  1. We watch UTUBE vlogger, Alfie Smith, "same ship different day". Alfie is a senior second officer with Princess and during one of his live Q&A sessions, someone asked him when he thought the EP would commence sailing and he said he thought she might do a Med season first.  His answer surprised me as I thought if she is ready for delivery now, why wouldn't she do a first season in the Caribbean, but now cruises are 'paused' till Dec, I wonder if this might be the case.  Hope not as we are booked on her in March but I am not holding my breath. Would thoroughly recommend Alfie's channel - very informative and interesting, but don't try 'asking' for it via a voice activated remote - it thinks you are being rude!!!

You just know that this Regal cruise will be cancelled after final payment!  Did some serious thinking over the weekend and decided to pay the final balance so that we get our full refund; however we have taken the lead from some friends who have had a recent Disney trip cancelled, and taken out a new credit card with 0% interest on purchases for 12 months -  hopefully the refund should be sorted by then...……. shouldn't it?

There are a bunch of us waiting for a decision on Regal to gets refunds--they have cancelled cruises from Southampton on Oct 7th  (the whole cruise is Southampton to Sydney). At the moment they have only cancelled certain segments -- we are on the Singapore to Sydney leg on Nov 14th ,hotel in Singapore and Business flights booked plus 5 nights in Sydney. Final payt was 16th Aug but moved 30 days I would rather know now as I don't see Australia letting any cruise ships in this year. I guess it passes lockdown time checking for information.

The terms are on Princess website re: FCC & possible cancellations. You can also call Princess have them take FCC off your booking and put it back into n your account.

Yes we do get the deposit money refunded as Brits if the cruise line cancels, fortunately our deposit was only £50 pp on an offer

  4. We did this in August and it worked very well for us. We had an early flight from our local airport in the UK and landed in FCO at 9.30 am. Princess greeters were there to meet us at the entrance to the baggage hall and once we had collected our bags we were directed to a waiting area with others. (Didn't have long to wait). The group were then escorted through the airport to the waiting bus. Our luggage was loaded onto a separate van and we didn't see it again until it was outside our cabin door a few hours later. The bus filled up pretty quickly and we were then on our way to the port - took about 50/60 mins I think. The terminal was very quiet when we arrived and we were on board in minutes. We had about 30 mins to wait until the cabins were ready at 1.00 pm. The ship was very quiet as I guess people staying on board for the next leg of the cruise had mostly disappeared off on excursions. It was pleasant not having to face a scrum in the buffet for lunch. The one way trip cost us £55 per person. I think we may have been able to do it a bit cheaper by taking a taxi, but we felt the cost was worth it to take the stress out of finding our way through an unfamiliar airport, and also not have to bother with our cases after they were taken at the airport. I believe I did read on another thread that the shuttles started at about 9.30 am.
