My understanding is that in Australia, you are unable to leave the ship once you board.

Thanks for this information... we might need to find a luggage storage place near the cruise terminal if this is the case. I think there is one directly opposite of passenger terminal. We'll check that up then! Thanks!

  2. Hello everyone!

We are leaving very soon for our upcoming cruise, departing from Fremantle, Australia! Can't wait! I was wondering, on embarkation day, can we arrive in the morning, proceed to check-in and have our seapass made, then go off the ship for the remainder of the day, and then proceed to the ship later in the afternoon for the departure? We would like to have a little time to wander around Fremantle, don't want to be stuck with our luggages... thanks everyone!

On any cruise, there are some "always available" dishes that don't change.

Among the dishes that DO change, each of your 18 nights will be a different list, but some items will repeat, in different combinations.

Thanks for that information! As I understand it, among the dishes that change, there will be repeated dishes, but always a few new ones. Anyways, we just hope there will be something new every night! I think we will try some specialty restaurants to add to the variety 🙂

  4. Hi! My husband and I will be cruising on our longest cruise ever: 18 nights, next February. We were wondering if the menu in the main dining room will be all new items every night, or will there be repeat meals (like when we did a B2B last year, it was the same menu on the second week, except they mixed the days).

    Thank you!

  5. Can you spend a night in Venice and take an earlier flight the next morning, with a longer connection time?
I wish I could, but not... because of work schedule I must return the same day as the cruise ends [emoji53]

  6. Hi,

Following up on a thread I started a few weeks ago, I'm still looking for a flight from YUL (Montreal, Canada), to VCE (Venice, Italy), departing on Nov 3rd, returning Nov 24th (flight must depart after noon because we'll be coming off the cruise ship that morning).

I've found what looks like a nice flight, with KLM airline. The retuning flight concerns me though, and I need a bit of advice. The connecting time is 55 minutes. Is this enough? I've read it's doable but was wondering if someone here had actually had such a short connection in AMS Schiphol. The AMS Schiphol website states that the minimum connection time from Schengen to non-Schengen countries is 50 minutes with KLM.

    Here are the flight details:

    VCE-AMS 12:25 - 14:25, flight #KL1654

    Connection 55 min

    AMS-YUL 15:20 - 17:05, flight #KL0671

Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

  7. I looked at random dates in June

Air Transat have nonstops from VCE to YUL

not sure what dates you need

also A/C & Lufthansa have non stop flights

I wish we were leaving at those high season dates (for flight availability at least!)... we leave on November 3rd and we'll head back home on November 24th. A/C and lufthansa (and other companies) only have flights with 1 or 2 connections at that time of year. No Air Transat flight, unfortunately. No direct flight so far :(

  8. Hello fellow cruisers!

We will be cruising in November and stopping in both Athens (Piraeus) and Olympia (Katakolon). It will be our first time there. We would like to see the archeological sites in both places, but organized excursions seem a bit expensive so far... so, I thought maybe we could get to the archeological sites on our own (for example, using the X80 bus) and paying for our entrance tickets there. I was just wondering if we could catch an official guide on the site there, because we'd really prefer to have someone to explain what we are seeing, giving us some history and details about the site. Is that doable? And we don't really want to go to the museums, so we don't really care not having a guide for that. Do you have any other suggestions?

    Thanks!

  9. Thank you all for your replies! I really appreciate it. And those clarifications about customs, security and immigration are useful! I think we'll look for a flight in the afternoon, it will be a lot safer, but we'll need to make an additional connection. I cannot depart the next morning because of work schedule (but at least I get to travel, right!).

    Thank you!

  10. Hi everybody,

I need some advice if some of you can help! We are taking a cruise that ends in Venice. From there, we're coming back home to Montreal, Canada. But we need to make a connection in Munich (there is no direct flight). We have never made a connection in a european country before heading home. Here are my questions:

    - The ship should be in port at 6:45a.m. If the flight departs from Venice at 9:40a.m., is it too early? We have checked luggages.

    - When do we pass the customs? Is it in Venice, Munich or in Canada?

