinos pay between 95-98%. Most tribes pay 85-95%. It is widely estimated that Carnival payout is around 80%. The problem is that there is no real hard data that must be reported to a regulating agency. The law of the high seas pretty much applies. THE CRUISE SHIPS SLOTS ARE GENERALLY CONSIDERED TO BE VERY STINGY.

  2. Ordered the NY Strip on the Magic on 9/28/14 cruise. It was lobster night and I do not eat shellfish. This medium rare steak was cooked to absolute perfection and was an excellent cut of meat. On my scale of 1 to 10, the flat iron steak is about a 2.4 and this NY Strip was a solid 8.7. I would recommend this option to anyone that truly appreciates good steak.

  3. I was on the Magic two weeks ago. In the MDR, I ordered the 14 oz NY strip from the special menu. It was truly delicious. Absolutely scrumptious.

This was NOTHING like the flat iron steak thing. Those are awful. There is no comparison.

  4. We were at Nachi last week. Loved it. Service was very prompt. Drinks were not watered down. Food was excellent. Place was quiet. They even had a sign by the pool declaring that this is NOT a spring break type place. If you were obnoxious, then you wold be asked to leave. I like that. The beach was great. Loved sitting under the trees and umbrellas. We will definitely return.

  5. We are a group of eight porting in Montego Bay on the Magic. Four couples. Two couples in their 30s and two in their 50s. The 30 year olds are desiring more adventure (zip line, cliff jump, etc) and the older folks have had recent surgeries and are less mobile. Any suggestions on going to a super adventurous place where some can sit and observe while others can go crazy. We would love to NOT ride in a bus for over an hour and definitely want to return to the ship with one hour to spare. We would love suggestions. Thanks in advance.

  6. The problem in February and March is not so much the temperature in the ports of call. The problem is the fog in Galveston that time of year. I have cruised out of Galveston three times in those months. One was destroyed. One disembarked 5 hours late and one went on schedule. Candidly, it is a crap shoot for fog during those months out of Galveston.

  7. One more special Mardi Gras picture. This is my mother and I outside the Italian restaurant on the Magic (taken two weeks ago). We sailed together on the Mardi Gras in 1982. It was my last family vacation prior to the death of my father. Pretty special picture.

  8. I know they changed this policy, but the "practice" out of Galveston had not changed as of May 11, 2014. We had two staterooms and only one platinum (me). We had no minor children and our rooms were reservation linked. We showed up and all four S&S cards (1 plat and 3 gold) were ALL at VIP registration.

  9. I have a different report. We sailed Magic on May 11, 2014 out of Galveston, Texas.

Room 1 - platinum (me) and gold (wife)

Room 2 - gold (mom) and gold (adult daughter)

The four of us went to VIP check in and ALL of our S&S cards were already in VIP. Our rooms were linked for dinner. I thought my credit card was linked to my daughters account but find out later that it was not (she ran out of OBC on day 4). Guest services linked it to my credit card afterward.

I know this input is different than previously posted, but ALL of our cards were at VIP.

  10. 1/3 closest to door is covered. Remaining two third is open. Btw - if your neighbor walks to the rail and looks sideways they can see your entire balcony. If you stand by the rail then everyone above you can see you. Pretty much no privacy.

  11. We were on the Magic last week. The Thunder vs Clippers was shown in the casino bar and the room for game 5. Game 6 was only on in the casino bar. TNT in the room and ESPN only available in the casino bar.
