  1. We're choosing a room on deck 6, mid-ship, and have a question if anyone knows.  Some Veranda rooms have interior rooms across the hallway.  But then others have nothing across the hallway  (just a greyed out area).  (We're specifically looking at 6107 at the moment).  Anyone happen to know what's in the middle?  Just curious.

  2. I never thought to try it in the Cova Cafe, but service was very slo-o-o-ow everywhere else I tried. I even fired it up in the Theater (during bingo one afternoon), thinking my proximity to the computer area would help. Not so. I had a few good sessions, but most of the time slow service and dropped connections were the norm. It is important to know how to handle dropped connections to minimize the charges that accrue when you didn't have the opportunity to sign off properly. You must power down the laptop, but even then you will continue to run up about $3.00 worth of charges in this situation.

This really isn't a complaint as much as just a heads-up to anyone planning to use wireless on board. If you go expecting less than stellar connections then you won't be disappointed.

Also, I felt the people in the computer area were very fair in adding back minutes any time I spoke with them about dropped connections. I think it helps to speak with them courteously and with the understanding that they're not personally making the system malfunction. But to their credit I saw them being very helpful and professional even when they were dealing with a few whiny, spoiled brats as well.

  3. I think elevators have been mentioned before, but I'm not sure. So here's an elevator comment.

Some people seem not to undersand basic physics - two objects cannot occupy the same space at the same time. It's wise to stand aside when the elevator doors open and allow walking room for people who wish to leave. Especially on a crowded elevator, this must happen before anyone else can get on. This sounds elementary, but it's amazing how many people don't seem to comprehend.

And if the doors close a little too quickly, it's guaranteed that another one will be along shortly. It isn't as though we're trying to escape a fire (actually, a really bad idea to use the elevators then anyhow). I'm not implying that this comment applies to you, but it is interesting to observe elevator behavior. Maybe they need signs with bullet points like the ones we see at most swimming pools.
