  1. We are sailing on the Breeze for an Eastern in a couple weeks.  Does anyone have recent Fun Times posted?  I saw one from February, but wondered what might have changed since then.

Also, anyone who has been on in the last couple weeks, what movies have been showing?  Do they do first run movies, or do they not show anything until it is released on Blu-ray?  Just wondering if Dumbo or Captain Marvel might be showing?

If you mean the specific Cruise Critic app, there hasn’t been one since the update last fall. Per Jenn’s post immediately above yours, they are working on having one back.

Thanks, I saw that after I posted.  It is still in the app store though, so I thought it might work.

I appreciate all the work that goes into this forum.  It is great.

  3. We are cruising to St. Thomas in May 2019.  We have snorkeled at Sapphire Beach and have also done a Champagne Catamaran snorkel to St. John before.

We didn't see a lot of fish at St. John and are looking for recommendations for this trip where we would be able to see a better selection of fish.

We are sailing Carnival so are open to either a ship excursion or an independent one.

    Any recommendations?

  4. We are sailing to San Juan for the first time in May 2019 and would like to see the area.  Any recommendations on the best excursion for seeing the area, or any can't miss locations?

We are sailing Carnival, so either cruise line excursions or independent ones.

  5. We are going to be cruising to Grand Turk in May 2019 and I was wondering how snorkeling is here, and if anyone has recommendations on an excursion where you snorkel from a boat or catamaran.  We have snorkeled at St. Thomas and Grand Cayman, and wondered if the fish would be more colorful at Turk.

We are sailing Carnival, but are not afraid to book independent if the excursion is better.

Our cruise puts us in port from noon to 6pm.

  6. We boarded the Fascination Christmas Day, 2010. They have the ship decorated with trees and a gingerbread house display. There was a special Christmas menu in the dining room, and the show was Santa and his elves (the dancers). They gave the kids a drawstring backpack and some candy, from what I remember, and you could get your picture taken with Santa and his helpers.

  8. HI all!

1153rsmith ~ wow, that was very nice of them to do that!! What ship was it?

Every night if I wake up around 4'ish I check for them but never see any.:(

Hopefully some day I will. I bought a nice picture of them at Icy Strait Point & some cards of them at the museum in Anchorage.

    ~ Jo ~:)

We were on the Island Princess, but didn't see the northern lights on it. My pictures were taken at the Mt. McKinley Princess Lodge and they did the wake up call also. It came in about 2am and when I answered, they just said the northern lights are out. I am so thankful they did that.

  9. Nice, thanks for posting the pictures.

Apparently some officers saw the lights on our cruise

last week but didn't have a camera.

On our ship, you could get on a list for a wake up call if they came out. We also did that at the hotel. That is how I was able to get these pictures. I was out cold when the call came, so without that, we would have never seen them.

  10. We also bought at the Alaska T-shirt company in Skagway and Juneau. I would suggest getting your things in those 2 ports because the sales were not nearly as good in Ketchikan. My brother got a nice button up Alaska dressy shirt in Juneau for $10. The same shirt in Ketchikan at a different store was $20, one day later. Ketchikan does not have the Alaska t-shirt company.

The t-shirt company also had the Alaskan made ulu knives without the board/bowl for 50% off. $8 instead of $15.95.

  11. The display last night in Fairbanks was wonderful -- good color intensity and a great amount of movement.

Can someone post some pics? We saw them last week in Talkeetna. They weren't real intense and only the greens, but we saw them! One of the things that made our trip.

  12. I am glad you enjoyed my review. It was nice reflecting on the trip - we really had a super time!

If anyone has any Vancouver/Alaska/Island Princess questions, I would be more than happy to help. :)

We are doing the southbound in a week and a half. Where is the heated pool? Do you happen to remember how deep it is?

This will be our first time on Princess. Any can't miss food items other than the pizza?

  13. Nuggets and tenders are not the same. Nuggets are usually made from various parts of the chicken while tenders come from either the breast or near there. They are one piece of chicken and can be either breaded or grilled. They are enjoyed by all ages.