    - If a 9:40a.m. flight seems too early, what would be the earliest reasonable time to book a flight?

Thanks very much for the advices!

  11. Thanks! It's good to know for the universal remote: I'll download one before we leave. Glad I have infrared on my cellphone, it will be useful! I wonder if I'll be able to watch stuff directly from my tablet? I guess I'll just bring a flash drive and transfer the videos I want to watch one at a time, to be sure! Thank you for your help!

  12. Hello! I will be sailing onboard the Reflection soon and I would like to know if I can connect my electronic devices on the TV that's in the cabin (concierge class if that makes a difference), like for watching my photos on a bigger screen or watching my videos! My devices are mostly USB, so does anyone know if it will work? Thanks a lot!

  13. Hi! I'll be cruising onboard the Reflection next week (!!!) and I am wondering if there is some sort of "coffee card" offered for cappucinos or other nice coffees that aren't complementary, that would offer some price reduction. I don't want to pay for a beverage package, because I would never drink enough to make it worth it! But I would buy a coffee package. Does it exist?

  14. Hi,

My husband and I will be visiting Tenerife for our very first time during our Celebrity cruise! We'll be docking at 8a.m. and departing at 4p.m.

Since it's our first time there, we're not sure what's worth seeing and what's not. We like to see great landscapes or feel the local culture. We're really into learning about the place we're visiting.

Celebrity offers 2 excursions which might be of interest: the first one is 5 hours long and visits La Laguna, and the price seems fairly reasonable, while the second one is 4h15 and goes to Mt Teide. I only wanted to have other peoples opinions on whether it seems worth it or not. Here's the description of the excursions:

    World Heritage & Wine Land

Immerse yourself in the culture and cuisine of Tenerife on this journey to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of La Laguna, followed by wine tastings at Bodegas Alvaro and La Casa del Vino. La Laguna is a World Heritage Site and the cultural and religious capital of Tenerife. Enjoy a guided walk from Plaza del Adelantado towards the church of Santa Catarina. Stroll along Calle San Agustín, where you’ll admire the façade of the Episcopal Palace and the Lercaro Palace. Discover La Laguna’s popular market. Then, journey to the northeastern area of Tenerife, known for its outstanding wines. Visit Bodegas Alvaro, where you’ll enjoy an aperitif, a selection of wines, and savor local delicacies. Next, make your way to El Sauzal, where you’ll discover La Casa del Vino, a wine museum located in a 17th century house. Learn about wine culture and production and sample local wines paired with cheese.

    Canada Del Teide Panorama

Journey to the National Park of Las Cañadas del Teide, a 19-hectare protected territory and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Teide crater is situated in the center of the Park and houses an extensive array of unique flora and fauna. Stroll through the lava fields of Mount Teide, Spain’s tallest mountain, where you’ll discover one of Tenerife’s most iconic landmarks, El Roque Chinchado (“God’s finger”), a curious lava stone formation that resembles a human finger.

Both celebrity excursions are a LOT less expensive than local excursion. We usually prefer smaller local excursions, but we're hesitating because of the prices (celebrity excursions are about half the price of local tours).

Sorry for the long post. Hope some of you can help us figure that out! Thank you very much!

  15. Hello everyone,

My husband want to bring his (somewhat old) kids on their very first cruise! My husband and I have cruised 4 times with Carnival and we enjoyed ourselves very much.

I wonder, though, what do CCL personal vacations planner do for you? I mean, the price they give us is the exact same price I find online... There's nothing they do that I can't do myself. Do they offer some kind of advantage, whether it be on price or any extras onboard? Do I have to ask for it, because my pvp certainly didn't offer anything extra...

    Thanks!

  16. Are there any special "package" on beers once onboard? For example, is there a "buy 2 get 1 free" for beers? I think they do that special with the Princess cruiseline. Also, I went on a cruise with RCI and there was a special "Buy a bucket of 6 beers for the price of 5"... anything similar on Celebrity Constellation?

Me and DH will never drink enough to make the 40$/day package (each!!) worth it... so we are hopping to see some other specials onboard...

    thanks!
