We just got back, same deal with the overnight in Venice.

When we got off the ship the day before we had to depart there were plenty of taxi men there. We made arrangements with one to be there the next morning to take us to the airport. There were 4 of us, we went in a comfy minivan for 45 euro total. Couldn't have been easier!

we showed up at dinner with a another couple on formal night in "non" formal attire by mistake. my husband and the other guy had on nice shirts and slacks, us ladies had on some kind of tops and black pants. At the dining room supplied jackets for the gents and let us slide.

This was on the Eurodam, 2009

On a panama cruise for Super Bowl 2009, wish I could spend every Super Bowl on board. Appetizers all around the ship, hot dog spots, huge screens, it was everywhere there was a TV. Lotsa fun....

Took a tour with about 20 others , lotsa folks at the gate looking for customers, very interesting , absolutely felt very safe. Lovely town and I think the 4 hour tour was about 25$

I would recommend bringing cans instead of the bottles of soda , every bottle in our club soda 6 pack was opened by the "inspector " to make sure they hadn't been refilled with booze...everyone of the bottles went flat.

We did try changing our names once but got faked out when someone was shouting "Jean Claude, Jean Claude" and we were looking all around to see who they were calling.

We gave that idea up after that but I still try to pretend I'm very neat so the room stewards don't talk about me.

Sorted through my old emails and finally found one that did have the explore 4 promo info in a PDF attachment as a previous poster mentioned. So thank you for that, I will be printing it out.

It really should be spelled out on the HAL reservation though. There is a way they know you are entitled to the promotion so why not add it to your reservation and save some angst?

So as I understand it ..if pre-existing conditions are not an issue there is no reason not to wait till final payment to get insurance?

I just don't want to find out later that I have missed some deadline or other.

If I buy insurance now on a cruise scheduled for next September and cancel the cruise before final payment do I get the insurance refunded as well?

If so, is there any reason I would want to get it now?

This insurance thing is a little confusing to me

First time I ever saw it mentioned here but I thought they might turn things down at night too. A dinner-mate mentioned that they were waking up during the night and kicking off the covers and wondered if the AC was being turned down. I realized the same thing was happening to me. Didn't have a thermometer nor did I want to get that involved but now that I see it again...hmmmmm

I was in chemistry class, half way through someone came in to talk to our teacher and then they both left. He didn't come back so when the bell rang we all moved on to the next class. I went to gym where all the teachers were crying, soon we got the announcement that JFK had been assassinated and school was letting out.

It was a very sad time, thanksgiving that year was subdued too.

We were on the 10/28 Zuiderdam sailing, 8 days in had dinner with a couple who had no A/C from day 1.. they were given fans and a "sleeping cabin" not close by. They said all the aft cabins on their floor (which floor? I forget) had the same issue and that the corner suites occupants were moved the second day.

Not good that these folks weren't moved outta there before the ship sailed. The issues were known and they could have been given a cabin change a week or so before.

We hopped on the promo yesterday too, figured we can always hop off if something better comes along.

Don't you think this new drink package thing is tied to the new wine restrictions ? I drink only wine , I would never pay 50 bucks a day for it when I can bring on unlimited bottles of wine. (I wouldn't pay 50$ a day either way.. That's a lot of wine for me)
