If it’s dairy free then it’s mine. That looks really tasty! Would you get it again? Thank you so much for sharing!

I don't know if the burger & hot dog buns from Trident Grill are available dairy free.
Yes, I would definitely get it again, I had it twice on the last cruise. 😄

I believe it is a lido deck venue on Royal class ships

Yes, it's from Trident Grill on Lido deck.

I am from Canada and I tried to book a return flight, NON STOP, with Air Canada online and by phone with no success.

Well, there are just no daily nonstop flights from Toronto to Rome in November or December. Air Canada has daily nonstop flights on this route only in summer. Try another day.

It would also be nice to see photos of the lobster roll and also the beef tenderloin.

Lobster roll from the Royal in March, poolside grill.

The story I heard a long time ago was that the cartographers mapping the area had a type-writing machine with the "n" key not working

The first europeans arrived in Samoa in 1722. The first american expedition arrived in Samoa in 1839. Serial production of typewriters started not earlier than 1876.

So it's pretty unlikely that the story with the missing "n" is true. 😁

The Samoan sound for "g" is just pronounced "ng", with the emphasison of the "n".

  5. Do not fly in on the same day. It's a bad idea.

As discussed above you may want to stay at the airport and just Uber over the next day. Nothing is cheap in Boston.

I am staying at the Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor, which is right at the airport. But I don't take an Uber for the next day, I just booked a water taxi, picking me up right next from the hotel. I thought a mini harbor cruise is much nicer than a tunnel drive.

Drop off is at Liberty Wharf, which means half a mile of walking to the cruise terminal.

But sometimes they even drop you off right next to the ship.

I don't think that's accurate. Cruise tours can start other days and there are Princess employees there for those with transportation to the Captain Cook.

Oh come on, no one of them is on a cruise tour.
And no one from Princess will be there on tuesday when the ship leaves on wednesday. Even if Princess people are there they can't help you if you are booked for the wednesday transfer.

As to the question about what to do, there will be many hours of sun, but not everything stays open that late.

    - flight in at 4:10pm - if on time.
    - bagage claim.

    - transportation to hotel.

    - checkin at hotel.

    - hotel not even close to downtown.

    - dinner time.

    Go figure. lol.

The Native Alaska Cultural Center is an interesting place to visit as well.

Flight comes in at 04:10pm. You did read that? The center closes at 5:00pm. And it's 13 miles from the airport.

The bus trip is several hours.

It's just under 1.5 hours by coach from Anchorage to Whittier..

Because they know the tunnel schedule.

    a) will there be a Princess desk at the airport on Tues or on  Wed?

Princess people are at the airport only when a Princess ship is in Whittier that day.

    3 hours ago, rakesh said:

    b) will the bus leave from the airport?

Buses leave from the airport and from downtown Anchorage.

    3 hours ago, rakesh said:

What are the times that the bus leaves for Whittier?

All details regarding the transfer can be found on the Princess website under 'Travel Summary'.

So what are the options for them sightseeing Anchorage late Tues evening

Not much to do that time of the day in Anchorage.

    16 minutes ago, Shippy said:

To bad they did not get more info on the bus. Do not know how far the hotel is from the airport, they might have to go back to the airport if the bus goes from there.

Princess provides all info you need for the transfer. You just have to read it.

Of course the bus is not leaving from the Holiday Inn Express, which is 2 miles from the airport.

They need to go back to the airport and checkin with the Princess staff. Buses are leaving from there.

.Should we get the "Ocean Now" App? Is it worth it?

Yes, it's nice to have. Install it and take a look.

    1 hour ago, Minnitub said:

Is it worth it? We're not sure if it's necessary, only 1 of us drinks Alcohol.

The app is not only for ordering drinks. Also food, you can do restaurant reservations, read the Princess patter, chat with crew, look at the deck plans, etc.

    1 hour ago, Minnitub said:

Do they not have open bars and waiters to serve us anymore?

Of course they do. Nothing changed.

    1 hour ago, Minnitub said:

Also, Is there a free coffee/tea venue open in the mornings?

Yes, at the International Cafe in the Piaza on deck 5.

    1 hour ago, Minnitub said:

Do they not offer free continental breakfast deliverd to your staeroom?

They do. You get an ordering form - just fill out what you like and at what time for the next morning.

Wikipedia? Really?  Is there any Princess literature that can be cited to?

Look, even cruisecritic uses this classification.

"Grand class (Grand, Golden and Star Princess), Crown class (Crown, Emerald and Ruby Princess), Caribbean class (Caribbean Princess) and Gem class (Diamond and Sapphire Princess)."

All that said, these ships have far more in common than they have differences. And are these sub-classes “official” Princess terms or are they Cruise Critic lingo?  Seems odd to call Sapphire and Diamond “Gem Class” ships and exclude Ruby and Emerald from that title. This se are gems too, no?  All in all, ships with a full deck of uncovered Mini-Suites, two distinct Lido Deck pool areas, and Skywalkers can be viewed together when comparing them to Royal Class ships.
