I am looking into this as well. The previous poster is a little brash. You cannot compare Caribbean reefs to south Pacific reefs, it is not a fair comparison. Supposedly, this area in the Western Caribbean is some of the best snorkeling in this region of the world. Bonaire is suppose to be even better.

I think what you are getting at is whether the better snorkeling in Roatan is closer to Infinity Bay vs say Bananarama. They are not that far apart, but there is a difference of getting off your lounger and walking right in to go to the reef vs walking up the beach a bit to get there. I have been looking at where to do our day pass as well. Infinity Bay is ~$150 (3 adults). Bananarama is ~$100 but doesn't include the lounge chairs. For the convenience and amenities, I think Infinity Bay is the better option in my circumstances. I would go to Tabyana if my cruise line wasn't charging about $250 for it.

Our group went to Bananarama in Sept 2021.  We have always enjoyed our beach day there.  However, on our past visit.  It was very stressful.  Lots of locals trying to sell you stuff..(pushy and rude).  We were a group of 10, and we all had to take turns sitting with our stuff, and the ladies always had someone walk them to the restroom and bars,  We didn't feel safe.   We are going to give Infinity a try when we go in March.  I am hoping for a better experience this time!

  2. We just returned from our Carnival Sunshine cruise, and we had a day in St. Thomas.  We decided to take the tram up to Paradise point for their the wonderful view and of course their tasty bushwacker drinks.

I'm posting this to inform you that if you are in the military or a veteran...you can get a free ticket with proper ID and a purchase of another adult ticket.  I hope this information will save you money to spend on more bushwackers!!!

  3. To all Jade cruisers cruising before Nov 14............

We am cruising out of Houston on Nov 14 on the Jade. i know that the cruise lines replenish or restock the food and beverages so that is 1 thing i don't have to worry about. My biggest concern is the casino. So if you would PLEASE be so kind and try to fill all the slot machines full for us we will be forever grateful. thanks again for you kindness.

    Hello Waitingtogo...

We will be sailing with you November 14, 2015...I too hope to hit it big at the casino..(hey a girl can hope can't she?)

  4. We used them in April 2014...and have an excursion planned with them in Nov 2015.

You won't go wrong with Heather and her crew! Great snorkeling, nice, safe boat, and you'll get a lot for your money!

    Enjoy!

  5. We are sailing on the NCL Jade in November. We are getting married right before our cruise, since marriages aren't legal, if performed at sea! But would like to have a reception for our friends and family to surprise them with the news! Has anyone done such a gathering? And if so, who did you contact to arrange it?

Thank you in advance for your help!

  7. We sail 11/14/15 on the Jade, our stops are, Cozumel, Harvest Caye and Roatan...if Harvest Caye isn't ready by than, I really hope they take us to Costa Maya....

I really hope they give us enough of a notice so we can plan excursions for our large group.

  8. We sailed on the Sun in Feb. I'm not a smoker, but my DH is. There were just a few places to smoke. Very small area in the corner on pool deck. At the back, above the great outdoor cafe..(about 4 tables) and in the casino...

The biggest problem we encountered was lack of bar and cleaning service in the smoking area..we were constantly chasing down bar waiters to get a cocktail, or a busboy to clear the dirty ashtrays and dirty dishes..

I hope you have a great cruise, hope this helps.

  9. We are sailing on November 14th, 2015 on the Jade...there is very little activity on our roll call, which is really sad...I have met and stayed in contact with quite a few fellow passengers that I have met on CruiseCritic and at the M&G...I know we are 301 days from sailing, but I would think more people have booked by now!
